  • What? That's not David Sedaris.

  • Perfect !!! - also, David quit smoking- so no you did NOT need a cigarette.

  • Hilarious, but you have to speak English to get the joke.

  • whoshavedmymulletdotcom is my blog and i get compared to Sedaris a lot if anyone is remotely interested. I'm a female version of him with far less tact and a way more dysfunctional fucked up family.

  • AMAZING!

  • awesum. well done.

  • the writing is excellent.

  • Should have smoked a cigarette!

  • too cute - lol

  • ahahahahahahah!

  • Hysterical! His father smelled of brine...... Sedaris is the best.

  • Fucking great.

  • So funny! you guys totally rock.

  • anybody else take the time to appreciate the fact that the pizza's cold by the time he finishes?

  • Love it! Perfect!

  • DEAD ON! that was AWESOME!

  • That's a Freaky Mothafocka!

  • @PedoLouie I'll agree that this isn't one of his *best* bits (his best is probably Jesus Shaves or Six to Eight Black Men) and they should have had the entire thing shown, but David Sedaris is the undenaibly one of the funniest men ever, up there with the Monty python team and Dane cook. ^^

  • @PedoLouie So if you don't rate the guy, why watch? There's a million comedians out there who leave me cold and I haven't once searched out any of their schtick on YouTube.

  • 749 people havent matured past fart jokes.

  • "The macaw was gray, with beady eyes" - hahaha oh I love this!

  • Genius.

  • Lots of content. Way too fun! :-)

  • heheheh....

  • This is SPOT on, love this.

  • ..like unambitious dragons.

  • Spot on. :D

  • Who the hell ordered all this cake mix? and why'd have it delivered here?... hilarious.

  • love it. He is a genius.

  • LOL love!

    You nailed it =)

  • I laughed so hard...

  • Spot. 'Effing. On. *laughs*

  • This is supposed to be funny?

  • LOL

  • Yeah, but Sedaris is funny...

  • @PaintYourSilence Well yeah, doesnt mean you cant make joke about him

  • That seemed closer to a Woody Allen impression than David Sedaris in my opinion.

  • Absolute genius. I was waiting for him to start eating the pizza.

  • OMG that's a pretty good impression!

  • Very funny idea, and well-executed!

  • make it stop

  • Fucking awesome, but you gotta be a Sedaris fan to rly appreciate it

  • @gotalittlecaptain Agreed... and I am. That's why I found it hilarious.

  • his mind is like an onion. it makes me cry but then I remember all the good days and I realize that the onions were actually Christmas ornaments and I really liked remembering them twinkling in the tree.

  • Wow. Epic.

  • My hero.

  • The Macaw was grey, with beady eyes.

  • Enh......

  • Blubbering in the night. I suspect David is personally behind this charade.

  • HAHAHAHAhahahahahah!

  • Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Wonderfully meta...

  • Hilarious! Believable.

  • the best!

  • So...??

  • Oh my god, this is hilarious. I love Sedaris, but you made me laugh almost as hard. Holy crap.

  • Myles Nye is the man.

  • YOU are!

  • is that andy dick? I like sedaris very much but even though i guess that is making fun of him it is still pretty funny. good job.

  • Really good!!! Awesome impression.

  • I gave you a slip of paper with the title of this video + 'youtube', on the subway this morning. I hope you liked it.

  • I love how you mention both his mother and the midget. Somehow those two subjects pop up in every project he does.

  • Take it to the Limit

    fastloverfun (.com)

  • That's the point, you have to like him to even get the joke.

  • @Faraquet

no you just have to be at least mildy educated and possibly of a middle class background. i just heard of this guy like two seconds ago and found him to be mostly awesome. you my friend are less then stellar and probably from england.

  • Dead on

  • the macaw was gray with beady eyes!

    He's too hilarious

  • i COL'd

  • cummed out loud?

  • doesn't look like him, but kudos

  • Love,love,LOVED IT !!!!!!!!

  • SO good.

  • oh my god, this is amazing

  • "shirttails flapping in the breeze behind them, like unambitious dragons..." LOL very well done! and that's rare on youtube. love it!

  • Hahah, brilliant.

An incredibly spot-on impersonation. David would be proud.

  • Naked is one of my favorite Sedaris books :)

  • Are you standing in a closet?

  • That was a pretty good impersonation.

  • Hahahaha... I didn't think anyone would bother or know how to satirize David Sedaris, but you proved me wrong. It makes me sad though because I couldn't put my finger on what made him funny before... and now, it is all so obvious. Thanks?

  • As a HUGE David Sedaris fan, this was great to watch. Thanks!

    Well done!

    JM

  • AWESOME Sedaris impression!!!

    -JC

  • i agree

  • oh my god... i love david sedaris, and this guy is practically channeling hm.

  • "like unambitious dragons"

  • Shirt tails flapping in the breeze. Absolutely hilarious!!!! I have all of his books! The latest one, "When You're Engulfed in Flames," has the essay about the Stadium Pal - and more....

My favorite author/humorist. Who doesn't love David Sedaris?

  • Gee....wish this was actually David Sedaris. He sounds more like Andy Dick....when he's sober.

  • i don't see what all the hype is about....

  • DS rules

  • this is really, really, really good

  • lolololol

  • this is lame. Give me real david sedaris 1

  • This is the funniest thing ever.

  • what the hell. I love David Sedaris so much.

  • DS is awesome...this is a little weird. but great quotes though!

  • dead on!

  • that doesnt look like him...

  • who cares

  • I like Sedaris, but somehow, this isn't funny.

  • I've watched this a billion times and have always ended up laughing

  • I don't understand why this doesn't have four million 5 star ratings.

  • awesome

  • Really funny.

  • i wish sedaris would deliver my pizza.

  • LMFAO!

  • I laugh EVERY time...

  • Did some of those quotes actually came from his stories? Some seemed familiar.

  • um.... wannbe?? you dont have the lisp

  • lol

  • fucking great

  • DITTO!

  • WTF!!!!!

  • Oh my god, this is probably the funniest thing I've seen all year.

  • This is so amazing!

  • hahahahaha

  • LMAO

  • too funny

  • very very good

  • That was just great! Flawless imitation, really.

  • ha. excellent.

  • "Two grown men, blubbering in the night." XD

  • i think this is a parpahrase of his story "Crybaby",

it actually says, "two grown men, each blubbering in their own elite puddle of light"

    forgive me.

    i'm a fan.

    :)

  • It contains similarities/parodies to many of his works

  • LOL I love David Sedaris, I even saw him live at a huge theatre...but this is a great parody!!

  • awesome! I like the end hehehe...

  • i think this video is awesomely beautiful

  • If you love Sedaris like I do this was very funny

  • I think this is actually good.

  • That was amazing, haha.

  • Creative and funny. Did you make this video for a class or for fun?

  • That's amazing. I love David Sedaris, and that's still so funny and so true. Well done.

  • H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!!!!!

You got it right on - his accent and his writing style!!!! More, more, more, more!

  • I'm a huge Sedaris fan... this cracked me up.

  • LOL - That isn't David Sedaris; anyone who has seen/heard David Sedaris even half a dozen times knows this kid is doing a poor impression at best. Sedaris is now in his 50s, this guy looks 27 or so.

  • Hey masonpitzel - I'm an idiot? Okay, you're an idiot.

That was fun! What sort of name-calling shall we engage in next?

OT: What is wrong with YouTube's comments? Where is the threading? I can't tell whose comments are replies and whose are standalone...

  • Hahaha! <3

  • This clip and Sedaris are hysterical. He can take the least interesting topic, ramble about it for 5 pages and make it very funny. That is comic genius!

  • This is absolutely hysterical. I love David Sedaris' work, and this is a great combination of satire and tribute. "Shirt-tails flapping in the breeze behind them, like unambitious dragons" might be my favorite line, or maybe "after that the carousel was off-limits".

  • "Shirt-tails flapping in the breeze behind them, like unambitious dragons" might be my favourite line of anything ever.

  • Hahaha that was so great! I agree, the impersonation was spot on!

  • Hilarious. Very good impression/satire.

  • Really?

  • i dont think thats really him

  • to mylostreality...

yes you are the only one

  • maybe.

  • Your misuse of logic is astonishing. Just about all of Europe has universal health care. Just about all of Europe was at war with Nazi Germany. Therefore, you're an idiot.

  • define "liberal"

  • ...shirttails flapping lazily in the breeze behind them, like unambitious dragons...my father, smelling irretrievably of brine...

This captures David Sedaris' literary voice so well

  • NICE!!!

  • Spot on.
