@Giesji: No, nobody is telling you that. The video called it a pharynx. Google it. It's not analogous to a human pharynx in flatworms, though. Planaria both eat through it and excrete through it. So, I suppose you could say they eat through their assholes. I wouldn't say that, but you probably would.

@Giesji: Not only did I read it, I watched the video. A pharynx isn't a dick. (Actually, I learned all about planaria in high school back in the 'seventies, so I already knew what it was.) Maybe feigning stupidity isn't the best form of humor to use in text. You have to cross your eyes and imitate Goofy to pull off something like, "Are you telling me that this thing eats with its 'dick'?!?"

If you go to your local creek, and place some meat in the creek, and return a few hours later, there should be some flatworms on there. That's how my bio teacher got them

Planaria can be prevented by proper gravel vacuuming and maintenance, which in turn removes all that "nasty rubbish" anyway.

You can only love them if your fish do not breed and if you do not have shrimps in your tank.
