  • Would silicone cleaner be suitable for cleaning standard firearms?

I'm planning on getting a deactivated AK that's being sold cheap because it's quite dirty with some staining on the metal work and the stock and hand guards and was wondering what would be good for cleaning it.

    Thanks in advance.

  • for the inner barre would silicone spreay work?

  • I just got a beat up old daisy from an old house in peices. I fixed it up and was thinking "Is this thing even going to work????" So I shot it and dust came flying out the barrel. And it works as good as new! Exept for a missing bolt and lots of scrapes and chips with the stock.

  • thanks man really helped me

  • HELP!!! i just bought a scope like this one and i dont know what the thing on the back adjusts.. if someone knows plz tell me. on my scope it has numbers from 0 to 11

  • @bozenkopetros, the bit with numbers is an adjuster for the brightness of the illuminated reticule, if you remove the top you can put a battery in there and them the cross hairs will glow red

  • @WeaponCollector hi, my rifle has little dots of rust on the barrel and i was wondering what would be best to remove the rust? isit the same oil your using? much appreciate it, i thought it would be a shame to have a £1400 rifle and to not look after it. just been to busy! :/

  • I do like your stock, do you know what wood it is??

  • @chefslot , Thanks, its a beech stock.

    Mike.

  • Is it possible to kill a human at close range or long range in a survival situation.

  • @SurvivalVids what? with an air rifle? depends on the circumstances i guess. You'd be very unlucky if you died being shot with an air rifle. most would not even have the velocity to penetrate a human skull.

    what a funny question...

  • hey would wd40 maintenance spary or multi purpose oil work

  • @Xxxbuzzardboy98 , wd40 would be fine for cleaning the outside wood and metal.

  • hey mike nice simple cleanin, i do the same with my airarms s400 karbine, but i use simple 3 in 1, hope im not harming by usin that type of oil, but it seems ok.

  • do you clead the out side of the barul with the gun oil and nice vid btw

  • y is the barul so choret on it ??

  • @ThatAngryHillbilly

there's not a chance in hell and airgun would kill a fox, to even suggest it is stupid. maybe a couple hours after hitting it, it may die, in pain, somewhere you wont find it.

Its people like you who will get airgunning banned in this country

  • Is that the BSA Lightning Sniper Rifle? because i got the exact same one and its amazing!!!

  • Hello, I want to get a pellet rifle and i'm thinking of getting a Crosman Quest 1000c. Do you know how to use silicone chamber oil? I'm not really sure if its mandatory to do that. Thank you.

  • will motor oil work? also how do you oil the spring?

  • @100percentguitarded if you're gonna do that use non-detergent motor oil. don't know if it's ok to use even the non-detergent. I've done it.

  • cheers this helped. could u use wd-40?

  • can u put 3 in 1 oil on your gun

  • Very informative video! Good work! Thanks!

  • Can I use crosman rmcoil to remove rust?

  • nice video mike , but can u do one about how to open + clean it inside please?

  • in the uk is the only type of gun your allow is a air gun or are normal guns allowed?

  • You are allowed to go and buy any air rifle upto to 12flb, however anything more powerful than this means u have to obtain a firearms certificate.....But yes you are allowed normal rifles, however you need to apply for a firarms certificate and have a genuine reason for having one.

Shotugns are a little different though, its written in law that every citizen has the right to own a shotgun, you just have to prove u can look after it properly without being a threat to anyone.

  • Thanks mate, well you learn something new everyday, never realised they could kill a fox.

    Mike

  • i do that with my supersport and its probably the same age as urs and it looks as new as any brand new gun cool vid btw:)

  • Works like a treat doesn't it mate, keeps them in great conditiion

  • Nice pellet gun Mike.

Is it a Benjamin of some sort, it looks like it

What kind of fps doe it produce?

    I bought a 2nd hand Crosman 1400 22 cal. pneumatic rifle.

You can pump it 8 times for aprox 700 fps, but for plinking 2 or 3 pumps is good.

I shot it right through a 1" thick board, and it would easily kill a Coon or Fox with a head-shot.

  • Hi Conan, its a BSA Lightning. .22, is 12ft/lb which is Legal limit for u.k, not sure of fps though.

    (says on internet - 560fps)

It will kill rabbits and that , but probably not a fox.

    Mike

  • 560 fps, that would be considered a firearm in Canuckistan and would have to be registered.

The good news is, they've just voted to do away with the registry.

  • I have owned the BSA 1.77 Lightning for a year now and I have kill 2 foxes from about 30 yrds to 35 yrds and both jumped about 2 feat 3 feat from the ground. One of the best air rifle I have bought.

  • @WeaponCollector 12ft/lb is 560 so the internet is wrong. I have a 10.6ft/lb SMK19 in .177 cal and is says in the manual that is is about 740-800 FPS.

  • @TheAirscots hi mate the reason ur gun fires up to 800 fps is because its a .177 cal, travels a lot faster than .22 , faster and further at a flatter trajectory, however .22 has a bit more of a thud due to its larger size.

  • @Conan568 do you mean a crosman 140 from the 60's beacuse a bought a second hand one and the gunsmith said if you pump it over 8 it will go over the legal limit and will kill rabits at 5, when i go shooting with it, I a give it 10 to make sure it will kill the game or vermin also it is more accurate.

  • @carnigourousplotting

Mine IS a Crosman 1400, it says so right on it.

I've read many times online that the maximum is 8 pumps with the 1400, and going over that many, will eventually ruin the seals..

They are very powerful, and could kill a Human for sure.

  • @Conan568 yes mine is a crosman 140 the gunsmith said that the max on mine would probably be around 12 i've taken it to 16 pumps before but i usually do 10, my gun is around 40 odd years old and still going strong it can get over the UK legal limit for air rifles before you need a licence I would'nt bother about ruining the seals as they are very cheap to buy and i could replace them myself, usually i just plink at 3 pumps but when i go hunting i take it 10 or over. it is a brilliant gun.

  • if i want to buy a sniper bb would it have like a scope with zoon?

  • how often u clean it?

  • I personally clean mine everytime i use it.

  • thanks about the video ! you give to me an idea !

  • cool, glad to help mate.

  • Nice gun dude now you a weapon collector

  • Since you no longer use intro music, I'll dub for you:

SOMEONE! If you squeeze my lizard, I'll put my snake on you. I'm a romantic adventure and I'm a reptile too! But it don't make no difference cause I aint gonna be easy, easy. The only time I'm easy's when I'm ... KILLED BY DEATH, KILLED BY DEATH, KILLED BY DEATH, SOMEONE! ..... Now... don't that sound better?

  • YEah man this is one of my favourite Motorhead songs.

  • LOL, Cheers Ed.

  • How powerful is this?

  • 12ft/lbs - U.K legal limit - as powerful as we can legally get.

    Mike

  • Real nice air rifle mike!

  • Thanks duk3h

  • Good review mate. i like theses sort of videos. Ill make a vid tomorrow if you want and show you how i clean mine.

Also that looks like a old BSA lightning? or a theoben?

    Nick

  • you should do more of your beretta man, infact pleees do some more on your umarex beretta i need something to feed my imagination untill i get mine lol.

  • Lol i would mate but i sold it. :(:( Needed the money for my S400K thumbhole stock.. Plus i hardly ever used it.. so im not missing much. I use to be a pistol person. but now im more Air rifles mate. Thanks for the suggestion anyways.

    Nick

  • @WeaponsKill. Hmmmm dude im so un-made up on what i want, im thinking the Gammo shadow or Gammo cfx, both look like really nice rifles at about the same price as the beretta so im stuck in a rut because that beretta looks awsome but i dunno, would it penatrate a full coke can or beer can at about 10 meters?

  • Hi mate. It would be better if you messaged me because, its a little cheaky is having a convo on mikes video rofl. but yeah. If i was going to buy a spring rifle, i would go either for the Weihrauch HW90 or the HW95. But then again i aint a springer person. Im a PCP. And if your on about the beretta penatrating a beer can at around 10meters. i should think so. i never tried it but, what i will say is it never went thought a plastic bottle full of water.. neally killed myself trying :D

  • Hey Nick, I'll make some more like this, i need to add more of these types.

yeah its a old BSA Lightning.

definitely do the video mate, make it a response to this one if you want.

    Mike

  • Sweet mate. I thought it looked like a BSA Lightning lol :D. Yeah, ill make it tomorrow and put it as a response to this. The bluing on the BSA's are soo much better than air arms.. I perfure to shoot a Airarms but not the bluing :D
