I beat him with Hero at lvl 70. It takes time, just be prepared...lots of healing items...and having at least 2 Trembles helps. Jessica was only lvl 66 and I was sweating it out...but we did it. Just have fun with it.

Speaking of overleveled, I managed to get all of my character to level 99 with some leftover points put into fisticuffs. So I suddenly decided to do a fisticuffs only with all of the characters and I never died once throughout the entire trial because, apparently, you take less damage when you don't have weapons equipped than when you do... what sense does that make?! Then again, this is one of the Dragonquest series... what with all the weird ass monsters and all.

correct, darksteel is the hardest one.

And statistically speaking, darksteel would own ultimate if they fought vs each other, cause darksteel requires strategy, while monsters use brute force. You don't need nearly as much strategy vs ultimate, plus ultimate only attacks twice per turn

There is no such thing as a required lowest level, but I would think you need to be in the mid 30s at least.

to do all 7 dragons at once you need to be around .. 53+?

all singular dragons can be done at around lvl 45.

Definitely gear/skill is more important than levels. I beat everything up to darksteel at level 35-37, then I leveled up Jessica to level 38 and beat everything else. Level 38 is the earliest point you could get kazing with Jessica, having 2 reviver is necessary at low levels. I was using revival leaves before, but ran out when I got to darksteel. I'd say Jessica is the only character that level matters. Everyone else can be on any level as long as they can survive one attack from the dragons.

By the time I had looted dragovian dungeuns and got the other slime crown I needed from a KMS i was around lvl 45 ..

But too the jessica being the only important leveler? If Hero is your max hitter in these fights with Dragon Slayer should you have him a bit higher? :S

My Hero rarely attacks, he is my only healer with omniheal, nothing else heals enough to be worth using imo. I didn't have dragon slash either lol, because I don't find swords useful. Jessica is definitely the best hitter, she can easily do 1.5x the damage of any other character until you get dragon soul.

at my current levels a no psyched falcon slash with dragon slayer does around 400 on most dragons (excluding darksteel) and twin dragon lash with gringham whip does around 320?

yea im not extremely new but i bought dragon quest a year(more or less) ago but i never got around to finishing it. now after watching al these videos it sparked my interest but now i totally forgot how to do EVERYTHING. What I like to do is have one skill point per level into a character's bottom most skill (courage, sex appeal, etc.) and then max it out once I get my primary weapon skill maxed. I dunno if this makes any sense or not. With Hero I always went with Swords, Yangus I went sycthes and Axe until he learned hatchet man attack.Jessica went whip and angelo went bows. Thats how I'd do it but yeah, people would argue it.

It depends on what you want in a character my main skills are. Hero: Swords Yangus: Axes Jessica: Staves Angelo: Bows I recomemend that combo and when you can't raise them no more train up their special skills Hero: Courage Yangus: Humanity Angelo: Charisma For Jessica train Whips and Sex appeal at the same time but make sure you put more into whips than Sex appeal. Tip: Make sure enemies can stare at Jessica in admiration before fighting captain crow. he is suspectable to it

Nah no cheats. It takes a crapload of time but if you got patience you can get ruinous shields from Hells Gatekeepers in the heavenly Dais and you can get Orihalcums from Pandora's Boxes or King Metal Slimes. It's possible but like I said, takes forever.

Well The Scourage whip is cursed but it's got a high attack power. If possible try to buy the Gringham whip from the Baccarat Casino. As for training, I recommend going to the Dragon Graveyard where you can fight 2 Metal King slimes at once. It helps if you Yangus' Hatchet man man (or the evolved version of it) weapon skill and the Hero has an Uber Falcon Blade. If you're a huge DQ fan you should to my channel and check my Group, I'm part of DQ group who knows alot about the series and whatnot.

If you train hero lances up high enough you get thunder thrust which is more inaccurate than executioner but does the same thing.

The Dragon Graveyard? I've always preferred Howlwind Hill. It has only monsters of the slime family, including metal ones. Metal Slimes, Liquid Metal Slimes, and Metal King Slimes Galore!

You get that same group with the two Metal King Slimes as well, but there's one that is even better where there is one Metal King Slime, but six Liquid Metal Slimes as well. I've gotten that grouping and killed them all, it gives an insane amount of EXP. It's way better than the Dragon Graveyard to be honest

There is still a bazaar when you re-enter Argonia go towards King Pavious's castle, and as if you were going to the castle go to the left, there you'll see a building that resembles a church I hope this helped :)
