This game would've been real great if Crapcom hadn't toned down some of their SNK characters. Let alone take out some of the stuff SNK had in The King of Fighters '98.

It's good but MvC 2 is way better. To be honest I like playing CvS through Mugen, it's better than playing it on the console.

To me they MvC and CvS are two totally different games. If you like KoF and SF traditional style, then CvS is better. But if you want your air combo and Guilty Gear -like graphics MvC is that type of game. Both are great yet are different at the same time.

Agreed, and I do like both as well. I just thought CVS2 sucked compared to CVS1 or CVS pro. Were as MVC2 was way better than it's prequel.

Presentation-wise i totally agree. Although the game mechanics were way better in CvS2, it just doesnt have the flare and creativeness in presenting it to you in its second iteration.

What's up with that? In the 2nd instalment the backgrounds looked a lot worse, as did the lifebars and menus (yellow squares everywhere). And in the first game you had a lot of replay value because there was so much to unlock. To me it just looked like capcom wanted to quickly throw out another 2-d vs game when they made CVS2 and didn't put a lot of effort into making it.
