  • smoking a dupie sure makes this song sure sound alot better...love the blues...

  • Has any Caucasian ever come close to voices like Wolf's? The bar is sooo high. It's whole grain bread over white bread.

  • @kentucksoldiersson Skin color doesn't make you a good musician, nor effect the sound of your voice, its the soul of the man that does.

  • @kentucksoldiersson Tom Waits.

  • @kentucksoldiersson Captain Beefheart

  • @kentucksoldiersson Frank zappa, captain beefheart but this is true inspiration.

  • I don't want the Blues to get too popular so they can start f@cking it up like mainstream has done to all other genres of music.

  • and back over Her?

  • I just wanna lay a woman down in the back of my car to this song

  • GOING DOWN SLOW

    (James Burke Oden)

  • i love it

  • the very first song I heard from Howlin' Wolf and that GUITAR player! Hit me hard back in '84 and now here it is again making the same magic..." I did NOT say I was a millionaire...." hahha

  • R.I.P for the great Hubert Sumlin, The Wolf's main guitar man. His playing was down to the bones blue. Read some great intervews that he gave about playing with Howlin Wolf that were great!

  • RIP PATRICE

  • Connects you to reality, earth, sea, sky, stars, air....

  • The Wolf and Hubert are reunited, I'll spend the evening listening to everything...

  • im 16 and when adults ask me wht music i like i say hip hop.. but id rathor listen to the blues anyday.... and they look at me like i just crawled out of a hole.

  • there are two versions of this record, this had to be one perhaps on stage.the other one is somewhat different, most of the guitar is a little louder than the other one,and the beat is a little different as well.

  • Whie In my time of dying is a good one for when you feel that grasp of death, This one is just as powerfull if not more so. (I guess it depends on your situation)

  • @SlideQtar Don't worry dude, it's not your time yet.

  • this has been radio Excentric taking you back to the days of Mr Howlin Wolf, ooh yeh he really did moan in the moonlight, and our next song we are going to listen to tonighta! is (drum roll) its the legend himself, Jimi hendrix. This is for all you foxeh ladehs out there, you kno what im talking fellahs! Yerr foxehh ladehhhhh...

  • sure hope the next one will be 62... so what's our church bingo prize this week anyway? :o

  • 25 years old and listening

  • @mresistenciaviva 15 and listenin

  • @mresistenciaviva What do you want a medal?

  • This is a terrific recording. The guitar tone is incredible. I saw Wolf at an all day show at Meadowbrook outside Detroit. He had Procul Harum backing him up, because they were on the show too. Amazing music. Those boys could play blues, and they were positively reverent.

  • This is a terrific recording. The guitar tone is incredible.

  • is that muddy talking?

  • Who cares if this is one Clapton's favorites? Clapton couldn't reproduce this like the Wolf does it here.. no way. Limey's just ripped off the blues.

  • beleive it or not, theres alot more teenagers out here that litsen to this than you people seem to think. me and every one of my friends make this kind of music everyday, not only litsen to it.

just letting you know this music will never die, we're just trying to make sure we can live up to old legacy.

  • @VVhoShotYa hell yeah man, im sixteen and we start every jam sesh with a quick blues jam

  • @ShoveDaddy So do we!!!!

  • @VVhoShotYa dude, no one cares that you're a teenager listening to music like half a century old. You know who else was? Every single person that listens to this music and is not a teenager. Seriously, the world is way bigger than you've yet learned, it's gonna be an eye opener for someone with your perspective for sure.

Anyway, aside from that probably sounding douchey to you, good luck with the music.

Also, remember to not give a fuck what your heroes would think of you.

  • @fatfacerick lay off the kids you punk ass sissy, pick on someone ur own age.

  • @VVhoShotYa I think that's fantastic! The only way for great music to survive if generations keep it alive, and as far as the blues go, Wolf is the King, no doubt. So thank you, friend!!!

  • @VVhoShotYa Me and my friends too man.I feel you. The blues will never die,or until the day that everyone will be happy. And i cant see that day comin'.

"When you aint got no money to pay your tax rent - you got the blues" Every single month.

  • @VVhoShotYa im a teenager and i love this kind of music.

  • This is one of the "ULTIMATE" blues songs of ALL TIME! Howln' Wolf really lived out this song in his last days. He got sick and was literally dying and his own mother continued to disown him all the way to the grave because he played the devil's music, i.e. the blues.

  • Super job on the guitar by the one and only Hubert Sumlin..he's stinging..this is one of Clapton's favorite guitar renditions

  • Ah yes the mighty wolf is truly howling ahhhhwhhooooo! yeah baby.

  • utter class and that voice? fantastic

  • isnt it just great how he's just talking to us at the beginning

  • I'm still in the womb and I like this.

  • Hubert Sumlin's touch is amazing, he's got the sickest vibrato, that perfect 'bee sting' tone

  • Willie Dixon and the wolf, how much better can it really get

  • Perhaps the greatest blues recording ever to be made. Many thanks for posting.

The world is not the same without the Wolf !

  • No person should ever speak ill of The Wolf. That is probably somewhere in the Bible.

  • SOPRANOS

  • I mean, too much!!!

  • Great!!! Two giants: Howling Wolf and Willie Dixon, together in this jewel. To much!!!

  • Killer.

  • the most powerful voice of the blues!!! Thanks Adfectus!

  • EVERYONE!!! Shhhhhhhhh. Put on your headphones and listen to this awesome kitty possem.

  • they gonna bury me to this tune!!!

  • When Led Zeppelin on Whole lotta love on "How the west was won" started playing this I almost lost my mind

  • please write my mama

  • How can someone say that SRV is a great Bluesman is beyond me... This is a great bluesman right here!

  • @boxingin What are you talking about. BB king said if he had a white sun SRV was it. They gave him credit and you should to. Their all great blues players.

  • @teamhex If he had a white "sun" or son.... I guess you must mean sun indeed because SRV is far from being a great blues man. And please post a link or some other proof where B.B King said such thing about the blues copycat SRV.. Please do.

  • @boxingin Ohhh here we go a blues purest here to trash rock...and as far as the typo...really? I miss one letter and you have to bring it up? You know exactly what I meant.

“I've said that playing the blues is like having to be black twice. Stevie [Ray Vaughan] missed on both counts, but I never noticed.”

“I don't think anybody steals anything; all of us borrow.”

As soon as I find the direct "son" quote....ill post it. I know I say it and it may be Albert king, but it was one of 'em either way

  • @teamhex Ohhh here we go with a lyar who quotes B.B King but yet he (you) can shows us the evidence.. shut up idiot and go and crawl back into your hole!

  • @boxingin U have yet to make your argument....why is he not a good bluesman? You think Hendrix is?

  • @boxingin btw is the "lyar" thing a setup to get me to say something so you can call me a hypocrite or was a genuine typo? I mean let take a look at the situation, your in your 40's arguing with a 23 year old online. SRV may not have invented the blues, but he idolized and played the blues pretty well. Just because its not Delta or Chicago your going to cut him down? Guitar is guitar and "rock blues" is just as good. Give credit where its due and stop selling him short.

  • AFTER WOLF PASSED HUBERT FUCKEN QUIT PLAYING THE BLUES BUT ONCE A BLUES MOTHERFUCKER ALWAYS THE BLUES MOTHERFUCKER

WOLF DIED PLAYING THE BLUES HUBERT ALSO WANTS TO GO THE SAME WAY AND I AM IN TATAL AGREEMENT WITH HIM YOU CAN PLAY OTHER SHIT BUT YOU ALWAYS COME HOME TO CHICAGO WHERE THERE IS LOTS OF FUCKEN FRIENDS WHO CARES WHEN YOUR DOWN AND OUT

  • WOLF WAS WANTING TO SEE HIS MOTHER BEFORE HE WAS DYING AND SENT FOR HER WITH PLANE TICKET AND LETTER SHE NEVER CAME BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT WOLF HER SON WAS PLAYING DEVILS MUSIC WOLF CRIED TELLING HUBERT ABOUT IT

  • somebody teach me

  • im 23 years old and i now this song like the back of my hand. i luv this. even before the movie. my people raised me up off of that real blues. nothing like these days. blues reminds me of hiphop. it aint the same.

  • @tweezee your 23? Congratulations, i didnt know people could get to that age....your an amazing feat of the human race. /Sarcasm

I digress though, cause Howling Wolf is just a BEAST!

  • @GranDrJ maybe where you come from thats common. but i aint never met anybody in my age range that likes howling wolf. so yeah it is a amazing feat.

  • @GranDrJ TROLL ALERT!

  • @tweezee no shit. kids our age should be into this.

not the garbage you hear today.. ask any (good, rhythmic) rock band if they're influenced by the blues..

kids dont care about that.. they just wanna hear the new shit

pathetic. this is where it all started

  • @tweezee same here im 22 in a city where no one my age no the greatness of these artist like the wolf, magic sam, and otis rush.

  • @tweezee Well I'm 15 and I'm the only one that really appreciates the blues

    It's quite sad, really

  • @CommunistDancefloor 15 wow thats great. i was the same way when i was your age. as of late im taking my shot at trying to learn how to play blues (only delta blues thou) i really like the sounds of Robert Johnson, Honeyboy Edwards and Son House. Check out these names if you have not already.

  • @tweezee look up Albert King, please come back to me. Trust me u wont be disappointed!

  • @tweezee I'm a young fella. I don't only like the blues. I got the blues, so I make blues to make me feel better. Blues harp is my instrument, I did put a video on youtube for other people to see, but it hasn't been viewed that much.. feel free to take a look.

  • Who is the other guy singing with the Wolf on this one?

  • @agubser07 Willie Dixon another legendary bluesman and songwriter.

  • Comment removed

  • @GrisGrisOnUrDoorStep All the speaking bits are Willie Dixon. Like from 0:00 to 0:30.

  • @LedHeadTillDeath I always thought it was Wolf, how can you tell?

  • @GrisGrisOnUrDoorStep The wonders of Wikipedia ;-)

  • @GrisGrisOnUrDoorStep Willie Dixon does the spoken verses, Howlin' Wolf does the singing parts.
