Well programed video ... keep the photographer. The places and State Parks you mentioned are some of my favorites also! Trails End Campsite at the end of the Gunflint Trail is a favorite ... to sit on the High Bluff of you site and listen to the loons and canoes coming and going is something special.
Is that a joke? the punishment for up to 42.5 grams is a misdemeanor carrying a fine up to $200.00 and no incarceration. I been busted plenty and they always drop the charges just for showing up to court
Is that a joke the punishment for up to 42.5 grams is a misdemeanor carrying a fine up to $200.00 and no incarceration. I been busted plenty and they always drop the charges just for showing up.
HOORAY FOR MINNESOTA the only place in USA where first time marijuana offender caught with one marijuana cigarette runs a great risk still, in the 21st century of getting 9 months in jail and a 10,000 fine
I was just at Split Rock Lighthouse. If anyone reading this is about to go there, than I would recommend going to Wolf Ridge. It's a great rope course that my mom's cousin used to own.
My family is somewhat thinking of moving to Minnesota, I used to live there when I was about 4. No memory of it, this video probably doesn't even give me a piece of the true beauty which is Minnesota. We plan to find land 30-50 miles from the nearest city/town. Heh, I imagine if we do move there i could be 'living' survivor man in my backyard.
A great town (around the area your family is looking at) is called Wayzata. The homes are a bit expensive, but many people who live there say it's worth it. Wayzata has a beautiful lake (called Wayzata Lake), the J.J. Hill Jr. Parade, great schools, great restaurants, great shops, nice people, and a trolley in the summer. A place I personally love there is a bakery called Woulette's. It's just a nice place to, at least, visit.
My 1st fishing trip to MN was when my dad took us to Two Harbors, along North Shore and we dipped for smelt with the Izaak Walton League. We did this in the early 70's and from what I understand I was really blessed to see the massive numbers of smelt like I did, because it has declined ever since and now, the numbers are really low. So I no longer smelt and instead, we LOVE heading to Lake Kawishiwi, just west of the Sawbill Trail. (n. out of Tofte) AWESOME AND PRIVATE AND BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!
probably because the water has been down for over 10 years. The waters this year have risen a lot and are back to normal, so the smelt should be plentiful.
This video has just convinced me to come visit Minnesota .... !! I"m from the Pacific Northwest where there are lots of woods and beautiful camping places... BUT dam Minnesota has some nice looking places as well... nice video
Very nice production and photography. Indeed the BWCAW area is the best on earth. I count myself lucky to spend much of the year on Gunflint Lake. Thanks for this video!
Yea great, minnesota the most beatiuful place in the world even if i haven t even been there. Just seen pictures and movies but i would love in, i just know it
Just to let you know, most, if not all movies set in Minnesota are actually filmed in Canada, for MN's taxes aren't favored by the producers or something. :/
You people are funny, Minnesota has more to it than fat women and snow. Hah, I laugh at the people up there who envy me for living in Florida. I honestly HATE it here and I'm ECSTATIC about going back to Minnesota. It's humid, hot, and sticky here. It fucking sucks and it's full of rich, snobby bitches. The people in Minnesota are nice and genuine and don't care what brand your clothing is. Yeah, sure, there's Disney World, but that's about it. Too bad no one can afford to go there EVERY DAY.
I live in Minnesota and I absolutely love it here. This video is a nice taste of our wilderness in my home state, but the urban areas are also awesome.
People who say our state sucks and is (cough cough full of obese women) usually have not stayed long enough. In the summer its very beautiful. North Carolina is a living hellhole
i went to minnesota once. nothing but obese women there. it was nasty and cold too. north carolina is the place to be. beautiful country and never cold here.
Video was nicely done Paul, very informitive and scenic. Been through Minnesota on the Amtrak "Empire Builder" twice back to Michigan and the scenery was very lush and green.
We are very Blessed here in the N.W. corner of Oregon as well but fortunately don't have the harsh Winters and Lil' if no humidity in the Summers.
Thankyou to Rick Allen who showed me 'round the Boundary Waters in 1984. One of the most endearing memories of my life. A wonderful and beautiful area of the United States.
Beautiful video and great guy. I used to work for Paul at Gooseberry State Park and you can believe that he knows his stuff! I would bet that he hasn't revealed his true favorites!!!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video! I consider MN home even though I grew up in Oklahoma, and only lived in MN for 3 yrs. Once MN is home, no other place compares!
I love living in MN mainly for that reason. My hubby and I just took our 2 year old on his first camping trip and he loved it! We are going again at the end of the month and I can't wait :)
I have been taking "virtual trips" on You Tube, placing a state in the search box and looking for links like this one. Anyone else out there do this?
Minnesota looks so beautiful. One day I want to visit there. I love nature and miss the northern forests. I grew up in the northeast and live in FL now, and although I live only 20 minutes from a national wildlife refuge here, I miss the northern vegetation. One day, I'll visit your beautiful state. Thanks for the beautiful images.
what is that place again BWCA? how do i learn more about it? there is a group of people of us we would like to find some beautiful place near lake to camp, it could anywhere else not only Brainerd. any suggestions? thanks

Everyone who likes to do high adventure trips I highly recomend trying out the Boundary Waters.
Yeah we trained off and on for a year before going up there. Most of the canoing was done in three days. We would canoe one day and kind of relax the next then we were off again. It was hard but definately worth the training.
minn kind of like washington where i am but i like deep woods camping, washington has the best as minn, love my state, city people ruin it with garbage and crime, pay over 400 bucks each time i go camping in deep woods on my vehicle so scared to go anymore, check out my pic vid thanks

Everyone says Minnesota is as close as it gets to Scandinavia.
I don't wish to disagree.
100-150 years ago, many poor Scandinavians emmigrated to this magnificent part of the US.
Today, Scandinavia is richer than any other part of the Earth and the average car in "poor" Sweden is the $35 000 Volvo V70.
