No doubt the Oasys its one of the most powerful keyboards out there. But the Kurzweil K2600XS is just as amazing as the Oasys (for me), maybe not visualy with the touch screen and the lights, but sonicaly.... its a joy to play. And a lot of JR signature sounds were created in the Kurz.weil.

The OASYS was the ultimate flagship when it was released in 2005. But the price was way too high for the average musician.

@aafjellstromofficial Thanks, it's an amazing keyboard no doubt, but the time Jordan puts in with key mapping and layering sounds is really key (excuse the pun) I achieve similar results with my Roland Fantom X6 and Triton, and even the rack Roland Super JV1080 with a few nice cards in it too, and I just can't help playing my Roland JP8000 a lot, love tweaking !

Still Korg woudn't fix the switching problem of sounds muting when changing presets in combi mode. Even lower cost machines, like the XS series have seamless switching between presets or performances. And you would think that a 7 grand workstation woudn't had this problem!!!

@AL7X7 Oasys was made into a PCI computer card as well. You can still find them on Ebay provided you can make a pc with windows 98 on it you can have the core synth engine.

really weird marketing from Korg....the Oasys is maybe a good instrument to a pro working musician like Rudess, but for everybody else, the price is ridicolously high. For that money I will buy a good keyboard workstation, a good PC, a complete set of libraries from Eastwest, and save the rest of the money.

At this price, the Oasys should overwhelm with greatness. Very good is not good enough to make me fork out that much money on a keyboard.

I think that he has somekind of monitoring system in the room off camera... If you want to get a sound out of your board you need somekind of amplification wether it is keyboard amp or pa or a active monitor or something... I use just headphones for sound design and playing with myself or sometimes I use regular computer desktop speakers... with my band I use PA system and on the gigs I use floor monitors for myself and play thru the PA

meko and neko are software and u waste more time making music on them its just a computer with vsts (very simple) but the other real equipment like oasys and motif xs and roland fantom g are somthing amazing with almost realistic sounds loaded on em but neko nah sorry man i dont like to let the digital stuff be my main equipment lol websites and ppl are giving vsts for free cuz they cant sound like the actuall hardware at all.dr dre and scott storch and derek are the proof of that.

You are correct 'meko and neko are software,' but how can they be a waste of time, your not making sense, they will save you time and money if your in the business of making money, if not just time. Analogue sound can not be beaten at the moment, but remember they are both synthetic sounds non organic. Just like Protools vs Real to Real and CD vs Vinyl. My conclusion is i agree with you. But Openlabs could get you in the game to make the money to buy the analogue gear you would like.

This keyboard is very good even though that ... here in Brazil it ta costing 17.500,00 30.000,00 thousand thousand dollar equivalent. In addition to being very expensive is sold only with 88 keys. More is a thrilling instrument.

the maximum range of velocity is from 0 to 127,and from all that layers you get one voice who behave different when you push key on your keyboard harder or softer,so when you press softly the key,you'll get the organ sound,when you press harder you'll get guitar sound.

It doesn't matter if you are from Norway or whatever country. The OASYS was officially discontinued several months ago. If you buy one now, you are buying an expensive orphan workstation. Either get something else, or wait a couple years until Korg announces an expensive successor to the OASYS.
