I learned of this band from the New York Times bestselling "Kildar" series by: John Ringo.

The main character from the series loves the song "Winterborn" and thinks that it defines his life perfectly (which it does) He's a US Navy Seal. Anyway, pretty epic book, if you like this band I recommend reading the Kildar series, cuz Mike Harmon (The main character) is like the perfect companion to this style of music.

Cruxshadows have 7 full length unique albums, there's a bunch of stuff to like. If you want less sad and more crazy stick with newer stuff. Wishfire, Ethernaut, and Dream Cypher have ton of good stuff.
