Hang in there! *hugs* Sorry so late, but was in the middle of a move and internet was delayed three weeks. So catching up. Prayers for smooth pregnancy and healthy baby!
I never knew your birthday was the 23 of March yay mines the 24th i'm turning 20 can't wait to say goodbye to teenage hood. In NZ we are a day ahead so we will celebrating at the same time so cool.
i was wondering if you could give me an estimate as to how many cloth diapers i should purchase for baby...this is going to be our first time buying them and idk how many i will be needing... what if we wanna wash them every other day or every 2 days? i was going to order some 20 or 25 but i really dont know how many...we will be using left over diapers from last time until the umbilical cord falls off since they are newborn size but right when that happens we plan on switching to cloth diapers
@Darkcharmer1991 Depends on if ur doing one size or perfect fit &&& how often u plan on washing your diapers. With that said 18 is the starting point for most Moms. I'd suggest 18 to start with & plan on buying more if you aren't sure on those questions just yet or plans may change.
I completely understand the need to talk and have a relationship with your parents....mine are in NC right now and I am in NY and I try and talk to them as often as possible. Your right the relationship does change as you get older.
Hey I turn 27 this year as well. I can empathize on the birthday and age thing. But if it makes you feel better, you have accomplished a whole lot more in your 27 years than I have in mine! You have 2 wonderful children with one more on the way. That certainly is a truly amazing thing to be proud of. :) (I don't have any children...am hoping to TTC in the next 2--3 years)
Awe! i totally cried whenever you talked about not taking advantage of your family and telling your loved ones you love them! a friend of mine just got diagnosed with leukemia yesterday and shes only 18 and it made me think of her and her babies!
@ForeverChrissyH Really? I know personally (at least at first) I'd have a hard time NOT being angry & wondering the whole "Why me?!?! What did I do to deserve this?" type of thinking... that's so brave & strong of her, which I'm sure will only help her through chemo. That type of attitude can conquer anything ;)
@xxxjoelpolexxx definitley can conquer anything! shes only upset about losing her hair but shes already found a wig to wear cause they told her after about a week of chemo shed start to lose it :/ but i told her i will donate my hair to her after it grows :)
my aunt actually had leukemia as a child at an age even younger than my friend, and survived it! she had it when she was like 8 years old lost her hair and went to a camp for kids with cancer. and now shes 34! :)
it is so crazy that you are talking about not taking life for granted in this video and just last night i had a dream that my mom died. i called her all day at work just to make sure she was ok and to tell her i love her.
I totally agree that we should value our relationship with our loved ones.
Hope you have a smooth and healthy pregnancy Lucy! I enjoy watching your blogs :). Have fun shopping at ON tomorrow, lol. That's where I'll be going as well, ha ha ha. Oh and HAVE FUN on your "FIRST" date with your hubby ;).
I just wanted to share with you that I have a friend who delivered at 22wks. Her son is almost 3 now and he is amazing. The Drs. told them that he wasn't even going to live let alone be able to do what he does now! They have great faith in God and just stood on his word that their baby would live! I know that is not in your plan and I am going to be praying that you make it to 36 wks!
@xxxjoelpolexxx I just thought I would share with you that even though you may plan one thing God sometimes has other plans. He will get you through whatever happens and is there for you! I have seen his great works and believe that with all my heart he hears our prayers. So keep praying he will not fail you!
Wow, how Ironic that this video be posted when it was. With the earthquakes and tsunami's going on. I hope things get better for you. I'm excited for yours and joels date night! I hope that goes well for you as well! Have fun doing whatever you do with your husband! :)
My Dad passed away in August. It is so hard, after everyone goes to bed at night and its quiet. I usually fall asleep crying my eyes out I MISS HIM SO MUCH !!! ~ Learn from yesterday, hope for tomorrow, and live for today. For today is a gift, that is why it is called the present. ~
Hearing you say this makes me cry too. My fiance is in Afghanistan, and I hate to think that every time we talk, could be the last. I try not to think like that, so that I'm not a nervous wreck all the time, but it still is hard. I don't know what I would do if something happened to him. We are being shown more than ever to appreciate the times you have together, when you have them. There have been close calls and I just count my blessings that, thus far, everything is ok.
I have a very good friend, who in October, delivered her daughter at 20 weeks. Miss Reece got to come home almost a month ago. She is in perfect health, other than needed supplemental O2!! she was 1lb 2oz and 12 inches long, she's pushing 10lbs now, she's amazing!!
I showed you talking about the wreck and the fire to my 15 year old cousin. She just had one of her best friends die in a car wreck about 3 weeks ago. She saw it happen right in front of her and watched them place him in the body bag. The video reminded her she's not the only one going through something like this, so you may not have realized it but this helped someone!
:( I wanna give you a big hug ((HUG)). I get teary talking about my Dad at the moment too, my Dad is very sick and I cant stand the thought of him not being around. Your looking amazing btw!
I swear I think this is one of the best vlog you've had in a long time. Valuing life, loved ones, friends & just the blessing of being able to surround yourself with ppl that care is so important. Part of this is "growing" as an individual.
I just went through a very similar scare. I loss portions of MP at 23-24 wks, but started having "period like cramping" this pass week. Made an unschedule stop with OB & sure enough cervix was "softening" (no dialation though). Had to start Nifedipine to stop the contracting (no bleeding though). I did have the fFN test (swab) and least Piper will not be here in the next 2 weeks:) I have my follow-up OB visit on Monday to just check on this. I'll send some prayers up for your little one!
@Shannindhall Scary! Anytime one contracts w/ MP/Blood/etc then it means it was enough for cervix change in some way & "cervix change" is what scares me! it's too early for either of us to be having that.
ok... i totally love this video!! I totally relate to how you are feeling about the accident you saw. I saw something similar about 6 months ago and let me tell you... it does NOT ever go away. I still see the poor woman's body parts all over the road. =( poor woman.... ok... on a happier note, i knew I adored you for a reason!! lol. Your birthday is one day before mine!! lol. Although, on March 24th, I will be 30 =/ yea, no bueno... lol. either way, happy early birthday!!
I do not see the kellymom link but I think that it is totally fine to nurse two babies and your body adjusts to it... you never know anyway, he may self-wean before that. So, people just do not hear from this often but it happens.
I will be old...........LOL 49 this year UGH ......I have 3 sons 29, 27, 19 and 5 grandkids boy 8, girl, 5, boy 3, boy 2, girl 1 on march 29... you seem to glow when you are pregnant hope all is well with you all
Im 32 weeks pregnant and im super emotional as well and wow seeing you tear up made me tear up :( Hope everything is going well with your pregnancy! I know what you are going through with the cramping and scares. I have had to sit a lot as well so I dont cramp up! No fun at all but its all worth it in the end :)
sorry about your contractions hun. I hope you make it to at least 36 weeks too. but I hear that if your breastfeed while your pregnant that can cause contractions. Does your midwife know your breastfeeding?
This has been an emotional week for me as well. My friend's baby passed away in his sleep at 4 months old to what they think was SIDS on Friday night. Being pregnant and having two kids it just hit me hard and it's been quite a shock. :(
Yay for a date night!!!! I can't believe it's been over 3 years since you last date!!!! Man oh man do you and Joel deserve one!!! I hope you have a wonderful time!
I get that feeling of appreciation of life too when I see what's happening out there. It sucks (sorry, no better word for it) that sometimes it takes awful things to happen to get us appreciate what we have. Recently we had here a horrific fire in a children orphanage for young disabled children, about half of them in wheelchairs. 12 died, 7-21 of age, they were bedridden. It can't get worse than this! Sorry to share such a horrible story but it should remind to appreciate life even more!
@leenek Ugh that gave me goosebumps. I just want to scream at times, Life just isn't FAIR! Especially in situations like that. They didn't even have a chance.
i dont think you shud worry about the contractions if they are infrequent. i had a scare around 25 weeks and it was every 5 mins. wasnt painful but so regular and tiring. if your cervix is thick and closed then just drink alot of water and pee frequently. everything will be okay. anyways hair cut looks good. in preg hair grows super thick and fast and sometimes it just needs a trimming. im 33 wks now and am wishing for a hair cut soon. do you get hair colored or anything during preg?
@paprichaat5 I do infrequent or not b/c I don't have to have frequent ones to cause change in my cervix. I was 6 cm w/ my son & 5 cm w/ my daughter before going into labor w/ either of them from infrequent contractions.
Yay for finally being able to have a date with your husband!! I am also super close to my mom and try to make a point of talking to her at least 4 times a week. I'm sorry about your rough/ emotional week.
Lucy, you a special mom and daughter. It really touch me when you said, "tomorrow is not promised to us". I am a grandma, of a 2yr old. Last Thurs, I was driving N on I35 to Waco. I was in the left lane.Traffic had me blocked next to an 18 wheeler in his blind spot. He moved into my lane and I ran off into the narrow grassy medium at 73 mph. By the grace of God, I made it. I sat there in shock! I got to Waco, called my son.I just to hear his voice made me cry! I thank God, I can still see my fam.
@lra254 I hate 35...I drive it the most everyday & just yesterday I almost wrecked from a car whos tire blue on 35 under the I-20 bridge.. I got up on two wheels at one point from running over it. We think it may haev cracked our oil pan :( Hoping that's not expensive to fix. Thank God you are okay!
@lra254 Thank God you are ok, too! So scarey, made me think good and hard about never taking life for granted. I wish my son would call me, be he is so busy. I call him..but he's always too tired or busy at work keeping things moving as a manager! God Bless you little mamma! <3
DATE??!!! YAY!! Very scary about contractions at 21 weeks!! Yikes! Hope it was just a one time thing and you won't have contractions until this little one is full term! That's great about you and your parents relationship. It's nice. I agree. I am very close to my parents and always have been. I hope you have a wonderful date! YAY! Tell us all about it! Miss chatting with you. I feel like you don't want to talk to me anymore. :( I know you are super busy though so I do understand.
@dreamflight6000 Thank you hun!!! Whaaat? No way! Don't ever feel like that, I totally love you. I feel like I haven't talked to anyone the past 2-3 weeks :( things are starting to calm back down now that we've gotten so much done but we still have a ways to go on our to-do list b4 this baby gets here.
I think about that kinda thing all the time when I see accidents especially. Everyone should take a step back from their busy lives and thank God for their families and friends. :) Sorry you've had a bad week, I hope things get better!
@bbuie2 That is so very true! Sometimes living in a big city like we do w/ schedules as chaotic as ours can be at times, it can be easily forgotten, that we are in fact NOT untouchable. Any moment could be ours....
Ashlyn just looked at the screen while I was watching this video and said Hi Lucy! I thought it was so cute! I always tell her who I'm watching if she is in the room and she recognized you. lol
It's hard seeing things such as a wreck and people dying, however I think God puts that stuff in our lives to say 'hey life is too short, this COULD be your last day, live it for God...cherish every moment, etc' That's how I think when I see those things...always an eye opener. Just got to trust in God and He knows the timing for everything! In the end all that matters is HIM! God bless you hun!You look great.
You are so beautiful, Lucy. Your video made me emotional too. I couldn't have said it better myself, you're totally right, we are never promised tomorrow!!!!!! That's one thing I've learned being a military wife, to never take our time for granted. Thanks so much for the reminder.
One thing about horrible weeks, they can only get BETTER!!!!! Praying for a cease in your preterm labor and that you will be able to enjoy the pregnancy. You have wonderful supporters that are here for you. HUGS!
I was having a lot of cramping and leg cramps as well as a tonn of braxton hicks starting around 20 weeks so my midwife put me on calcium and magnesium and it has worked wonders for me. I hope you can find something that works for you!
You look so cute today :) I'm sorry you had to see those terrible things :( I already worry so much about getting older (I will also be turning 27 this year) and life being so short ..something like seeing that would be a bad thing for me! My parents and I have never been an I love you/miss you/hugs kind of family which is sad! and since my dad moved 18 hours away ..we hardly ever talk which is also sad
Sorry you had to go through all that bad stuff Lucy ! I pray everything gets better for you soon! O and I wanted to tell you ur bday is the same as my little girls, she will turn 1 this year on ur bday! I just though that was really cool...lol stay strong and stay up and smiley like we all get to see you every week! ....Courtney
I love that you let Joel push you and the kids in Walmart! When I was on "bed rest" I HAD to go to Walmart, so I rode around in one of those things you can drive around! it was great! I hope you are feeling better and have NO MORE contractions!
@Racllie Well Joel got impatient w/ how slow I was walking....lol He was like "Lucy seriously if you get in this buggy I WILL push you....just get in!" ha he's worse than a kid sometimes.
Oh wow that would scare the life out of me. I just pray and hope baby does well and will stay in for forever. Well maybe not forever but long enough for it to have a good fighting chance at survival.
I know I would be worried if I lost my mucus plug THIS early!! Especially if it was accompanied by "CRAMPS"! I would say go on BED REST until your midwife can check you! If it wasn't for the fact that you have already carried two babies to term....I would be thinking "incompetent" cervix!! It is also scary that you are carrying that LOW!! I sure hope everything is ok with you and the baby!!
@amishhorse Thanks hun! I had to wear a support belt w/ Jacelyn b/c she was pushing my bladder into my pelvis from being so low. I feel like this baby is moving up a LITTLE bit, lol but at least a little is better than nothing at all. Luckily I didn't loose all just part of the plug.
What a week for you. You are allowed to be emotional!! Lol I think it's good to show your emotions. The eye twitching thing according to my optician can indicate tiredness which I'm sure you are suffering from- silly statement I'm about to make but rest when you can, not easy I know!!
If you don't mind can you pm me an address for you, I'd like to send a card?
Enjoy your date and visits with your mum and dad- you are sooo right, I miss my father in law soo much, he passed 1yr ago at Christmas a
@mrsnetrix I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL, that's amazing that you had a good relationship with him. Not many in-laws are like that now days. Sounds like you were blessed!
I know exactly what you mean... well, I never spoken to my dad that often, because my mom & dad are divorced... but I texted my dad once... "even though I'm grown up, can I still get a hug from my dad and hear him telling me everything is gonna be ok?" He texted back: "Yes, you can. I'm free tomorrow, I'm coming over". So for the time your dad is gone for work... Lucy, a big hug!! Everything is going to be ok... don't over work yourself and go lie down when you need to. You look gorgeous. xxx
I so understand what mean about what you where saying about life & death I lost my dad almost a year ago I was 39 and it changed how I felt about a lot things. Death is hard to deal with, what helped me feel better was getting our will made. No money put it on video or cd and put it up. Say who takes the kids, and so on. Then look at life Inc. Most peole dont want to think about death, after you get your will, & life Inc it will make you a lot better,
@abrowning0421 They are attached b/c of our healthy relationship. I've never NEEDED to leave my children so why would I? I love my kids. I'm a SAHM & have no need to pawn them off on other people. I have no want or desire to go to a bar, clubbing, anything for that matter. I truly enjoy time w/ my family as a family. I'd couldn't think of a better way to spend my life than with them in my life.
you are so sweet, sorry your week was so rough and prayers for you and the baby to stay healthy and safe in the coming weeks! i hope you get to relax and really enjoy this weekend too!
I hope you get to feeling better, and tell him/her to stay in there as long as they can.
And everyday i get in a car i pray for God to keep me safe. I was driving and thinking the other day "what if i wrecked, would my unborn son be okay...? Would they try to get him out if i was about to die.. " And it freaked me out and i wanted to cry. So i just try and think positive from now on and leave things in Gods hands.
what's this "plug" you're talking about?

Your right, life is so precious and we need to treasure everyday.
You said in your video that you don't like to ever think about not seeing Joel or your kids again if something was to happen. What about heaven??
If you have a relationship with Jesus( I'm not talking about religion) then we have all of eternity to spend with our loved ones.

Does your midwife know your breastfeeding?
melissaphelps25 11 months ago
@melissaphelps25 Yes she knows & it doesnt follow him nursing. There is no pattern or connection as of now between nursing & preterm.

This has been an emotional week for me as well. My friend's baby passed away in his sleep at 4 months old to what they think was SIDS on Friday night. Being pregnant and having two kids it just hit me hard and it's been quite a shock. :(
I hope you two enjoy your date! Have fun!

Sorry to share such a horrible story but it should remind to appreciate life even more!
leenek 11 months ago
@leenek Ugh that gave me goosebumps. I just want to scream at times, Life just isn't FAIR! Especially in situations like that. They didn't even have a chance.
xxxjoelpolexxx 11 months ago
i dont think you shud worry about the contractions if they are infrequent. i had a scare around 25 weeks and it was every 5 mins. wasnt painful but so regular and tiring. if your cervix is thick and closed then just drink alot of water and pee frequently. everything will be okay. anyways hair cut looks good. in preg hair grows super thick and fast and sometimes it just needs a trimming. im 33 wks now and am wishing for a hair cut soon. do you get hair colored or anything during preg?
paprichaat5 11 months ago
@paprichaat5 I do infrequent or not b/c I don't have to have frequent ones to cause change in my cervix. I was 6 cm w/ my son & 5 cm w/ my daughter before going into labor w/ either of them from infrequent contractions.
xxxjoelpolexxx 11 months ago
I'm always thinking that way Lucy. Beautiful words of wisdom and I agree. i hope your supplements help your symptoms and look forward to week 22 :)

I thank God, I can still see my fam.
lra254 11 months ago
@lra254 I hate 35...I drive it the most everyday & just yesterday I almost wrecked from a car whos tire blue on 35 under the I-20 bridge.. I got up on two wheels at one point from running over it. We think it may haev cracked our oil pan :( Hoping that's not expensive to fix. Thank God you are okay!
xxxjoelpolexxx 11 months ago

I feel like I haven't talked to anyone the past 2-3 weeks :( things are starting to calm back down now that we've gotten so much done but we still have a ways to go on our to-do list b4 this baby gets here.
xxxjoelpolexxx 11 months ago
I think about that kinda thing all the time when I see accidents especially. Everyone should take a step back from their busy lives and thank God for their families and friends. :) Sorry you've had a bad week, I hope things get better!

HUGS!

I sure hope everything is ok with you and the baby!!
amishhorse 11 months ago
@amishhorse Thanks hun! I had to wear a support belt w/ Jacelyn b/c she was pushing my bladder into my pelvis from being so low. I feel like this baby is moving up a LITTLE bit, lol but at least a little is better than nothing at all. Luckily I didn't loose all just part of the plug.

xxxjoelpolexxx 11 months ago
