There are many people in Britain who are descendants of those conquerors.

the vehicles are called vikings... and they are made in Sweden, which may explain the name. :P

Have'nt they just completed some upgrades to the viking specifically regarding improving top cover protection?. I think there is some information about it on the M.O.D website now.
