  • how to nail what was a mediocre song, give it to a Welshman by the name of Dave edmunds and a serious blues riff and you got this :-) wow absolutely brilliant :-)

  • dave's lookin' a bit like William Macy

  • just one word -------fantastic---------

  • Great stuff .. and lovely to see Keith Chegwin guesting on 2nd guitar.

  • He still sings great.

  • wer kennt die adresse von dave edmunds würde Ihn gerne zu Konzerten nach Deutschland holen,Meine E.Mail h.kilgus@t-online.de

  • great version of chuck berry"s terrific original

  • only 1 person does chuck berry better than dave edmunds, and its not chuck berry its brian setzer, and put em together its awesome!!!

  • @fartinringo no its billy peek best chuck style player not brian setzer!!

  • This man has considerable digital dexterity. When he lived in Monmouth in the 70s my friend BR said he accompanied Dave up the motorway in Dave's Jaguar XJ6. Dave was "skinning up a joint" while driving !!

  • Sounds like chuck .

    WOW

  • Thats how to ROCK!

  • Deana3451. He is a honey,don,t you agree.

  • i like dave edmunds but i think george thorogoods version is better

  • a good honest musican, but very underrated.

  • THANKS to ALL of you for giving me YOUR musical TALENT. ALL of you to make magic music for us to listen to LISTEN to.

  • need anymore proof that telecasters roooock?

  • What a guitar player - simply great !!

  • Man, this CAT can ROCK! The real McCoy.

  • Rock and Roll will never die!!

  • @fccurrywurst I'm too old to see the end, but I'll bet a nickel you're wrong. Go turn on the radio. Still it's a nice sentiment.

  • his

  • Ah this is life-affirming stuff! And yes, great to see Billy Bremner in there - any chance of a tour, we wonder. Brilliant. Thanks for posting.

  • It's great to see Billy Bremner in the video... it's half of Rockpile.

  • The rocking half of Rockpile! To be fair though, Terry Williams could bang those drums! That just leaves Nick Lowe - a genius in his own right but never an out and out rocker.

  • sometimes things improve with age

  • Dai showing his class - there's lovely.

  • I have to admit, this is the first time I have seen Dave Edminds on video since the days of Dick Clark and American Band Stand. I guess that dates Dave and I..LOL! But you know he still sounds just as good as he did then. I guess it true... Rock -N- Roll will never die!

Rock on Dave! Bang that Teli!

  • Fantastic!

  • Swedish, Boogie Woogie piano great Johan Blohm ads the perfect touch to this show. Oustanding! I actually met Dave Edmunds backstage about 1987 in Hollywood when I was a DJ in LA . I have loved him since I first heard him in the late 60s. He is exactly the style artist and talent I would liked to have become had I been a muscian. He is probably my favorite artist, which after 40 years in Rock radio is saying a lot. Thanks Dave and all for your great feeling and well done music. Gere

  • This is Rock N' Roll music at its best. These guys could blow just about anybody off stage!!! Aberdeen's Billy Bremner helping out on guitar, too!!! FABULOUS STUFF !!!!

  • Finally!

A video that shows the actual playing of the instrument in question.

Checked another video of Dave and it shows the horns, drums, keys when he's soloing.....everything but Dave!

Seen him twice, years ago, looks like he can still rock out with the best of them.

    This guy's my all-time hero.

  • That brings a smile to this old man's face!!!

  • Just GREAT AND GREAT !!!

  • Have never seen a bad show with Dave Edmunds, he just rockin' and rollin' on :)

  • I know what ya mean. I would love to see him do this song with George Thorogood who, by all means, has a SMOKIN' version of it as well.

  • He's rocking hard and i hope he keeps on rocking. A true rock'n'roller.

  • Dave is old now, but he still rocking hard!

  • Gorgeous looking bloke.

  • I am desperately seeking the Refreshments DVD this clip is from; I found a Swedish website that has it for sale but they only ship within Sweden and I live in the US. If anyone out there has one for sale I will pay $50+ for it.

  • Is it just me or do Dave's eyeballs really leave their sockets at 2:48mins?

  • Oh my, you're killing me.

  • nope its the effect of shades and lighting

  • Like many of you I like both Edmunds and Thorogood very much. They are both on my number one favorite list, like Berry, Lewis, Richard and Domino. This song is lyric genial :)

  • HEY !!! we cant all agree, sori if i offended anyone, opinions make the world a richer place, thanks for yours, have a rockin day out there, good cheer to ya's

  • Actually I have to agree, George & The Delaware Destroyers have been on my hit parade since the late 70's. The weird thing is he plays in a G Tuning all the time. Great live show too.

  • Shame he had to have the mullet put down!

  • tommyau2006 - NO !!!!!!!!! PLEASE DONT ARGUE, YOU ARE WRONG, and PLEASE dont mention george t on a dave edmunds site, have you no honour good sir !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey, I dig both Edmunds and Thorogood. One of the reasons I got into them both was their covers of Berry songs. Edmunds approaches them more a little straight on, like the original, just with an Edmunds touch. Thorogood, puts his own spin on them, but still maintains the original spirit. Thorogood takes em and rocks them out a bit more...especially this song. Another Berry song that Thorogood absolutely tears up is Hello Little Girl. Look on here for it..its great..

  • sorry dude or dudette

  • Dave Edmunds was one of the few guys beside Keith Richards who ever did a Chuck Berry tune justice

  • big yea yea yea bassmangotdbluz, your bucaneers are well tuned my friend !!!!

  • George Thorogood can cover Chuck Berry songs pretty well

  • @bassmangotdbluz how right you are, the man is a legend.

  • @bassmangotdbluz Absolutely The Truth! Absolutely True Rock'n'Roller : Chuck – Keith – Dave !!! They Are The Incarnation Of Rock!

  • Absolutely The Truth! Absolutely True Rock'n'Roller : Chuck Keith Dave !!! They Are The Incarnation Of Rock!

  • @bassmangotdbluz True....love all of Daves versions.....and he puts his own subtle spin on them..... Also George Thorogood stays true to the spirit. And I like how Thorogood picks some of the lesser known songs to cover like this one, Hello Little Girl, Move It, Little Marie, etc...

  • @bassmangotdbluz

Right you are! I couldn't agree more this little Welshman is one of the best.

  • @bassmangotdbluz dave is so far of poser keith. richards is sloppy and not even close to chuck, dave , or billy bremmer.

  • my fave rock'n'roller, decades of rockin good music , thankie very much , sir dave edmunds, now thats cool ! fozzy

    Billy-Dave-Nick and Terry ! ´Rock it in a grandious dirty way ! I love it !

  • cool great video

  • Thanks Johan for the always great info!!

  • Muy bueno!!!!!

  • This song is originally on the Chuck Berry album "Fresh Berry's" (Chess 1498) November 1965. On the same album is "It's My Own Business" (Dave Edmunds - Tracks on Wax). "It Wasn't Me" is not on any official Dave Edmunds album, but this video together with The Refreshments and Billy Bremner is superb. I have seen him live in recent years and he still got it. Go, Dave, Go!

  • allaboard, this is great!

    Thanks!

    Memphis Piano Joe

  • Good Video Johan, thanks. I have never seen this guy before, but I will look for him in the future!

  • Chuck Berry,mid 60-s Chess record

    Phil

  • Dave Edmuns with Billy Bremner and The Refreshments, it don't get much better!!!

  • recorded in sweden, dont remember the city

  • Dave's a real great rocker/singer/guitar player.

  • brilliant,thanx for posting.pete

  • Amazing! Thank you Kingsley Amis for having a studio near Daves house, so that he may become one of the best producers of our time and a great performer too. now it's time for the Welsh revolution - Geraint & Dave with Mike Barratt playing some rockabilly - oh yesssss please

    Mikey the English 'Welsh'man

  • A Danelectro!

  • Fairly recent Dave! And there's Billy Bremner too. For me and quite a few of my close friends in the late 70s, Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe were the best, the coolest thing in all rock and roll for a few years there. I see Dave can still cut the mustard!

I'm grinnin'. Dave did record this song but I can't remember which album (too lazy to reference my awkwardly stored vinyl collection).

  • Great stuff. When was this filmed??

  • Great Chuck Berry cover!

  • What a joy Dave's music has been.

  • oohhh!!! he's still got IT!!!!! we've always loved him here in memphis, tennessee, USA!!! oh yeeahh!!
