  • Well programed video ... keep the photographer. The places and State Parks you mentioned are some of my favorites also! Trails End Campsite at the end of the Gunflint Trail is a favorite ... to sit on the High Bluff of you site and listen to the loons and canoes coming and going is something special.

  • really well made video. preserve the wilderness!

  • Getting caught with a joint or personal is a ticket in MN

  • Is that a joke the punishment for up to 42.5 grams is a misdemeanor carrying a fine up to $200.00 and no incarceration. I been busted plenty and they always drop the charges just for showing up.

  • I found rvparkandcampingexpert (.) com to be a good source of information on this subject fyi.

  • My sister is become Asian women lushfmlk.info

  • my favorite camp ground is your wife's anus....

  • well done video, kudos to the editor

  • HOORAY FOR MINNESOTA the only place in USA where first time marijuana offender caught with one marijuana cigarette runs a great risk still, in the 21st century of getting 9 months in jail and a 10,000 fine

  • people from minnesota are pretty racist. im asian and i went there once, got alot of racist comments from the people there

  • @lucirz

according tio the national realty association minnesota is right behind missisippi as the least desirable place to relocate too.

  • minnesota sucks, boorring

  • I was just at Split Rock Lighthouse. If anyone reading this is about to go there, than I would recommend going to Wolf Ridge. It's a great rope course that my mom's cousin used to own.

  • My family is somewhat thinking of moving to Minnesota, I used to live there when I was about 4. No memory of it, this video probably doesn't even give me a piece of the true beauty which is Minnesota. We plan to find land 30-50 miles from the nearest city/town. Heh, I imagine if we do move there i could be 'living' survivor man in my backyard.

  • @Cypher1A

A great town (around the area your family is looking at) is called Wayzata. The homes are a bit expensive, but many people who live there say it's worth it. Wayzata has a beautiful lake (called Wayzata Lake), the J.J. Hill Jr. Parade, great schools, great restaurants, great shops, nice people, and a trolley in the summer. A place I personally love there is a bakery called Woulette's. It's just a nice place to, at least, visit.

  • great video I agree with you 1000 percent on the parks!!! you have a cool job too those are good fishing lakes too

  • absolutly stunning, iam from scotland but wold love to go there

  • Spectacular photography - nice work!

  • I love Minnesota !!

  • My 1st fishing trip to MN was when my dad took us to Two Harbors, along North Shore and we dipped for smelt with the Izaak Walton League. We did this in the early 70's and from what I understand I was really blessed to see the massive numbers of smelt like I did, because it has declined ever since and now, the numbers are really low. So I no longer smelt and instead, we LOVE heading to Lake Kawishiwi, just west of the Sawbill Trail. (n. out of Tofte) AWESOME AND PRIVATE AND BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!

  • probably because the water has been down for over 10 years. The waters this year have risen a lot and are back to normal, so the smelt should be plentiful.

  • This video has just convinced me to come visit Minnesota .... !! I"m from the Pacific Northwest where there are lots of woods and beautiful camping places... BUT dam Minnesota has some nice looking places as well... nice video

  • he has swedish relatives

  • Very nice production and photography. Indeed the BWCAW area is the best on earth. I count myself lucky to spend much of the year on Gunflint Lake. Thanks for this video!

  • Everyone says Minnesota is as close as it gets to Scandinavia.

    I don't wish to disagree.

100-150 years ago, many poor Scandinavians emmigrated to this magnificent part of the US.

Today, Scandinavia is richer than any other part of the Earth and the average car in "poor" Sweden is the $35 000 Volvo V70.

  • I love Mn winters, born and raised in Mn and i would never live anywhere else.

    Great video! GO VIKINGS!!!!

  • it's nice.

  • Yea great, minnesota the most beatiuful place in the world even if i haven t even been there. Just seen pictures and movies but i would love in, i just know it

  • @poulsen96

Just to let you know, most, if not all movies set in Minnesota are actually filmed in Canada, for MN's taxes aren't favored by the producers or something. :/

  • MINNESOTA IS AWESOME!!

  • You people are funny, Minnesota has more to it than fat women and snow. Hah, I laugh at the people up there who envy me for living in Florida. I honestly HATE it here and I'm ECSTATIC about going back to Minnesota. It's humid, hot, and sticky here. It fucking sucks and it's full of rich, snobby bitches. The people in Minnesota are nice and genuine and don't care what brand your clothing is. Yeah, sure, there's Disney World, but that's about it. Too bad no one can afford to go there EVERY DAY.

  • the whole state is the world to me.. ive barely ever been far from it

  • southern minnesota has its beauty too... just back in the woods.. the corns fields are ugly though... winter in minnesota is beautiful

  • I live in Minnesota and I absolutely love it here. This video is a nice taste of our wilderness in my home state, but the urban areas are also awesome.

  • It's beautiful - water's a little chilly, but it's beautiful.

  • People who say our state sucks and is (cough cough full of obese women) usually have not stayed long enough. In the summer its very beautiful. North Carolina is a living hellhole

  • minnesota looks like a pretty cool place

  • If you don't like minnesota, you probably wouldn't be happy anywhere for very long because you would get discontent.

  • i went to minnesota once. nothing but obese women there. it was nasty and cold too. north carolina is the place to be. beautiful country and never cold here.

  • I think the winters here make people fatter cause they dont do anything

  • According to statistics Minnesota is the healthiest state and North Carolina isn't in the top 15

  • Minnesota is a beautiful place. And Boundary waters is a heaven on the earth.

    From Russia with love.

  • been to split rock, man it blew me away!

  • Do you ever see Prince camping out in a little purple tent, making love to his tent peg?

  • Video was nicely done Paul, very informitive and scenic. Been through Minnesota on the Amtrak "Empire Builder" twice back to Michigan and the scenery was very lush and green.

We are very Blessed here in the N.W. corner of Oregon as well but fortunately don't have the harsh Winters and Lil' if no humidity in the Summers.

    Love Photography as well!

    Take care, Dave

  • contrary to what i've and others have lived through- i like camping

  • Yah sure. You betcha.

Made my first visit to the Great Lakes area last spring and was very impressed with the beautiful scenery there.

Don't think I could handle the winters though. ;->

  • I live very close to Itasca!!

    Very beautiful area!!

    Love going camping there!! :)

  • Five starts.

  • Thank you, great piece. I'm looking for more information on Woodland Minnesota, if you can direct me where to go.

  • Thankyou to Rick Allen who showed me 'round the Boundary Waters in 1984. One of the most endearing memories of my life. A wonderful and beautiful area of the United States.

  • gosh! so beautiful! gotta visit MN regardless of the cold! :)

  • its actually not that cold. its pretty decent weather. only the winter is cold but your so destracted by the beauty to worry about the cold

  • yeah the summers here in Minnesota are probably worse than Texas because of the humidity.

But it's so pretty! I never want to move to another state.

But yeah, winters can get freezing..below. haha. but the snow is gorgeous.

I've been to most of the places in this video. Absolutely beautiful.

  • Beautiful video and great guy. I used to work for Paul at Gooseberry State Park and you can believe that he knows his stuff! I would bet that he hasn't revealed his true favorites!!!

  • i love Minn!

    i grew up there,

    but..

knw i live in the Philippines..

    :((

    i miss it SOOO much!

    its so beautiful

  • Don't foget about Lake Bronson State Park!!! :D

  • Thank you for sharing this beautiful video! I consider MN home even though I grew up in Oklahoma, and only lived in MN for 3 yrs. Once MN is home, no other place compares!

  • i love Minnesota.. we have the beautiful weather, wild flowers, corn, lakes.. and the country sides, like where i live.

First hour of holidays.. u'll see boats on the road.. we need to travel early to get a parking slot.

I love wild camping.. even if i can't sleep well at night :) ... and ohhh.. i learned fishing here.. except touching that leach for my bait :(

Minnesota is a total opposite of my birth country.

  • I live in San Francisco and love the city, but my heart aches for Minnesota.

  • my heart aches for minnesota too! i live in oklahoma.

  • US get out of MINNESOTA!

  • I love living in MN mainly for that reason. My hubby and I just took our 2 year old on his first camping trip and he loved it! We are going again at the end of the month and I can't wait :)

  • I have been taking "virtual trips" on You Tube, placing a state in the search box and looking for links like this one. Anyone else out there do this?

Minnesota looks so beautiful. One day I want to visit there. I love nature and miss the northern forests. I grew up in the northeast and live in FL now, and although I live only 20 minutes from a national wildlife refuge here, I miss the northern vegetation. One day, I'll visit your beautiful state. Thanks for the beautiful images.

  • minnesota is my favorite state, but im from massachusetts!

  • Why is Minnesota your favorite state? Its mine to mostly because i live in minnesota.

  • i like it because its name is cool,my favorite basketball team plays there(timberwolves). well not my favorite, celtics are my favorite team....GO BOSTON!!!!!! but the timberwolves r my 2nd favorite team. i somehow really like this state, i dont know why though. i want to move here when i grow up.

  • Theirs some advantages about living in minnesota and disadvantages. Why do you like the timberwolves they suck?

  • who cares if they suck, I like the players that they have. And also because they gave us Kevin Garnett. haha lol, you guy dont have any super-stars. hahaha

  • I dont like basketball. So i dont watch the timberwolves

  • Baseball is better.

    :D

    GO TWINS!

  • I have spent a week in the boundary waters canoeing over 70 miles starting from Superior Norht Outfitters to Lake Saganaga, Trafalgar Bay, Southeast Bay, and back. No phone reception, no internet, to t.v. It is nice to get away from it all every once and a while. I look forward to going back. Everyone who likes to do high adventure trips I highly recomend trying out the Boundary Waters.

  • OMG ive been conoing up in northern minnesota to and i went for like 12 miles and i was so tired!

  • Yeah we trained off and on for a year before going up there. Most of the canoing was done in three days. We would canoe one day and kind of relax the next then we were off again. It was hard but definately worth the training.

  • Sounds fun though

  • pussy!vvv haha get used to the cold

  • Minnesota sucks!!! Its so cold!!! I'm wearing a jacket right now in my house sitting in front of a space heater!!! But, its got nice cities.
