Did you stay at an ashram while in India? Would you recommend visiting India for spiritual growth? My interest in visiting India seems to grow more and more as I continue my spiritual journey
@Bellamyj04 Listening to your inner guidance and Spiritual Heart will guide you in life. Ultimately we are all looking for our self. It is a journey inward. There are people here to help us and they can be found in many countries. At one time India was a very powerful spiritual place, but materialism has changed much of what India was. India does still have genuine spiritual teachers, but they are more difficult to find that decades ago.
@ChannelHigherSelf Thanks Lincoln, the heart will make the final decision. I feel guided to remember what you said "it is a journey inward." Perhaps it is more of an egoic desire than anything, the feeling that going somewhere different will reveal more answers when the truth is that they are revealed from within.
@Bellamyj04 I was guided to India, not to find a teacher (as I hoped), but to learn more about myself. While in India, I realized that I was needed in this world to serve the lives of many, rather than the life of myself. I realized how much I already had to share and that my own learning would not be sitting at the feet of another person, but by the challenges that arise when mingling in society and serving others.
It is far easier to isolate oneself than it is to share oneself.
@Bellamyj04 You will be guided from within if you are to travel this world. Often in life what we expect to happen is very different from what does happen. Do not doubt your inner knowing. Always live in Love. Blessings and Love.

@h0rnyn1ppl3s Learned different methods of yoga -, authentic yoga from India, not Americanized exercise yoga. I learned Kundalini yoga, Swara yoga, and Hatha yoga. I also studied the original philosophies of India, such as Samkhya.
Welcome back! Looking forward to hearing all about you experiences in India! It's a trip I've wanted to make for a long time and will someday when my kids are a little more self-sufficient. Let us learn from you in the meantime!
