The way I see it without the customers dollar they have no successful business.I hate seeing this anywhere especially in the black community where some of these people run these businesses.What would work is everyone unifying & no one shopping at that store & I bet that will get their attention because they'll be losing profits lol.Why invest money in a business where they are gonna mistreat the patrons.

At my store when black males come in I always say, "Hello. How are you doing today?" They ALWAYS just look at me with a blank stare and don't even respond. Then I ask, "Can I help you find anything?" Again, just a blank stare. Then when they do want to see something, in order to get my attention they say, "Say, say, say, say, say..." I walk over there and they ask, "Is dis foty dolla?" when there is a large sticker on the product that clearly shows $40. Only thing worse is an old white guy!

I am a black woman and I work in retail. I live in Atlanta, Ga which is very diverese city. My last issue of rude, bad customer service was from my "own race", especially women, and in professional setting at that (doctor's office). I hear comments from African-Amer. stating that they get better customer service in a predominately white areas, and I personally know African-Americans who prefer to shop in predominately white areas because they feel they get better service. Just an observation.

I think the scariest thing that happened to me was when I was a cashier and after ringing out an order the customer left..maybe a minute went by and he came back in and walked up to me and asked "did you say thank you"? i was caught off guard at first and said oh yeah thanks i'm glad shopped here..i don't know why but i felt like i would get killed or something after work if i would of said no..it was not a normal situation.

I am not trying to discount your pain and aggravation, but it has been my experience that people ''attract'' good service based on things OTHER than race. I am, for the most part, treated well when I shop. I think you are getting backlash because of the way so many BM MISBEHAVE in public places. Now, most people expect for you, as a BM, to misbehave. Even if you do not, they may still shy away from being nice to you because they have been left with such a bad impression of BM.

I know that sometimes cust svc is messed up becuz of the messed up customers. I've seen where the customer picks @ the cashier/cust svc rep..talked to that person like they didn't mean nothing to them, try to cause the person to get fired, miscount money etc.. So I can imagine how they felt the rest of the day. What I'm saying, it's not all about race, it's about how ppl treat ppl period!

Other people will see it as something that's not their problem even though they are part of the society that it's happening in which makes it everybody's problem.
