But at the end of the day you pay extra for a better product, not made of plastic and without engineering issues. I recently bought three 2011 pc laptops and all of them had some serious flaws that pushed me to mac.

we don't like dealing with shitty quality products, so we get a macbook pro that can last you 10+ years as a laptop.

@custom91911 you are oversilifying my point, PC laptops are poorly engineered in alot of causes.

HP laptops, some with 40% failure rates.

Asus has engineering issues, with lack of EMI sheilding, this causes static audio, poor recording and music playback, unuseable.

And acer i had had terrible design, keys worl break constantly and it would overheat due to design not any dust.

I've never had this issue with apple, because its engineered with American, then put together in an automated factory

End of the day i've never regretted a macbook purchase, while i've regretted many PC purchases in the past.

Mac has crazy support even 8+ year old macs can get free service, but while macs can break like all electronics, your best bet for quality and realiability and long term insurance is a mac.

I'm a PC fanboy saying that, because its completely true when it comes to PC laptops vs Mac laptops. Everyone who has honestly used them without biased will likely agree.

I'm talking poorly engineered layouts, keyboards, trackpads, thermal design, audio design, emi sheilding, poor quality hardware in some cases (new, untested hw like some usb 3.0 controllers.

But for example, i went pc shopping this year and found many engineering issues in the physical design (not the cpu/hard drive hardware, but the design of the laptop itself.) They were constructed very poorly and this was across three different companies.

bloody hell, my GMA 950 Mac Mini is not supported, well anyways, i guess i will just stick with CoD 2, just bought it from the Mac App Store, CoD 1 was very fun, and ran extremely well at 1280x800 with normal details, i guess CoD 2 will push the gaming resolution down to 1024x768 or even 800x600 to run on normal details, but WHO CARES? if i really wanted to play hardcore games, i will just pop my old pc that i gave to my dad, since i switched last year, Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5, 8GB PC3-13300RAM

If that doesn't work you might have to enable it (and/or set the hotkeys) in the Universal Access settings through the System Preferences pane.

I don't have CoD4 installed any longer, so I can't check - but I can't imagine they've shut down the servers, and it's not match-making like the new CoD games so it shouldn't be possible either.

lol you have no idea what you are talking about. They can't shut a game like COD4 down unless litterally 0 people are playing it. It runs off of dedicated servers meaning activision/infinity ward have no control over the servers.

@ethicks00 Well I know what master servers are. Do you think the game magically searches the ENTIRE internet for servers running and makes a list of it? No, dedicated or regular ones sends their availability to master servers which are the ones that makes the server list available in the game. Master server downtime happens all the time, and if they wanted they could shut it down permanently, of course, you could still connect directly to servers and use third party software for server listings.

Ok I have a question.... I got my desktop Mac around 2008 as well but I have never updated the OS X and I'm not sure what I am running on now. Do I simply buy Snow leopard from the apple store and install it so its version 10.5, then I can run Call of Duty and things like xfire on my mac?

@flare985 Snow Leopard is actually 10.6 so if you have good ol' Leopard which is 10.5, that's good enough. If it's 10.4, you'll have to update, yes, and might as well go for Snow Leopard, I guess.

If you wanna figure out what version you have you just click the  in the upper left corner of your screen (menu bar) and select "About This Mac"

I don't know if there's a Mac version of Xfire though... May be able to run it through CrossOver (app that'll let you run some Windows apps directly in OSX)
