So... I know I'm gonna look like kind of a dumbass for askiing this, since I don't know much about music programming (I'm only just starting to buy software and stuff and I've been looking at and comparing differenet things) but umm... When you say you can "sequence" your own beats that means you can MAKE them YOURSELF and not use a beat somebody else make, by using one of those sequencing softwares you all recomended, right?
Sorry if I look like a dumbass, I'm just trying to get it straight.
when i use this with fruity loops and want to edit the specific beat it doesnt work,
for example, i select a beat i want from AD, then import it into FL but then if i want to change a bass drum or snare or whatever i go into piano roll, and the whole sequence is equivelant to one note on FL piano roll.
Hey great tool you got there, I just have a couple of questions, is it possible to make automation for any of the effects and stuff?
And also on the kit page, when you click on the icons, you hear the related sound, but depending where you hit (bottom or top of the icon), you get a different sound, how do I take advantage of that? Say I want to have like a sequence of fast kicks, fading in, kind of like determining a breakdown in a song, what would be the best thing to do?
People, any host can sequence with AD. I have it working in Reaper, and I'm using Reaper's piano roll to sequence my drums. It's also cool to use Toontrack EZplayer if you're in a hurry - load a couple of beats, arrange them, edit a little, off you go!
XLN specialized to get the best drum samples on not too big hard drive space. Why would they bother making a drum sequencer when EVERY DAW HOST HAS IT, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER?!
@dragonsagoth666 - i a newbie to daws and fl studio. I just want to be able to program note by note the fills and grooves but use addictive drums...is this possible and how could i do it with the sequencer in fl studio 9?
You open AD in FL, then right click the channel track and edit in piano roll. You then click away according to drum mapping of AD and you're making beats in no time. Easy as pie.
Anybody know of any software that sounds like this that I can actually use to create my own drum track on independant of a host, then import the independant drum track into a DAW?

I was so incredibly impressed by this software until the moment I realized you can not sequence your own drum beat with this. You need a device like midi drums or a piano midi keyboard and record your work live. I was wondering where the sequencer was through all the tutorials. This is only for actual drummers, not producers who compose their own midi music. What an absolute let down of the worst kind and imposed limitation on today's software technology. =*(
What hosts do you think qualify? I imagine Reason, FL Studio are good for it. But can Acid sequence them as well? What host do you run AD on? I noticed BFD2 has a built in sequencer.
I'm VERY new to digital recording and up till now I have only used drum machines. I have Logic Pro 8 and I would like to know can you actually create your own sequences in Addictive Drums instead of looking for loops? I just don't like being locked into loops and want to create what I want to fit my songs exactly. HELP!
You don't neceseraly need a keyboard... I used to program all the drums for my songs click by click the hard (and fawking slow) way on FLStudio6 and tweeking the velocities it sounded real... I'm getting a keyboard this year tough...
First, when installing it, make sure the VST is installed to your VST folder that FL Studio uses, if not, copy the .dll file to the VST folder FL uses. Then, right click any channel in the step sequencer, select insert, then more, then click fast scan. U'll see it highlighted in red. Then, open the piano roll, enable "typing to keyboard" (CTRL+T) and the keys on your keyboard to see the corresponding key in the piano roll! And voila, you can arrange your own drum patterns.
@ElvisBluntman777 Get a program like Sibelius and write them in drum notation and export it as midi. Then open addictive drums and import the midi file.
@GreatAndWorthy This is not a stand alone program. Something I discovered over 2 years ago. Get off my dick.

Hey SlabTzu!
Try using the sequencer in your host, usually works great.

just use this Vst Plugin with your Sequencer HOST, such as FL STudio 8 and YES, you can use each drum kit seperately in the Piano Roll~ haha
you don't have to settle on the pattern loops... which is super HOT!
this Vst plugin is off the chains! no Plastic sounds on this mofo, i'll tell you that much
ALL Professional, baby!
