Well you might argue that the ref should have stopped the match earlier. When I saw it my reaction was, stop it, when I saw a the first big right hand punch. Slowmoing the rewind I see that he's more or less out after the first punch. However, the ref did stopped it when Codrington dropped his guard and that is how it's done, mostly.

The two guys calling the fight both say he was "out" ("out on his feet" and "defenseless") before the last two punches. They know more than we do.
