As for the speaker - what a dumbass. Davis was a murderer. Anyone who spent more than 5 minutes studying the case could gather that - hence why 20 years worth of appeals didn't overturn the initial decision. Also why the SCOTUS (including Sotomayor and Kagen who are Obama appointees) unanimously decided against a stay of execution.

They killed Troy instead of Sylvester 'Red' Coles cuz Troy was a better man. There are 9 Justices on the Supreme Court. A quorum to hear and decide a case is 6. I'm certainly not a fan of Thomas but wont place the blame and/or responsibility on him. I didn't expect the President to step in he is not a Saviour. I do know this case was fully decided the moment the witnesses changed their statements and the system didn't work AT THAT POINT. It's worth remembering, as well - and this is not to discount the racism that has long been part of "American justice" - that a white man, innocent as Troy Davis - was put to death in Texas by Rick Perry. The justice system has run amock and it is not only african-americans who are being unjustly incarcerated or murdered, it's the poor and middle-class from all races. It is all races that must stand united to defeat this unjust system. Thanks.
