  • what size injectors did you have 60hp?

  • Hell yeah. I have a 96 manual powerstroke 4 dr short bed. I love it, rare truck to come by

  • Dude, This is a badass truck. I have a 97 7.3 almost identical. I was wondering what size lift you have and tire size? Very nice truck

  • What size lift is that

  • naw i ended up getting a 2002 duramax and just yesterday put efi live on it .it pulls my mud truck pretty good for it to be ifs

  • i have a 1997 ford powerstroke with an edge intake and 4 inch excaust..but it misses when your trying to spool, were thinking because its time for a new fuel filter..maybe a lack of fuel because of the old fuel filter..what do yall think, could be an injector or 2 is bad

  • I'm getting a 95 f350 4x4 crew cab tomorrow. I cant wait! its got 35s, its a 5 speed with a 7.3! it cant get more bad ass then that!

  • are you willing to sell this truck?

  • dream truck! i have a 99 that i would sell in a heart beat if i found a 97 4dr short bed. i dont kno wat it is but i just love the body of the short bed

  • Yea, those look soooo good, id fuck rosey O Donald for that trucl...

  • @BradB62 so would I

  • Thats a rare truck. Very nice.

  • What is major difference between the 1997 7.3L power stroke and say 2000-2003 one.

  • a 97 was the year they put the marine grade motor in all there trucks ..this was also the only year they did this. It was a result of a surplus of motors they had built for a marine application

  • The "Generation 2" 7.3L have different injectors, a different turbo with a wastegate, an intercooler, bigger intake manifolds, an electric fuel pump instead of mechanical, and i think they have a different high pressure oil pump (HPOP) but not real sure on that one. There are more little differences but i think those are all the major ones.

  • this is a 97 ext cab long wheel base 4x4 with a 7.3

  • hey i am looking at a 97 powerstroke and i need to know if the front end of them are twin traction beam or solid axle

  • f250s 4x4s are TTB, they suck. but if your looking for a 1997 4dr powerstroke shortbed they only came in a f250 but a solid axle is a direct replacement. the TTB is one of the major down falls of the truck, the biggest lift for the front is 6in and if you dont correct the tie rod angles it will road walk really bad. also the TTB is really hard on the leaf spring bushings and shackles, ive had to replace my shackles before because they broke.

  • @2SouthernGarretts any f350 should have a soild axle, twin i beam is junk

  • @2SouthernGarretts Alot of people who buy these trucks do a Dana 60 swap in the front and i have only ever heard good things after that swap. If you get the truck definitely consider doing that if you have the time/money and plan to keep it for awhile

  • @2SouthernGarretts

they come stock with a twin traction

  • thats thing's got some balls. i want it.

  • Best lookin 97 I have seen!

  • very nice truck

  • Hope that's not an automatic tranny. Diesels and autos do not mix.

  • How do you figure?

  • autos are the best trannies for performance diesels. manuals shift to slow. i would rather have a auto in my truck than my 5 speed cause how slow they take off compared to autos

  • I forgot. People don't use trucks for work on the farm anymore. They take them to the 1/4 mile and race them. I have owned many trucks in my life and I quit buying trucks with auto's many years ago. I am not too concerned about quick shifts or winning races. I still use my truck for what trucks were designed for. LOL

  • i have a manual and tow all the time and still wish i got a manual. especialy when i go on long trips it really is earier to have an auto and they can hold up the same as manuals. thats why in 2011 none of the diesels will have sticks(ford, dodge, chevy)

  • "thats why in 2011 none of the diesels will have sticks(ford, dodge, chevy)" wtf you talking about? GM is the only one that doesnt offer manuals. i wanna see sources

  • diesel powermag and on dodge and ford

  • same diesel powermag that said the big three would have diesels in the half tons in 2010... then they changed it to 2011... now they say not at all?...

  • oh and no, autos dont hold up as well as manuals.

  • as far as i know dodge will still offer a manual option. ford and GM are the only ones who dropped the stick

  • ford didnt drop the stick

  • You are correct for 2010 Dodge is the only one who offers a 6 spd manual. Ford and Chevy are using 6 speed autos.

  • Well, standard are better for pulling than shifting like a car.

  • damn nice truck.. im wantin the injectors for mine bad now

  • sweet truck man, i got a 97 powerstroke, done a lil work to, beat a few cumaparts

  • thats bad ass dude... my favorite year!

  • hey bud im on my gfs acount im lookin at gettin my old mans 94 f350 crew 4x4 its not the power stroke tho it s mechanical any idea how to get it past the 180hp mark like think it would be very difficult to swap out with a 96 or 97 powerstroke like my old mans doin another one right now and hes dropin in a 300 hp cummins but i no these engines have potential so if you have any ideas let me no what i can do for now with this mechanical 7.3 thanks man appreciat the help

  • what did you do to the engine to make it smoke like that,im guessing injectors, oil pump, and programmer upgrades, right?

  • its has aftermarket turbo, injectors, oil pump, wildman custom burn chip, tweaked fuel regulator, intake also has a built trans and suspension. There's a complete list in one of my other videos, this video might be kinda old.

  • are these style 7.3 mechancal injected or electric?!

  • electronic...mechanical was back before the powerstroke. single shot HEUI- (Hydraulic, Electronic, Unit Injectors) and HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump

1994 when the Powerstrokes came out. They had an option on the 7.3 Turbo (non Powerstroke) or 7.3 Powerstroke that year. For the record, you DON'T want a '94 Stroke. That was a new thing with many issues, and well ahead of its time.

  • so a 99-2002 would be the best?

  • Actually you don't want a '99 weak HPOP. The '00 and early '01s were the best 7.3 Strokes of that era. The early '02s were good but the lates weren't as good. They started throwing in cheaper products in the block b/c they knew they were going to the 6.0

I honestly would say the '96 or '97 were the best Powerstrokes all around. They're near bullet proof on dependability

  • okay i like the looks of that era also. thanks!

  • i had a 2000... beat the hell outta that motor and it just shrugged off everything i threw at it like it was nothin... got a couple vids of it on here

  • my parents have a 2002 crew cab long box 7.3L turbo powerstroke 4X4 and it sits high and its stock its a f250 too it sits high...you'd think it'd have a 4inch lift but its stock an not a dually either....but it pulls good its a good truck

  • my dad has a 93 F-350 extended cab 1 ton dually with the 7.3 diesel, its not the powerstroke but it has an aftermarket turbo dual fuel tanks.. straight piped exhaust and 2wd. family friends have 97 F350 crew cab 4x4 powerstroke turbo diesel 7.3 . its got a 6 inch suspension lift and a 2-3 inch bodylift, straight piped exhaust, chipped, sitting on a set of 35 inch mud terrains.

  • the 7.3L diesel in the fords are the powerstrokes...all the 7.3's are unless its a 6.9L

  • There where three different engine options from Ford with 7.3 displacement. 88-94 you could get the NA IDI, 93-94 you could get the Turbo IDI, and 94-02 Direct Injection/Powerstroke

  • yes yes true enough i forgot about that..lol...they are still a powerstroke thou...an the best diesel that ford put in their trucks

  • achally ford had a 7.3 that wasent a powerstroke

  • wat year was that in

  • no thair is a 7.3 power stroke and a 7,3 idi

  • ya i know that the only diesel that isnt the powerstroke is the 6.9 and the new diesel they make now a days

  • From 88 to 94 the diesel engine offered by Ford was the IDI(InDirect Injection) and was offered with a turbo from ATS during 93 and 94. 94.5 was the introduction of the Powerstroke, but it wasn't called that untill 95, the first ones where just called Direct Injection and could only be had with a 5 speed manual because the computers couldn't run the auto trans at the time of the release.

  • oh i see.....the 95's are the first powerstrokes then...my buddy has a 95 with a stick turboed....i like standards better then auto's

  • No, there not you must be a dodge guy because you have no idea what your talkin about. The 7.3's were not powerstrokes till 95 when they added all the computerized and electrical shit into the engine. Then in 99 they added an intercooler and somethin else cant remember what else it was.

  • dont wanna start a big argument with you but i own a 1994 ford powerstroke

  • yeah half way through 94 they started putting the first powerstroke engine into the 92-97 body style truck

  • No if you own a 1994, you own a ford 7.3 idi turbo diesel. Big difference buddy. That or it could be a 1994.5

  • ya 1994/ 1994.5 no different to me really. i just say its a 94 and everyone knows its the first powerstroke year.

  • you dodge guys make me laugh with all your dodge rules shit. its just too bad cummins is an independant company and in 2011 ford has a deal with them so kiss your cummins good bye. Id still rather be gettin stroked then rammed

  • Sweet ass truck!!!!

  • No, surely U mean your a JOKE!!!! LMAO xD Get the fuck off Ford videos Dodge nutswinger!!!!

  • nice, i took off the cat and the muffler, i wanna put straight pipe out the side?? then what??

  • damn nice powerstroke, i got one the same year with a 5spd, jus dropped it off at antrim diesel today for stage 2 80hp injectors, hope they get it done tomorrow

  • I'm definately getting one of these next.

  • hi, i just got a 97 powerstroke, what should i do first for performance??

  • man first thing on that truck is to get a down pipe and take the cat out then go frome that point.

  • how much were the injectors

  • pretty expensive for a ford. 2 grand maybe

  • awesome sound dude

  • HOLY HELL! Ok that makes me pumped up about my ford again lol.

  • IM READY FOR YOUR DODGE BUDDY.

  • Lol your gonna have to wait a couple weeks lift pump went out on it. Im getting either a fass or glacier.
