The gt-r isnt really that much of a bargin why waste 70k on this ugly and boreing understeering gt-r when you could get something like an ariel atom that just beat's nearly anything and it would cost you a lot less than half the price.
Im no expert, but i dont think you could compare a GTR to an Atom fairly. In my opinion, the GTR is a showcase of what the Japanese could make a V6 do and the people who buys GTR's, should I dare say, rather arrive at point B from point A with their face facing the correct direction..either that or does not prefer helmet hair.
Yeah but car's designed to go round the track fast arent supossed to wiegh nearly 2 ton's and the gt-r just doesnt feel all that fast and it doesnt really handle that well compared to those light wieght track car's that wiegh around half a ton sure the gt-r may be more practical and civillized but people want something exiting and fun like a caterham 7 or an areil atom those car's power to wieght ratio's are way out of the gt-r s reach.
The GT-R wasn't designed to purely attack the tracks, if it was they wouldn't bother putting an extra row of seats in the back. Remember the KPGC10,C110GTRs? Those weren't track cars either! I hate to repeat myself, but like i said before, They aren't in the same class!!! The GTRs windshield isn't an option part, and can be composed and relaxing to drive. In the same sense, I cant compare an Atom to a Bentley Continental GT, One is a track car and one is a speed cruiser. So please stop comparing

The gt-r is a very ugly car i've seen it in person it's bigger than it looks its the size of an m6 and the gt-r looks as normal as any other car you see on the street and the gt-r in person is 1000 time's uglier than the gt-r on paper and further more the gt-r s steering response's are not that procise rember it's a big and heavy car and while it handle's well for a 3800lb car it's handleing abillity's are no where near that of world standards compared to other lighter track cars and supercars.

technically no its not. the reason being is because of the Skyline capabilities for one the skyline is 4wd where as the 'vette is not. skylines are not known for EVER losing to a 'Vette. UNLESS the skyline is made in America like the '09 version. only reason it might not be able to beat a 'vette is because american dealerships like to put govenors on everyones engines so that the cops can catch you. only car that can beat a skyline is a 911 carrera. keep in mind the skyline is AWD.

you spent extra money granted 19 pounds isnt much but try getting the limiter off in america. haaaa good luck finding a person for one cheap enough to remove it for you. the skyline R34 is $100,000 with the limiter installed. i can go to japan and get the car for much less with no limiter. japan, germany, and other countries dont require you to have a limiter installed in the car. think about it. germany has the autobahn or however you spell it. i mean the R34 was even banned from the U.S.
Jap cars ARE factory limited to 180kph and i can get ANY Skyline delimited here r32's are about £90 something about the speed sensor is on the gear box R33 free cut a wire or £19 for a chip R34 well ive seen a vspec for $72k usd thats no where near $100K AND ITS NOT GOING TO COST $28K to fit a chip but im sure you could find somebody to install a Apexi rms and that would delimit it trust me or try Jap Auto spares they sell a chip for £35 for the R34 infact most cars.
i pretty sure i could get one without a limiter. granted i do have people as well that wont charge me to remove it if they do. i guess its all about who you know in this world. and trust me there is a V-Spec 3 for $100k in California. and i know i can get one in japan a lot less then that or even $72k just go to Japan obtain one and get it shipped haaaa i wont say to much i dont want to get myself in trouble

my brother has a 2002 vette and it gets 29.5 mpg, my friend has an 85 and it gets 25-26. They are built by great engineers who think of these things. #1 they are very lightweight(3300 lbs for the new Z06) #2 the rear end they chose makes the car turn low rps on the interstate so just because the motor is large they don't use much power to go. #3 not to mention the drag coefficient is one of the lowest, not to mention it is probably a very efficient motor.
yeah it may have beat the z06, but you are talking about $30,000 more than a Z06. The ZR1 costs that much, how will it do compared to it?? another thing is if you had a Z06 and spent 30,000 in extras(twin turbo and installed with tune approx 20,000, and either heads/cam or nitrous would be the other 10 grand, imagine how fast the Z06 would be

G forces arent just gravitational pull G forces are gravitational down force and grip the more G force you generate the better your car handle s a corner and the zr1 pulls way more cornering G so it handle s better and the zr1 isnt just good on a drag strip the zr1 is good at evrything especially handleing i will tell you that handleing is the zr1 s biggest strength the zr1 changes direction alot faster than the gt-r want evidence motortrend recorded it going through the salom quicker.

technically no its not. the reason being is because of the Skyline capabilities for one the skyline is 4wd where as the 'vette is not. skylines are not known for EVER losing to a 'Vette. UNLESS the skyline is made in America like the '09 version. only reason it might not be able to beat a 'vette is because american dealerships like to put govenors on everyones engines so that the cops can catch you. only car that can beat a skyline is a 911 carrera. keep in mind the skyline is AWD.

im being 100% honest with you. if you want the skyline buy it in a different country. america is the only country that puts a govenor in their cars. even the united kingdom dont put govs in their cars. aston martins are a fine example of that. or better yet go to japan have a friend thats in the military then buy the skyline get it shipped for a small amount or even for free. then you can have the car cheaper then america and without all the restrictions.

What are you talking about even Jap cars are limited. My skyline was a jap import limited too 180 kph thats an R33 gtst. and for a few quid you can get most delimited anyway cost my £19 and that also converted it to read mph too some other cars/models may vary

you spent extra money granted 19 pounds isnt much but try getting the limiter off in america. haaaa good luck finding a person for one cheap enough to remove it for you. the skyline R34 is $100,000 with the limiter installed. i can go to japan and get the car for much less with no limiter. japan, germany, and other countries dont require you to have a limiter installed in the car. think about it. germany has the autobahn or however you spell it. i mean the R34 was even banned from the U.S.

Jap cars ARE factory limited to 180kph and i can get ANY Skyline delimited here r32's are about £90 something about the speed sensor is on the gear box R33 free cut a wire or £19 for a chip R34 well ive seen a vspec for $72k usd thats no where near $100K AND ITS NOT GOING TO COST $28K to fit a chip but im sure you could find somebody to install a Apexi rms and that would delimit it trust me or try Jap Auto spares they sell a chip for £35 for the R34 infact most cars.

Okay... I don't understand what the purpose of saying that chevy made the ZR1 to beat the GTR because the zr1 was in development before the GTR came out. Chevrolet just used the GTR as a benchmark for the ZR1 in recognition that it would be a outstanding car, not because they desperately wanted a car to beat it... which is what I hear so many people saying was the sole purpose of the ZR1. Chevrolet built the ZR1 to beat the Ferrari 599 and the Porsche GTR

um camaro took an 8 year break challenger took almost 30years off and mustang well everyone and their dog has a mustang.Lets look at the motors. one (except for SVT tuning) is a 3 valve v8 with under 100hp/L one is a monster with almost 160hp/l.One just got IRS this model run. The other has had AWD and an advanced suspension its whole life.One is an Icon for the 45+ crowd the other is an Icon for the rest of the world.

Yes, it is expensive but not THAT expensive as many supercars reserved for the richest.

my brother has a 2002 vette and it gets 29.5 mpg, my friend has an 85 and it gets 25-26. They are built by great engineers who think of these things. #1 they are very lightweight(3300 lbs for the new Z06) #2 the rear end they chose makes the car turn low rps on the interstate so just because the motor is large they don't use much power to go. #3 not to mention the drag coefficient is one of the lowest, not to mention it is probably a very efficient motor.

yeah it may have beat the z06, but you are talking about $30,000 more than a Z06. The ZR1 costs that much, how will it do compared to it?? another thing is if you had a Z06 and spent 30,000 in extras(twin turbo and installed with tune approx 20,000, and either heads/cam or nitrous would be the other 10 grand, imagine how fast the Z06 would be
