I felt the same way about Newcastle brown when I first began drinking beer. It used to be the only alternative to the macro lagers at any of my local bars, so I feel the same nostalgia as you do. Over the years though i've kinda developed a distaste for it, and i'm not sure that i would like the IPA (it's generally a just a Heineken brand now anyway and has nothing to do with the historical Newcastle Brewery), but I hear they are coming out with an ESB that I may like to try. Cheers!
IPA is always best when on pumps, bottles and tins come no where near I don't think

Didn't know they had an IPA. But it looks like the American IPA's are still in the lead.
