  • Solidarity to all Starbucks workers, to all those involved in the struggle, period. Keep it up, and we will all be taking over the businesses and running them ourselves! Unlike most other unions, the IWW is non-political and advocates for worker ownership in the end. Don't back down. If Starbucks threatens to leave the country, then occupy the place.

  • i would have gone if it was not 2 years ago :)

  • Hilarious! Want a living wage? Get educated or start working your butt off and moving up the company line (probably not SBUX in your case)....I get a kick out of all you jokers.

  • Actually, what I get a kick out of is all the jokers who complain about high taxes and how the government is failing them. So, here's a chance to take back the power, take back control of the economy, take back the horrors of the recession. Many Starbucks workers are students who often need to rely on Financial Aid. That's paid for by TAXES. And about working your way? The latest management craze is the "flattening of the organization." I think you should attend a management class.

  • Capitalism will crumble, and we'll run things ourselves.

  • What the... what an idiot. 7 bucks and hour = good paying part time job. Go to college, or start your Partner develpment Plan to become a starbucks store manager. They make around $40,000 a year. That's a living wage and you make what you work for. A barista is not a real job. It pays for college expenses while you have loans or scholarships. Such a dumb point of view. Maybe you would have better luck at a local coffee shop that pays you in cash n' ciggarettes.

  • And, so, what's a real job? I really like how the division of labor has found its way into mainstream consciousness. What makes a barista any different than a doctor? Elements of pay, organization, job requirements? But, you're right, on one point. They should become a Starbucks manager. They all should become managers. They all should run the store. There should be no "manager," per se. And, then, they will likely be involved in much more than just "barista." Your argument is weak, very weak.

  • Wh wh wh whaaat????? Not paid enough? You idiot. I work for starbucks too. I make 8 dollars an hour. What do I do at starbucks? make retail coffee, clean, run the cash register. If you want to make a living wage in the "part time job" labor area, live with you parents, or got to college. You uneducated bitch.

  • "i dont remember being asked?" do you think you should have been asked? along with the thousands and thousands of other employees? you dont mention how many hours you work either.

  • Good piece, keep up the good work!

  • Outrageous oppression. Go get 'em tiger.
