@outasync44 i know this was about 10 months a go... but i just got done rereading the giver.. i also thought that there were no cars in the giver but in one of the chapters when the giver and jonas are making a plan it is described that the giver will order a vehicle and a driver...and it talks about where he has jonas hide in a storage area of the vehicle.. i'm not saying your wrong or anything because i thought the same thing because they just ride bikes... but thats what it says in the book..

there were cars, they just weren't used in the community. he was supposed to take the pills for the stirrings, because they needed for everyone to stay pure.and because of the sameness,they weren't allowed to feel ecstacy (as in orgasm) , they had children through the birthmothers (they mention them somewhere in the beginning of the book, when lily says she wants to be a birthmother) remember, everything has to be the same, it's a utopia.

1. No music- a movie with no music isnt good (except " I Am Legend")

2. Color- if you've read the book, at first you dont know that there's no color, so it takes away that surprise when you figure it out.
