Please let me bother you with a question. I wish to learn to compose like you do. I dont know a thing about music so it is safe to assume to start from basic music theory. But what after that? Please break it down in stages for me. Thanks!
Music theory only goes so far although it'll compliment and improve your music a great deal... The best approach is being practical and productive, try to emulate other style as well as incorporate your own touch to your compositions.
And I've always wanted to request... I think you should do a Charlie Clouser inspired piece. Like that whole psycho mayhem kinda music. Like Marilyn Manson's Resident Evil theme song composition.
@SteveMLloyd i feel like you have made the double bass so loud that if you turn up the volume of your other instruments its gonna cause distortion. turn the double bass down, boost your high strings and in the beginning there is a base slap or something like that (you can tell i know my instruments !). turn that up too. other than this volume problem this is a great piece.
@darioushs I master all my music in 24 CBR. "174.KHZ" Pro-tools HD.Theater quality. Its not the mix or the mastering that is distorting its your speakers unfortunately.
@SteveMLloyd no no. i don't hear any distortion. I'm saying that i thought you didnt make the high strings louder because they would cause distortion if you turn them up.
hehe if you really wanna know what i mean it would be a good idea to chat on ym or something.
awesome...only thing i would say is add some horns to thicken it up and a nice big punchy horn at the end as well on top of the double bass a bit like inception style at i think you have a awesome mix :)
@dnjproductions2009 you know i actually thought about putting horns in there, but i wanted to have a string only piece, ive never done that before. I think adding horns would kill the song! Thanks so much for the comment!
Fantastic!
