I love this man! He is 80 years old and sat in the street with me and other activists at Quantico, surrounded by riot police, to protest the imprisonment and torture of Bradley Manning. It is our right to know the facts Bradley uncovered. He obeyed the law (USC Art.18:4) under extreme duress. He only "endangered" criminal officials as Daniel did. The main factor is that people don't want to go back to the core principles of freedom and total understanding of what the role of government actually is. The government has become so intertwined and dynamic in the economy that if you were to diminish it's power, many sectors of the economy would fall into free fall. To put it another way, it's like the virus that has already infected all the DNA.

I just saw this film. It is the most moving documentary I've seen. I don't know how anyone cannot see the parallels between this and US aggression in the Mideast now. The Pentagon Papers, fascinating isn't it? I wonder, what would happen if we knew, I mean really knew, the whole truth about a lot of the things our government gets up to? What if we knew everything that our government knows about the war in Iraq for instance. If we could find out the whole truth of just 1% of the things our government does and knows. Would people revolt, or would we agree with what is being done? Of course there would be a divide but I wonder where most would stand.
