Eu estive neste brilhante dia , inesquecível Concerto, nunca deixarei de lembrar. Meu pai ainda vivia nesta época e dedico este momento a ele. Viva o Genesis.
This is it! First aired in Finland on the New Year's Eve 1992-93, this was the first Genesis concert I saw, and still the best one! I wish they'd released this concert on DVD instead of the arena gig from the same tour.
Este es uno de los mejores temas de esta banda. En vivo es aún mejor pues Phil le pone sentimiento canta y practicamente interpreta. Estaba en el mejor de su voz... Ya te extrañamos Phil... No habrá otro igual... Gracias por tu musica... Gracias Genesis!!!!

The best song ever?! I guess so. Probably can only be compared with the Bohemian Rapsody from Queen in the variances of composesions... No other song is like DTLS.
I know this song was about the construction of the British railroads in the 1800s, but I can't help but think some of themes in the lyrics apply to the events of September 11th. Maybe it's because I'm American and have trouble relating to British history, but that's literally what I think of whenever I listen to this song.
@66hourenergy The images of stones falling like rain would fit the theme, taking the family-leaving parts in consideration you might think of the involved police and firefighters. I never looked at the song this way but you got a point.
@66hourenergy I think that's a great way of interpreting it- I think the song is for all people who have the courage to unselfishly put themselves in danger.
You're a genius for uploading this stuff, I agradesco of corazon.Este concert on VHS and it had lost it, please if you got Put him, please, do not know what it means to me this concert.
seriously, this is genesis, why do people even feel the need to relate justin bieber to music masters such a genesis...its not even the same freakin' genre or anything, that whole phrase is honestly getting really fucking old..we all know he sucks, we get it.
Memories. I was there at Knebworth that night in Aug 92. And the feeling i got watching this song live made me almost cry. the message to me was...don't give up ever... because there are people who (hundreds of years ago) have been through far worse..and they kept going. I never forgot the feeling it generated. Watching it again here 19 years on is odd.. Life really does reward you if you keep going and "fight back" as the lyric goes.
.....and we thought this was the last gig! Thankfully not, after this magic i got to see them at Wolves Civic Hall........NOTHING WILL EVER BEAT THEM.
@TheBenoslaw1234 My experience is that it's not so much the We Can't Dance album but rather Invisible Touch. We Can't Dance also satisfied older fans because of pieces like Driving The Last Spike, No Son Of Mine and Fading Lights, where IT only had Domino and The Brazilian for this. Land Of Confusion is sort of a compromise because of the video.
@saffi01 in opinion of most Polish reviewers We Can't Dance is criticized as one of the worst album. Anyway, for me IT is great. I understand your point that "there is only Domino and The Brazilian but 3xTonight is also great in its dark, mysterious atmosphere Moreover the rest of the songs has fantastic melodies. They're hits. Mayhaps just hits but all in all it satisfies me.
@TheBenoslaw1234 This is not reflecting my opinion as I like both albums equally, what I stated there were postings of a few users in the German Genesis fanclub. We Can't Dance to me is one of their best, the only Genesis album I ever disliked was Calling All Stations.
Thaks so so much for posting this. never knew they did this live. What a stunning performance and his vocals are on fire. A long and tough song to sing, but one of my favourites from this band. Almost had a tear watching this such a passionate performance. Happy Birthday Phil! You are an inspirational legend.
@DanaFritzy You're welcome, also thanks to you and all my viewers for making it possible to post this without the Youtube police chasing me. I see you're from the Netherlands so, dankjewel! ;)
Also, I agree to you, while No Son Of Mine is a tick ahead for me since I saw it live in 2007, Driving The Last Spike is undoubted number 2 for me, an amazing song with great story and use of instruments.
More Phil Collins videos coming up soon from the DITL-Tour (rare footage), as for Genesis thanks to my new YouTube limits expect a full version of Home By The Sea. =)
@sarcee1960 Yes, the show in Knebworth was the final concert of the We Can't Dance tour. The Turn It On Again tour however was not the first re-union, Genesis already re-united in 2000 for a special half-accoustic concert.
@SPeacock Not as far as I know from the tour dates. They were planning a couple of encore shows but that wasn't realized, Knebworth was definately the final show of the tour.
@SPeacock they did a show in 2008 at kensington it was the last ever concert of theirs my mate went and brought back photos the stage was the same as the when in rome show they were on stage about 4 hours apparently they played old classics like dance on a volcano and squonk
@SPeacock I looked it up and you both were actually right, I apologize for giving the wrong info here. Should mention I was only 5 years old back then ;) What's kinda embarassing is that I actually have the Prince's Trust concert here (everything except Throwing It All Away and Dreaming While You Sleep played from the regular set) which also has a special performance of Hold On My Heart, but I thought it was dating back earlier than Knebworth.
@LeeComber Haha sorry but you're wrong there, Kensington 2008 was the premiere of the When In Rome DVD with a Q&A session with the band, it was broadcasted in cinemas UK wide. The stage was the same as in Rome because it was in fact the concert in Rome.
..the American West , try laying track here mon !!She is six times the size and four
times the height.So..... I see this relating to this side of the pond.
Anyone ever hear of Phineas Gage !?! He had a helluva "dance"huh mon.
