  • wow

  • Ok that's just crazy.

  • The title is misleading. There is a SECOND boss loop that must be no-missed to complete. No lives, no free hyper, and Dual Hibachi at full strength. Godspeed.

  • @aeriescannonfodder Thank you for saving my time good sir.

  • holy fuck...

  • @ElxMexican: Doing Xu Fu's dimension just hiding at the bottom is ez, I know. Even Honest mans death is more difficult. But thats like a backdoor. Doing it properly without that is rather hard, Id say.

Hibachis 1:10 Attack is nearly the same as Kaguyas 183 -Half Past 2-

Hibachis 1:50 was difficult, I confess but I found Yukaris Card 222 (Last Word) more difficult in the end =/

  • @Arcanedx I sincerely doubt you've actually played this. I have played both this and Touhou, and can tell you firsthand that nothing in Touhou can compare. This isn't even the hardest version of the boss.

Regardless, anyone mildly skilled at shmups can see that this is harder, without even having to play them both. Yukari's Last Word, especially, is mostly memorization.

  • Nice. But I believe, Fujiwara no Mokou from Touhou 8 Extra Stage is harder. Hibachi may have single unfair patterns but those are rather short in comparison to Fujiwara's 1-2 Minute long cruel killer patterns (like the Deathless "Xu Fu's Dimension" Pattern [That swatiska like thing])

  • @Arcanedx Mokou is extremely easy once you actually learn how to take on each spellcard. Xu Fu's Dimension simply requires you to stay at the bottom of the screen and only worry about the bullets coming from underneath you. If you face Hibachi, you'll realize that it's completely utterly difficult. Coming from a guy who can defeat Mokou nearly perfectly... and used numerous continues on Hibachi alone.

  • @Arcanedx Kefit perfected IN extra using Alice solo. I don't think that anyone has ever come close to perfecting Hibachi, especially the "washing machine" attack at the end, despite there being many Japanese players better than Kefit.

  • in 200 years when the insects take over Earth I hope Japanese people are still around

  • where do i download this game at

  • @rey783 You can buy it for the PS2, but you need a NTSC-J PS2 or a mod chip. Called Dodonpachi Daioujou.

  • @OyVeey

...or a set of swap discs which are insanely cheap and easy to find.

  • smaller doesnt necessarily mean less dangerous. hibachi gives a new meaning to size doesnt matter. oh btw. BEEEEEEEEEEES

  • that looks insane neva tried a cave game, i wonder how long it will take me to master those speedy bullets hmmmm

  • @masterturk11 pro japanese players took roughly 9 months to fully clear the game.

In danmakus, clear = beat the game with a single credit

  • whats up with cave and these insane shooting games lol

  • Definitely a hard boss, though only the last phase is the reason why..

Clocked in a week's worth playing this on PCSX2 (don't got a JP/modded PS2), and this is the only bugger (haha, see what I did there?!) that I can't beat.

....maybe I should complain about my stick like the guys in the SHMUP forums (because, y'know, a Seimetsu stick is going to make you "competitive"). BS.

  • @Narmo23 "maybe I should complain about my stick" that made me lol

  • What kind of equipment do you use?

I'm slowly getting used to my Sanwa stick...

  • Competitive SHMUP gaming? How does that work? I don't see any 2-player VS. It's not like you have to memorize specific inputs on a seimitsu stick to do a %40 damage combo.

  • @PsychoJosh

My score is bigger than yours.

  • @Sasupoika2 Are there tournaments for this sort of thing? I don't think so.

I don't get you SHMUP players. I'm a fighting game player and don't see why you need seimitsus or happs for anything.

  • @PsychoJosh there are tournements for stg's alot of high score tourneys and ones for vs shooters and you need better stick parts for these games cos a lot of them have insane bullet paterns that need very presice doging to get through

  • to solve any confusion: this is dodonpachi dai-ou-jou death label - a boss-only extra mode for the japanese ps2 version of dodonpachi dai-ou-jou =) excellent replay, especially the dodge at 1:21 never seen it done that way before =)

  • leave it to japan to come up with the crazy insane shooters......

  • Wow, what a plethora of negative comments. What, some danmaku-haters at work? :D

  • Hyperperfect numbers have a logic behind them, so it's easy to remember them all.

  • hmmmmmm.... No.

  • Where can you get this game??^^

  • it should be an arcade game, i'd say to get MAME, and look around for it.

  • my friend has this. It is from Japan and it is called Dondonpachi Black Label Extra or something like that. It will only work on a Japanese Xbox360. There also a version on PS2 but I don't know if it works on a US ps2 or Japanese ps2. My friend ordered from a site called play-asia or something like that.

  • It is not for Mame yet.

There IS Xbox 360 and Ps2 versions, but they are region-locked ( Meaning they can be only played on Japanese version of the console. )

This is also for arcade, but PCB is cost 400$ something.

  • The dodging in the last few seconds is totally insane, I wonder how much of that was luck and how much of that was actual sightread.

  • @evrain64

It's Stage 1-5 in DDP Death Label which is included only with the PS2-port of the game. Black Label is just a remix of the regular DOJ that has more hypers and some other changes (there is a recent 360 port).

There still comes a second loop though. While you get one life for one defeated boss up to 1-5, there are no more bonuses in the second boss rush loop; no 5 hypers at the beginning as well.

  • Thanks for the corrections! As undying as my love for danmaku's and CAVE games is, it is becoming gradually impossible to follow all the revisions IKD-san comes up with.

    Megablacklabel. Enough Said.

  • Madness. O_O

  • awesome

  • nice and awesome!!!!!

  • that is not possible

  • now imagine a pilot in real life dodging that so many bullets... it would be freakin impossible

  • we would just fly under them

    =)

  • But Hibachi mostly targets player with her patterns. Expect for the last one, but I suspect that would send bullets to every possible direction.

  • Isn't this the replay that was done with a programmable controller?

  • No, that one was far different. Search for "dodonpachi habachi" (sic).

  • that last really fast pattern owned.

  • This dodonpachi seems to be an easy one.

  • Keep in mind that was just a boss rush mode; the rank seems to be kept quite low up to the last bosses there.

  • thats what I though when I watched it. it is very hard play it

  • Hibachi seems alot easier than he did in Dodonpachi. Except for that last part.

  • Um...what happened? I'm so confused :(

  • I doubt this is the hardest level...A good portion of that was decently easy. Most of it just LOOKS hard. :p

DDP games make everything look harder than it is. You might have 3,890 bullets flying in your general direction, but there's a place they can't hit, or maybe they're in the form of little bullet walls with holes in them.

The last part looked like it would've been tough, but it was mostly bombed through...

Not that I'm any better, really. It's just never as hard as it looks. :p

  • I'm pretty sure that was exactly as hard as it looked. That is absolutely insane bullet speed for patterns like that.

  • I wonder if this is the game's highest difficulty level. If this is not, then how hard is the hardest difficulty level?

  • The run was probably taken from the "Black Label" version: you may recognise it because you fight two "Flame Cores", the small fire bee Hibachi releases upon destruction of the main body; in the regular version, there is a single one and it's a tad easier. So yes, this is pretty much the hardest difficulty.

It's insane: I think only Spiritual Larisa from Mushihimesama Futari Black Label in Ultra Mode beats it.

  • no ultra in futari bl

  • Kily I truly hope this is your game play and not the computer stick that I have heard so much about.. If this is your insane play than YOU FREAKING ROCK MAN...

  • This guy is japanese, right?

  • does it matter?

  • what the hell was that? my jaw is literally dropped.
