man, i was buying birth control from campus when it was 15 dollars. When it jumped to 50, luckily for me i was able to go to a nearby planned parenthood and pay only 20 dollars with my insurance.
Just too many possible scenarios for the christian sect. to tolerate any nonconformancy, just simply intolerance. Even if it Could be for Married and dont want child, reduce painful periods, or even the possible positive effects on diabetes.
loganberry30: NO LIES! A toxic chemical in your bloodstream that "prevents" ovulation? That is only if you are on the super heavy dose, most unhealthy, and is why they give the lowest dose possible to "do the trick" which is your #3 item: spontaneously abort a concieved human. Your #2 item: "egg that does get released" Yeah, right, now the mucus is thick, ok. Nice healthy toxins in a woman's body. Wonderful and worth it, right? When you loose health, no money replaces it. Go Pharma! Ick
FYI, The Pill does not prevent conception, only the conceived human from remaining implanted and connected to the uterus. The toxic chemicals of The Pill in the body are yet to be fully understood. The breast are adversely affected due to hormonal changes unnatural to body functioning. The Pill doesn't prevent STD's of which most are non-symptomatic. Taking The Pill doesn't prevent pregnancy, it spontaneously aborts pregnancy with a 30% and greater fail rate. Learn about the spinbarkeit!!!
The pill prevents ovulation & thus CONCEPTION. Progesterone is administered, blocking release of gonadotropin releasing hormone which stops follicular stimulating hormone release preventing surge in lutenizing hormone & thus ovulation. Educate yourself B4 posting. This doesnt happen 100% of cycles due to incorrect use. Other effects (thickened mucus) prevent sperm from reaching ovum (fertilization) as a BACKUP. Prolife know the true facts, not the false ones with which youve been indoctrinated.
what if your not having sex. does that mean that birth control shouldn't be allowed for anyone. sounds pretty harsh like a vagina nazi. ahhaha
I take it to help my period and if i were to have sex who is it to say for me to stop. people need to stop being so ridculous and butt out of peoples personal lives
Birth control is a necessity for sexually active people who do not want children at the moment. Additionally, birth control pills are used to manage excessively heavy and painful periods, among other things.
You may not personally need them right now, but you have no right to say that nobody else does. You may also have religious objections to birth control in general, but that's not my problem.
Anyway, excellent video- I've sent a letter to my rep. encouraging him to back the act.
I have no desire to have a child at this stage in my life even though I am happily married, and most importantly I cannot afford to have a child right now. My husband and I have 70 grand in student loan debt and can barely make our minimum payments. Without affordable BC I would be forced to go on welfare and foodstamps in order to provide for my family. For me, birth control is a necessity. It may not be for you, but it is for me and countless others in my situation.

Good god, where on earth did you hear that shit? Spreading misinformation about reproductive health is reprehensible.
The function varies, but combination bcps do three things:
1- prevent ovulation
2- thicken cervical mucus to prevent sperm cells from fertilizing an egg that does get released
3- prevent implantation by thinning the uterine lining.
Obviously the pill doesn't prevent STI transmission. The pill effects women differently, so if you want to learn more, find an objective site.
