  • So technically, shouldn't this be called "The Ugly Chicken?"

  • ~~~ Hmmmmmmmm,,,Just as well I believe in Miracles!,,,heh, heh,,,,,how else could a 'choock' give birth to a 'duck' that turns into a 'swan'? ,,,,lol,,,, ~~~

  • A hen giving birth to a ducking?

  • Kjjnjnj

  • Some people here should stop bitching about this cartoon being racist, the duck might just be a baby mallard.

  • @deusirae76 No kidding, the animators simply had to differentiate between a chicken and a duck and chicks are always light colored.

  • Cutie!

Doesn't make sense for the original story...chickens?

  • That's a chicken. Not a duck.

  • Why does he ugly duckling has to be black? RACIST BASTARDS!

  • i think the mother is bi-polar......she doesnt deserve that duckling......

  • bitch of a hen smackin her kid around

  • I love how the black one looks like my brother.

  • I fucking cried while watching it!!! T.T

  • Always known about this version, but never saw it. Thanks for posting!

  • I didn't know Disney had done this 'Duckling' before his best-known version (1939), so thank you very much for posting!!

  • The lesson: if you are different from the group then you wont be accepted until you save their lives.

  • A cartoon like this warms your heart!

  • this is where it happened, this was the introduction of pathos into the animated cartoon that Walt Disney had been aiming for, that brought his cartoons to a level above any others, & they would keep getting better too. But it was Dick Lundy who did it first, and this is where he did it, with this simple little duck here

  • if not for this here duck of Lundys, there would have been no Dumbo, no flying mouse even, no Lambert or Ferdinand. elmer too, no elmer

  • I mean, this cartune may have not been all that big at the box office, but for Disney studios it was a freakin epiphiny

  • @nastyfukker you misspelled cartoon and epiphany-_-

  • @DudeOpen awww, did i do that? welllll excuuuse me, sorry that i hurt your feeling. Maybe I should follow the rules closer, right, cause we all know how nobody mispells on the internet, right? sure thing

  • @nastyfukker who doesnt know how to spell cartoon raise your hands.

  • @nastyfukker ok first off, cartoon was way off. a third grade vocab i believe. might even be second. misspelling epiphany may be understandable, but not cartoon. youre just bad lol

  • What are they - ducks or chickens?

  • LOVED how it ended! He seemed like the big brother taking care of his baby sisters. Too sweet!

  • i watched this without sound, and i liked it. :)

  • Bad mom, what if her duckling doesn't look nice! She should still love him.

  • @npsari1 its just the 30's, back when a LOT of things where different.

  • @npsari1

If you want a version that has that, watch the Modern Classics of Hans Christian Andersen. The mom is a lot nicer, and the ending is very satisfactory.

  • oh i like this one :)

  • 3:33 I love how only the pigs are oblivious to the tornado. xD

  • Un chef-d'oeuvre !

  • This is not as cool as the 1939 one , but this one is sadder tho . Both are , if you let me think

  • @davidtimof The 1939 one is sadder imo. There's something heroic about the 1931 one, the 1939 one is just a series of humiliations. Both are great anyway.

  • There's Clarabelle Cow! 2:38

  • at 2:41, its like he is saying to the cow: MOM? and the cow is like: NOOOOO! :P

  • Thats a shame. The Ugly Duckling wasn't ugly, he was just black. Isn't that some racist bull....

  • I KNOW HOW IT FEELS.

I am a bird. Tuit, tuit.
