For anyone who knows anything about David Schultz this promo is disgusting because he is an admitted racist. In a shoot interview he stated that he was partially raised by a black woman around black kids yet now they could never eat at his table.
People didn't get as caught up on race in 1984 as they do today. Heels could use that for cheap heat back then. White heels would use race, but so would heels of different races. I remember more than once Mr. Fuji referring to an opponent as "Honky".

This is Wrestling Heel 101. Great stuff from the kayfabe days! What people need to realize is that in the end, the heel pays for what he's done/said. The audience in Philly was probably supper jacked and went home feeling great...Tony & Rocky won that night, kept the belts and exposed Piper & Schultz as the cowards they were (pretending to be). This was all said by Schultz with the knowledge of how things were going to go down. It was masterfully done.

This is Wrestling Heel 101. Great stuff from the kayfabe days! What people need to realize is that in the end, the heel pays for what he's done/said. The audience in Philly was probably supper jacked and went home feeling great...Tony & Rocky won that night, kept the belts and exposed Piper & Schultz as the cowards they were (pretending to be). This was all said by Schultz with the knowledge of how things were going to go down. It was masterfully done.
