  • You all may have commented on this as it is for your wedding but for me I'm playing this on National Day (Pre-NDP Special), so this song for me is not about weddings and marriages.

  • I love this film. It is so sad, that it is never shown in German TV!

  • Hahaha

  • WHAO!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK those babies singing are creepy as fuck!!!!!!! IMAO

  • Haha he really wanted to say no Haha

  • @solerboys19 I think kermit was set up or black mailed into this by piggy

  • lovely <3

  • "What better way could anything end? Hand in hand with a friend."

    *swoooons*

  • did you see lips right between foo-foo and lewis kazagar?

  • I wish piggy would have married Gonzo. :-(

  • This is really great. piggy looks so pretty.

  • I wish someone would upload the whole movie :(

  • 2:08 has uncle Traveling Matt in the front row right side.

  • When I first saw this movie when it zoomed out to everyone I did nothing but stare at big bird, then I re-winded it and watched the rest.

  • I love rewatching Kermit and my wedding and thank you everyone else for watching. I Look Beautiful In This Just Look At My Dress oh and Kermit looks Handsome 2. Yea He Betta Had Said Yes Caused It Wouldda Turned From a Wedding Into His Funeral.

  • does anybody else get a big goofy grin whenever they see big bird or kermit?

  • QUE HERMOSA BODA!!! CON TODOS LOS MUPPETS !!!!!

  • This movie fails because Sweetums does not appear in it. Not even at this wedding scene.

  • Is it wrong that before Kermit says 'I do,' I now think of Katy Perry's "Hot n Cold"?

  • this is just my guess, but i think that the wedding takes place after the musical opens. also, when kermit says gonzo was suppose to play the minister, hes talking about the movie they are in right now

  • @darkcloud1111 If you're right, that is the single most self-referential reference in Muppet history.

  • @IJVin wouldn't be the first time. In The Muppet Movie, Kermit gives Dr. Teeth the script to the movie. In the Great Caper, Ms. Piggy talks to the audience more than once. Muppet Treasure Island even has a tour group for the movie

  • @darkcloud1111 Trust me, the fourth-wall breaks are some of my favorite parts of Muppet movies. The idea of the Muppets playing themselves in the movie playing characters in the Broadway show is almost expected, but the big idea here is that it was just the Muppet characters who were going to be married with Gonzo as the priest. Then, Piggy springs the real priest on Kermit and actor-Kermit realizes that this is for real. That is fantastic.

  • im watching this movie on tv right now never sew it hope its good

  • Some may think it's silly to have a Muppet song in a wedding, but I don't care- I'm getting married next year and I'm playing this song. :-)

  • @amesmb congrats

  • @sillygose904 Thanks! :-D

  • Do youu ? iii iiii doooooooo xD

  • Just wondering - this wedding in set on a Broadway stage, so how are the audience in the theatre watching if the church set in enclosed?

  • Pretty segregated wedding!! Frogs on one side...Anyone who lives on sesame street in the back...Muppets Tonight cast, front row...Penguins get in the choir box...everyone else standing room only!!!

  • @bubbabeatz1 Traditionally in weddings, the brides family sits on one side (the pigs) and the groom's on the other side (the frogs) and the additional guests fill in on the side of the person they are closer to. (:

  • @bubbabeatz1 Technically there was no Muppets Tonight cast back then. They're the Muppet Show cast. ;)

  • So when they have kids, will they have Phigs?

  • @elvis3700 HEHEHEH

  • why is there seasame charecters at the wedding

  • @dovewing3 because the characters from seasame street are also muppets, they were both created by the same guy, but they are monsters and live on seasame street

  • I get all teary-eyed when they're coming down the aisle. Such a beautiful song about love.

  • LOL, Ms. Piggy and Kermits family is bawling x] (mostly ms piggys side of the family)

  • LOL, Ms. Piggy and Kermits family is bawling x]

  • Hehe...now I get it. They were gonna have Gonzo as the minister for the performance, but Piggy decided to get a real minister so that the marriage between her and Kermit would be valid. X3

  • @seiyaslove that's right...this is what we like to call... a trap

  • Is The Pig Family And Frog Family Gets Tears Of Sorrow Or Joy?

  • @cellokid I think both, LOL :P

  • Awh I miss all these guys I totally bawled my eyes out to this.

  • It's so lovely, I couldn't stop myself from crying each time I see that video.

  • Anyone notice that Janice (the guitar player in the band) is wearing a tux with the other guys?? Kinda threw me off. But oh well. :)

  • @ahmischief,

    Yes exactly!

That part totally threw me off as a kid too.

Why is Janice wearing a tux?

I thought I was the only one who was confused by that!

Because Janice is such a feminine gal.

  • @ahmischief,

The ironic thing is that wasn't the first time Janice wore a tux.

She wore a tuxedo in "The Muppets Go To The Movies" and in the "Muppets: A Celebration of 30 years."

But she wore a pink sequined dress in the Lola Falana episode of The Muppet Show.

And she wore a magenta dress in another episode.

So it's confusing to me too.

She's very feminine but seems to don a tux at formal events.

  • If, and that is a big IF, I ever get married I want this song to play.

  • This makes me cry, it's so beautiful. Huge warm fuzzies moment.

  • .... dedicado a mi amigaaa sarahiiiiiii y charlyyyyy con mucho cariñooooo

    .... muchisimas felicidadeeeees ..... =)

  • ..."because you share a love so big, i now pronounce you frog and pig....."

    I love it!!

  • 1:31 those babies are creapy

  • Anyone notice Bert and Ernie talking at the beginning? I think it's a tribute to Jim Henson and Frank Oz, who also voiced Kermit and Fozzie.

  • I feel like I got screwed over. This was my first witness to a "wedding' and so for about 6 years I thought the groom and the bride walked together down the aisle. It wasn't until my brother's wedding that I learned the truth. ROTFLOL

  • @danjigirl88 Same!!!

  • @danjigirl88 You know now that you mention it, I think I thought the same thing as a child, lol. Personally I'd like it better than the whole idea of the bride being "given" to the groom, hehe. ;)

  • this always confused me, was this their wedding or a scene on their broadway show

  • @JCfreak88 Both. They were performing a musical where the two leads marry at the end, but Pigathia here messes with the casting so that a real minister is hired in Gonzo's place.

  • @JCfreak88

Piggy hires a real minister trying to trick Kermit into marrying her.The real wedding between Kermit and Piggy took place back in the 70s while they worked on the muppet show but didnt want to diminish their sexual tension or Piggys sex symbol status by revealing they were a committed couple. They still keep up the in-character charade today despite being a happy couple for a few decades now and their kids appearing in Muppet Christmas Carol with them

  • @TrollCapAmerica Is it really their children? I thought Robin was Kermit's nephew, not his son.

  • @Angie2343 Robin is his nephew. In other movies Robin calls Kermit Uncle Kermit

  • I want to see their mutant frog pig babies.

  • at 2:11 you can sort of see beautiful day monster near the back of the sesame street isle and he's right bye telly

  • sesame street cameos lol

  • so good the priest didn't give them communion because cookie monster would think it's cookie :)

  • @kruppenstein,

I can just picture Cookie Monster running down the aisle.

"Oh! Oh! Me! Me want cookie! Me want to eat cookie! OM NOM NOM!"

All while Miss Piggy stands there pissed off.

  • Whose Perform 12 Chorus Of Penguins?

  • This is exactly the wedding I want. Penguin choir in all!

  • found this out if anyone is wonder who was at the wedding.....

    Search the Muppet Wiki for

    The_Muppets_Take_Manhattan_Wedding_Seating_Chart

still get chills with this scene after all these years.... :)

  • did i mis it am i late

  • i used to get chills when i was young hering all of the muppets singing together !!!

  • I do love a good wedding!

  • OMG UNCLE TRAVELING MATT!!!! I Used to love Watching Fraggle Rock!!! He Was The Funnyist!...well Wembley was the sillyist fraggle

  • 1:36, never noticed how terrifying the muppet babies are. i love the muppets. I LOVE THE MUPPETS! this song in particular is lovely :-)

  • I never knew that semanstraat from the muppets is!

  • I do Love a good wedding!

  • link hog is crying

  • Such a beautiful song for the muppets to be singing. But I think there's other pretty songs they sing as well.

  • Where are Waldorf & Statler?

  • @nord8088 If you look carefully, you can see Statler in the back row on the side opposite of the Sesame Street cast.

  • Kermit played the reporter in sesame street if i remember right...with the card saying "Press" in his hatband and wearing his lil trench coat. Love the muppets/sesame street

  • You know, I think a parody of this was done on SpongeBob.

  • I would marry kermit any day xx

  • We had a friend arrange this song for acoustic guitar. He played and sang it as I walked down the aisle this past summer! It is truly the MOST PERFECT wedding song ever!

  • LMao.... Nice one... switching the fake for a real Minister. That must give some women Ideas.. xD *got the idea also, but is too nice to trick a man into marriage*

  • That was a real miinister I bet! Piggy must have hired him. So she and Kermit really were married!

  • @shanmer391: Well, this film was Jim's last feature with his Muppet creations, his cameo and controlling of his characters in "Muppet Family Christmas" notwithstanding. So, the Muppet 'family' had to wrap up this era somehow.

  • every time i watch this i cry i was robed of my childhood long live the muppets and Jim Hanson

  • This is just how I imagine my wedding.

  • elmo is in this. pause between 2:05 and like 2:15. He is in the 2nd pew from the back almost all the way to the right. He has a blue guy to the right of him (as we are looking at him and not on his side like we we are seeing through his eyes.) Big bird is directly behind him.

  • 1:53 always was the best part of the song. still makes me choke up ever since the first time i saw it when i was 4 or 5. absolutely beautiful.

  • hey its 123 seaseme street

  • Bostonscholar,

It is both part of the show and real. The show that Kermit wrote called for the two leads to get married at the end. The two lead roles were played by Kermit and Piggy. But, Piggy fixed it so that it would be a real minister there rather then a fake one that was supposed to be played by Gonzo. Hence Kermit's line " I thought Gonzo was supposed to play the minister."

  • I would love to have had "He'll Make me Happy" played at my wedding. One of the best endings in movie history

  • @gettinhitched one of the few movie endings that still chokes me up every time :)

  • @gettinhitched me encantaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • chapel doors open and close... is this still part of the Broadway show or is it a wedding alone?

  • @bostonscholar I think it was part of the Broadway show since Kermit says "I thought Gonzo was supposed to play the part of the minister."

  • @bostonscholar tha show

  • My favorite line and scene in the movie is where the babies and the older ladies sing this line:

"Days go passing into years, years go passing day by day."

    How true....

  • I'd love to have my wedding be like that

  • @Angie2343

u have a point his height is alright but his length would crush the set

i also couldn't see the two elderly men in the scene

  • @LumPeyCusTerEd Even Oscar and Grudgetta are enjoying themselves.

  • FINALLY XD Good for you kermit XD you finally showed your feelings to her =D

  • Even Oscar and Grundgetta are enjoying themselves.

  • I don't know why the cast of the Muppet Show AND the cast of Sesame Street being together in the same movie would EVER be sureal, but strangely it is.

  • And don't forget about Gobo's uncle Matt he in it too Ultimate Thanos.

  • Comment removed

  • Elmo was there but you just couldn't see him.

  • Elmo was on there he was behind miss piggys thingy over her face... (it is a red dot)

  • I actually made a folk beatlesque version of this song for my own sister's wedding, ha . Just click on my profile if you'd like to see it!

  • I love this ... this brings back so many childhood memories.

  • nice

but theres no mr snuffleluffagus (sesame street)

  • @LumPeyCusTerEd He'd crush the set.

  • @LumPeyCusTerEd: He wouldn't have been able to fit inside the chapel. Same reason why he was not at the Muppet Family Christmas gathering...he wouldn't have been able to fit in Emily Bear's farm house.

  • I wish Elmo were there.

  • @kayadel Elmo is there, in front of Guy Smiley.

  • How can oscar and grundgetta come when Miss Piggy says he'll make me happy each time I see him he'll be the reason my heart can see He'll stand beside me and I'll have everything.

  • very cute ^_^

  • Days go passing into years. Years go passing day by day. Damn that profound. I quote that line often.

  • this is tooc cute! kermit's friends from sesame street came to the wedding too :)

  • its amazing how many people are in this movie its cool at 2:10

  • well what's really amazing is that Oscar & Grundgetta came

  • It's so well done.

  • "Piggy, I thought Gonzo was going to be the minister"

Piggy looks at him for a moment and luaghs

I love that part, not sure why....

  • i love this <3

  • one of the best love songs ever!

  • ths is my favorite muppet move!!! jim henson is definitely the king of puppets!! R.I.P jim you are deeply missed!!!

  • aww... so sweet! luv this movie~~

  • This is by far the best wedding scene, i cry every time. Love this movie.

  • Awweee ^_^ so cute!! And I love how all their old sesame street friends are there too

  • 2:05-2:17 sounds epic in French.

  • This always makes me cry. BARPOBARPO you stole my idea :)

  • This is so touching, even though you know it's not real. And a beautiful song too. Also great to see the Sesame Street gang, the classic era.

  • @CarlD2: Shhh...You don't tell Muppet fans that stuff like this is fake. Sure, they know the "reality" of things--i.e. that the characters are puppeteered--but even so, the characters are real to the point that people look past the performer and see the puppet as "alive".

  • Walked down the aisle in my own wedding to this song!

  • OMG!!!!! that is sooooooooooo cool!!!

  • this was great movie

  • AWESOME quality!

Best quality of this scene I've seen!

  • I am playing this in memory of Patrick Swayze.... I hope that he can give her the strength to go one... They were a one of a kind couple just like Kermit and Piggy.....

  • I was trying to talk about his wife..... but I was crying...

  • romantic moment

    i love kermit

  • I think this scene is my 2nd favorite Muppet scene of all time. #1 being the Carol sing in "A Muppet Family Christmas".

The reason for those 2 being the top 2, is they have ALL the Muppet characters (Muppets, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock).

  • hei where is elmo

  • If you look at the far right of the screen when the Sesame Street cast looks back, you'll see him for a brief second.

  • thats not elmo its telly!! elmo was'nt around back then yet !!

  • Not Telly. The scene I mean is at 0:34. Either on the second or third row forward. All you see is the front of his head on the right edge of the screen. What I'm seeing is definitely the muppet who would become Elmo.

  • dude im sorry but i dont see what your talking about !! i watched sesame street when i was kid back in the 70's, and i dont remember elmo being around even into the 80's! i dont think he came around till the 90's!!! i may be wrong tho i dont !!!

  • @nibornna: You are wrong. Elmo started in the 80's (in fact, he annoyed Kermit during the frog's last years on the Street). I can vouche for that. Kevin Clash didn't perfect the character until the 90's, however.

  • @TherealRNO then why don't i remember him as a kid back in the 80's???

  • @nibornna: Because he was still a background character. It wasn't until he wrote "Elmo's Song" that focus began to gravite towards him. Before that, he was just a spotlight stealer, taking the helper role from Grover (he called Kermit 'Mister Green Frog' in the same way Grover called him 'Froggy Baby') & taking Big Bird's naive role (complete with singing ABCEFGHI, Bird's signature song). Oddly, the melody and tune of "Elmo's Song" became the theme of Elmo's World when it debuted in 1998.

  • @TherealRNO O.K I BELIVE YOU!!! i just don't remember watching him on sesame street as a kid back in the late 70's to early 80's. it all good, sorry if i upset you. i just don't remember him, but that was like 29 year's ago!!!

  • @nibornna: I'm not upset. I just posted the links just in case you were skeptical.

  • I see him but in a different scene where they are singing from side to side. He is next to the Game show announcer. And also when they start to cheer.

  • I didn't see Telly at all he wasn't there.

  • Ooh! I think I saw a fraggle.

  • That is uncle Travlin Matt Gobo's Nepew

    from Fraggle Rock

  • I know! This is the only classic Muppet movie any Fraggle appears in. The only exception to this was when Sprocket the dog(or at least the puppet that played him) appeared in "Muppet Christmas Carol" and "Muppet Treasure Island".

  • Pooleman: 1987's Muppet Family Christmas would disagree with you. In it, the entire Muppet family is together.

  • I meant classic Muppet movie as in the movies they did, not the specials. I know they Fraggles appeared alongside everyone else in "Muppet Family Christmas", not to mention "The Muppets' Celebration of 30 Years".

  • @Pooleman96: Christmas specific or not, Muppet Family Christmas was a film. The "Celebrations" though, were actual specials not tied to the canon, however.

  • Gawd I love this one so badly LoL

specially watching Kermit get the feeling something's happening at the last minute.. sooooo sweet XD

  • This always tugs at the heart strings every time I watch it :o)

  • one of them is elmo

  • My favorite scene aside from the muppet baby part. It just grabs you right by the heart. Great for a guy to express his love to his woman.
