Not sure after the engine problems but I didn't think it wouldn't have that much of an effect. You can see the current list of a380 flights on the qantas a380 website. I think Singapore airlines also has an a380 that comes into Melbourne.
It will be either QF93 or 94 (which ever one use to fly on Wednesday mornings). This was filmed when Qantas only had two A380 flights operating out of Melbourne.
There are plenty of good spots. Try a google search for 'plane spotting Melbourne airport'. Its going to be easier than me trying to describe them...sorry.
your lucky, when i go to a viewing spot there are no planes.... then i leave to go to another one and all the big planes and others come in from my last spot!!! it really annoys me!
hahaha, I know how you feel. I nearly missed the A380 on a different occasion because of the same reason. Grab your self a radio scanner, they are great fun and you can tune into the atis frequency to find out which run way they are landing on. Good luck with the spotting.
@aquatone01 aquatone01 YEAH bro....I bet Luck was on ya side..coz most people try really hard 2 get so cool shots still are unsuccessful. Plus the time of the day..amazing daylight hrs..with night creeping in..it just gives that x factor to ya video and the lights look cool on the plane.Plus u have two planes in a single shot..loved it bro! It's kinda very scary in the sense tht the jet seems to almost come directly at ya ae...cool bro!Awesome stuff!Choice shot!:-)
Thanks for the tip, I will have to check that one out. I recently went to the point cook airshow. I am guessing you would have gone to that one. I have about 3 hours of video to edit but hopefully will have something up in the next few weeks.
It looks as though you are positioned left of the 34TH, noticed the wind from the trees, there does not seem to be a huge amount of movement from them when you consider the crab angles on the aircraft, but then again that might be perhaps because of your location relative to the APP.
I was exactly where you describe, just left of the 34th, next to the golf course. There was a lot of wind on the ground although its not that clear from the trees. As you say, you can see by the angle of the plane there must have been a lot of wind up at that height.
i love how the sound of the engines being put into reverse thrust, just drowns out all other sounds.
