@whitefangjacklondon hes not dead, secret ending in dirge of cerebris shows that, hes deep underground but he frees himself. If you watch it note that dirge of cerebris was made BEFORE Crisis core so the english voicing is different and so is his armour which they changed in CC

Genesis should be a hidden/bonus character in Dissidia 012 (DuoDecim), it'd be awesome and he could be a potential rival for Sephiroth. Either way, seeing as how Squeenix has said that the compilation will continue and end on 2020, we can assume at least one Genesis-centered game will be produced, as he's confirmed alive at the end of DoC. :)

they have wings because of their Jenova cells, thats why and Sephiroth isn't done yet even after having him say "I will never be a memory" the staff even hinted at the fact he will be back, because they haven't shown any of his true powers in ACC he was toying with Cloud, even in Angelic form, notice how he didn't dilute into the lifestream he just dissepated, He wasn't killed by the omnislash, Kadaj's body was too damaged to keep the link to Sephiroth, thats why Sephiroth "Vanished".
one problem though, the only other bodies he could consume (Yazoo and Loz) were most likely destroyed in the Materia explosion after Clouds fight with Sephiroth... if he comes back, either they werent destroyed or he finds some way to return...
Yazoo and Loz were merely his Remnants he doesn't need them to return, any form of Jenova cell he can manipulate especailly now Gackt/genesis has returned who was heavily enduced with jenova cells, and these underground soldiers left over from the battle in DoC, Sephiroth will never die off his will to win is too strong to be dissolved in the lifestream, Genesis/gackt is the only one with a chance now.
why does everyone refer to him as Gackt/Genesis? Gackt is who he is designed after, not his name...
and thats true, I hadnt thought of that, its just easier that way, becasue they give him a physical form to manipulate.

I don't think appearances matter much in Dirge of Cerebus, I mean, seriously have you seen Vincent in the form he uses in the final battles. Genesis isn't topping that in terms being ridiculously obviously evil. The FFVII Ultimacia Guide says that Genesis, now that Sephiroth and Angeal are gone wants to be the one to protect the planet. And apparently wants Weiss to help him.

Well Genesis in CC wasn't so much concerned with being evil as much as living out what LOVELESS foretold and getting rid of the degradeation. He'll do whatever he think is best in the future. Not to say that he'll be right. Undoubtably we'll need to fight Genesis and Weiss/Nero in the next game.
Although many do say she banished him, I'd like to make the point that he does inch back to consciousness for whatever time. So he is not completely incapitated. Plus, God knows what happens to him in UnderGround.
As a matter of fact, darknesstoholy, Minerva didn't banish Genesis - but more or less told him that it wasn't his time to join the lifestream, and so granted his lifelong wish of surmounting death after he gained his SOLDIER honor once more. And as for Deepground, it's presumed he was there for some time - since he has new clothing in the DoC secret ending.
I agree with your theory as well. She seemed a little sad to see his face but perhaps that is just how she looks regardless. Who knows? Minerva's role is a mysterious one overall aside from the fact she is some sort of "Goddess". I hope SquarEnix clarifies things up.
The Ultimania is a giant book made by Square Enix giving very detailed descriptions of things within a certain game - they've done this with the Compilation of FFVII, VIII, and a few others.

@xxDarkestCloudxx I'm gonna agree with you partially on this. Sephiroth is overrated, but so is Cloud. Everytime Cloud beat Sephiroth, it was from something that cloud pulled out of his at the last minute and got lucky. In my opinion, Zack was the better one.

they have wings because of their Jenova cells, thats why and Sephiroth isn't done yet even after having him say "I will never be a memory" the staff even hinted at the fact he will be back, because they haven't shown any of his true powers in ACC he was toying with Cloud, even in Angelic form, notice how he didn't dilute into the lifestream he just dissepated, He wasn't killed by the omnislash, Kadaj's body was too damaged to keep the link to Sephiroth, thats why Sephiroth "Vanished".

one problem though, the only other bodies he could consume (Yazoo and Loz) were most likely destroyed in the Materia explosion after Clouds fight with Sephiroth... if he comes back, either they werent destroyed or he finds some way to return...

Yazoo and Loz were merely his Remnants he doesn't need them to return, any form of Jenova cell he can manipulate especailly now Gackt/genesis has returned who was heavily enduced with jenova cells, and these underground soldiers left over from the battle in DoC, Sephiroth will never die off his will to win is too strong to be dissolved in the lifestream, Genesis/gackt is the only one with a chance now.

and thats true, I hadnt thought of that, its just easier that way, becasue they give him a physical form to manipulate.
I think if he were to get anymore determined to achieve this goal, he would actually merge with and be able to manipulate the lifestream, thus finally being able to destroy the planet

lmfao, well i think kadaj should be an Individual, even though he is a remnant of Big Bro, he does get to go with Aerith and the like, so i guess he kind of is his own character, I mean if he was so closely connected to Sephiroth he would have realised he isn't Bringing Jenova back this is Sephiroth returning again, although Sephiroth's plan was for a true reunion of all the family (hence the ritual set in place at the Meteorfall memorial, with the kids in a circle and such getting Jenova back)

I don't think appearances matter much in Dirge of Cerebus, I mean, seriously have you seen Vincent in the form he uses in the final battles. Genesis isn't topping that in terms being ridiculously obviously evil. The FFVII Ultimacia Guide says that Genesis, now that Sephiroth and Angeal are gone wants to be the one to protect the planet. And apparently wants Weiss to help him.

Well Genesis in CC wasn't so much concerned with being evil as much as living out what LOVELESS foretold and getting rid of the degradeation. He'll do whatever he think is best in the future. Not to say that he'll be right. Undoubtably we'll need to fight Genesis and Weiss/Nero in the next game.

As a matter of fact, darknesstoholy, Minerva didn't banish Genesis - but more or less told him that it wasn't his time to join the lifestream, and so granted his lifelong wish of surmounting death after he gained his SOLDIER honor once more. And as for Deepground, it's presumed he was there for some time - since he has new clothing in the DoC secret ending.

I agree with your theory as well. She seemed a little sad to see his face but perhaps that is just how she looks regardless. Who knows? Minerva's role is a mysterious one overall aside from the fact she is some sort of "Goddess". I hope SquarEnix clarifies things up.
