cause when it comes to deal whit other skirmishers or achers units in the expansions, then they dont takes any more damege from other skirmishers, making cannons more usefull, but gives skirms and archers a bonus against light cav, whit other words more micro manegment. in the original they also damege more against other skirmishers.

i think this video is made whit atleast one of the expansion (units dont die as fast in the video)

thats not a real result, first, the voltigeours have to be in front, because when you only send them in groups of 50 the cassadors have more oportunities to destroy them, if you do the same with the cassadors the voltigeour will win, you have to put them near and shoot at the same time to be a real battle, and, in th final, its a tie

@AOEfrancedefender The first part of that is true however you also have to take into account the units specs. Cassadors (Portugal) are by far the best ranged infantry out of all of the civilizations and they also have an advantage against other infantry. So if the Cassadors and the Voltigeurs were to face off like you said in the second half of your response then the cassadors would still win.

That was an obvious outcome. Cassadors are one of the strongest ranged infantry units in the game and on top of that they have an advantage against other infantry units. They had no chance of losing even if the dude controlling them didn't deploy them that well. Not a particularly spectacular battle, if the red dude wanted to win he should have picked off small portions of the cassadors instead of a full frontal assault, not very strategical people are they.

For a real strategy game play Decisive Battles - Battles in Normandy or play Kharkov: Disaster on the Dnepr. When you brain gets a workout instead of a mouseclicking fest - then you are playing a real strategy game.

*sigh* poor micro management of troops: notice how when the voltigeurs initially attack, the guys in the front of the collumn stop as soon as they get in range of the enemy to fire, leaving the guys behind them out of range and having to walk around the guys in front of them to get in range. Make sure that most of your troops are in range of the enemy before ou tell them to attack. You get more firepower out of them sooner this way.

I have spotted the reason why you won the battle: At 1:06 your opponent ordered an unit to begin the charge,but it got in disadvantage because good part of your army attacked the enemy unit and destroyed it, then unit by unit have been being eliminated by your huge army.That's one of the best strategies I know:Gathering your army together and destroying the enemy one by one.Beautiful strategy!!!!!
