  • we had this played at my dad's funeral, December 21, 2011. He would have loved it.

  • Sure beats sitting in a church listening to people lie about how they felt about old Whatshisname

  • That gave me chills how beautiful the contrast between how happy and celebrational the music was and the mourning that people often associate with death.

  • Thats not a tuba thats a helicon. The helicon is the cousin to the sousaphone. The sousaphone is the marching form of a tuba.

  • where are the blacks ?

  • If anyone cries or plays Amazing Grace when I die, I will come back and haunt them until they die!

You better have one hell of a party and go on with your lives.

    I ain't coming back!

  • i am form new orleans. death is a time for rejoice not tears. we should all be able to go out in style!

  • My dad used to say that he wanted to out of time to this song. Alas, it's not a very customary song to play at funerals here. We played Amazing Grace for him instead.

  • This sounds like the kind of funeral one would NOT want to miss. What a big sendoff. RN

  • VERY WELL DONE!

  • Great idea! I had a Dixie band for my 80th; I want this for my funeral!

  • This is going to be at my funeral. They should be of rememberance and happiness. Not saddness and gloom!

  • great job jim

  • Thanks for this video. I thought everyone was buried in above ground tombs in New Orleans.

  • I look upon death to be as necessary to our constitution as sleep. We shall rise refreshed in the morning.- Benjamin Franklin

  • How do I get this CD? Or on my Ipod?

  • Just dump my body in the river, as long as the music is good.

  • Dude your comment made me laugh so much.

  • AMEN! I better not see a tear when I die to I WANT BIG SMILES AND GREAT JAZZ MUSIC!

  • How depressingly upbeat! I think I just want a solo tuba at my funeral. Heck, just stuff me in it and that's good enough.

  • Good one bro! As for me, burn and then blow!

  • Me too!

  • I want my funeral to be like this! A celebration of my life, rather than mourning my loss!

  • same here. that's so fun. makes loss bearable. :)

  • When I go, I'm having this played EXACTLY the same way as my casket is fed into the furnace, white doves released, champagne bottles opened, and the people cheering and clapping! That's how I want to be sent off...seriously!---

  • I agree. This is precisely how it should be. I, for one, do not want no tears shed for me. Instead, celebrate life...because life still goes on!!

  • makes you wanna die.!!!lol

  • Who are the musicians>

  • That's what I call going in style. Wish my

funeral could be like that too. Thanks,bw

  • i l0VE NEW 0RlEANs!!!!

  • not from nawleans, but that's how I want to be sent off :)

  • super muza chociaz taka stara :)

  • As a retired funeral director in Arizona, these musical funerals are such joy filled events, they take the tears out and fill the event with soul and euphoria. Mexican Music with harps and full strings and brass make the parting so sweet! Bravo to all!

  • what is the name of this song?

  • "When the Saints Go Marching In"

It is a classic in the states.

  • thanks. yes, unfortunately we dont have this style of funeral here, so i didnt know...:-)

  • usually this type of funeral is only in the french quarter, new orleans

  • In honor of a good friend who died today I listen to this, seeing as she, Barbara, had a place on bourbon street. May she rest in peace.

  • interesting...

  • Imagine that! I never saw one before and I GREW UP IN NEW ORLEANS! My grandfather played a regular trumpet and my grandmother played piano... All the many times I went with them when they played music and I NEVER saw one of those. The bell of that thing was really something. I wonder if it was passed down to that guy or something.

  • A flugelhorn --sounds interesting!

Not a bad sound -- and I grew up in New Orleans! This is just how we do things back home --before Katrina, that is!

  • No flugel, coronet. Old school "shepherd's crook" model.

  • Bravo! the way it should be done!

  • That's how I wanna go !!!

    Tommy"Gee"Gaston Musician Rockford,IL.

  • As it should be - hope mine is this good

  • Strange...
