  • JonTrick !

i`m fron Brasil(Brazil for you) and...

OF COURSE THIS IS A BJJ !!!!!!!

  • damn.. that music is so distracting..

  • 6:30 , why can't he jump up and slam him on his back? back-to-back slam???

  • @pcjudosambo slams are illegal do to broken backs and skulls.

  • @ph33ric sad, it's legal in Sambo to do that ... and it's legal on the streets :-)

maybe one day they can change the rule.

  • @pcjudosambo cause that's not jiu jitsu

  • @JonTricky sorry, I didn't follow that ... what's not jiu jitsu?

  • @pcjudosambo Slamming him

  • pulling guard is such as stupid and unpractical move, it should be banned from BJJ competitions. There's a reason why Judo, Sambo, Wrestling, and other forms of grappling do not allow pull guard in competitions ... because it's not practical in real life. Why not stand there, take your opponent down and then proceed with the BJJ submission schematic ???

  • @pcjudosambo Pulling guard may not always be unpractical in real life. It's not like there are bustling streets full of people who can defend guard submissions. I'd wager that there are plenty of people that you'd get into a fight with at a party or something that can defend a takedown just fine. If you're on grass, or dirt, or another reasonable surface, I'd say pulling guard and breaking their shoulder with an omoplata sounds like a decent strategy.

  • @surtursfire agree except if the guy on the top starts ground and pounding you because even for a non-professional fighter, that's the right instinct ... to start punching you from the top. You're in the wrong position and not every person knows how to defend yourself like an MMA pro.

  • @pcjudosambo Well it all depends whether the person was trained in Gracie jiujitsu or sport jiujitsu, there is a huge difference....

  • @OffspringFTW65 I've seen a video of Royce Gracie stating that the only difference between GJJ and BJJ is the teaching method and philosophy.

    watch?v=f6jnoSbEKfw

So, honestly, I don't know if there is a difference, maybe there is a difference between schools but even Gracie in this video states that the art is the same but the difference is teaching method. But maybe I am wrong.

  • @pcjudosambo the difference in theories is in BJJ you are not getting punched in the face. GJJ considers the possibility of someone attacking you in the street. No rules, no weight classes. Its in the tittle here that these guys have to be under 65kg in this weight class. In the street you don't have the luxury of saying "Your 20kgs heavier than me so that wouldnt be fair". GJJ empowers the weak against the strong, and BJJ is a sport. Thats the difference :)

  • @stang4lyfe07 I do agree with you. But you can say that both BJJ and GJJ teach same techniques, but GJJ emphasizes more on self-defense (using those techniques) ... thus Royce was right, they are the same thing but teaching method is different (one teaches street self defense other teaches sport but both share techniques)... am I right in this case?

  • @pcjudosambo Yes, many techniques are interchangeable, but not all of them. Understanding the difference is absolutely crucial in a real fight. Watch 1:40, In a real street fight the guy attempting a triangle choke would be slammed on the ground (possibly concrete) a definite fight ender. GJJ teaches you to hook the leg to avoid being lifted, or if that fails just let go. But in the end both sides use armlocks chokes, and many techniques for general control of your opponent.

  • @stang4lyfe07 oh yeah, that's true.. in Combat Sambo if you get into a triangle, you're allowed to pick up and slam your opponent on his back, thus probably ending the fight. Hooking the leg while performing a triangle is actually a standard technique that is even taught to Judokas (hooking a leg during arm bar 2). But yes, I agree, not all will work ... in a street fight, I don't think you get time to pull X-guard or De La Riva guard or many more techniques that are made for Sport side of BJJ.

  • pff thats why he lost just accept cobrinha beat him , cobrinha is the man
