Bhairavi was created by Shivji! he is also have been celebrated to have made the veena which later became sitar when Parvati ji was asleep with her arm across her breasts and wearing bangles which tinkled and created musical notes when she was breathing peacefully in her deep sleep and shivji was watching her and he created the veena with 2 large spheres and a bridge carrying 7 strings to produce the musical notes! That is the origin of Rudra veena!
Brings back the days of innocence, simplicity and joy. Away from the hevocs of so-called modern film industry's plastic and silicone filled, jumping hero's and heroine's.
The transformation is really incredible. Another example of "importing" bhairavi is "dharati kahe pukarake" from Do Bigha Jamin, which is an adsaptatioin of a Russian marching song.
what an amazing transformation from arabic chanteuse to raag bhairavi. lata and shankar jaikishen brought so much melody, life into this tune..the tune may be lifted. but please remember raag bhairavi has deeper roots and need not be influenced. its pure
please please mirza jee dont let any body write that indian music or spacially our rags are borrowed from arab music aur any other cultures let me write some excellent compositions in rag bhairvi 1 dil bhi ter llata jee 2kahan tak jafa hussan wlo ki mukesh jee 3bare dhit nikle hai dil lenewwale sehgal sahib and an excellent gulamalisahib bai ja mere kol tenu takda rava
I AM CONVINCED THE BHAIRAVI RAAGH IS BASED ON THE MOTHER'S SOOTHING VOICE AND COMBINED WITH THE KEHERWA TAAL ( THE MOTHERS HEARTBEAT AND THIS COMBINATION GIVES EVERLASTING BIRTHS TO MUSIC THAT IS MANNA TO THE SOUL
I could not believe my ears what i was hearing, but WOW, what a wonderful research. we are greatful to you. Regardless, AWARAA Hoon was the best song og its time.
@atulmina this original songs in arabic and shannker jaikishan yused in awara 1951 and orignal songs don in 1937 shanker jaikishan start from awara in 51 omar abdulla
Great work and the scholarly side, Mirza ji. How can we ever thank you enough! My heart flutters when Lata takes the high note with "..mittane na doongi ye pyar je tarane'.. " in the Basant Bahar song.
The picture at 3.31 is a practice session for Jis Desh Mein song- hum bhi hey tum bhi ho aamne samne which had many singers like MUKESH,LATA,MANNADEY,GEETA DUTT and MAHENDRA KAPOOR.
Wah,Mirzaji! So many of my favs in one package, accompanied by some rare photos too. No wonder I think of raag bhairavi as the prettiest of them all. Glad to learn of the Arab roots of Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi. Dattaram, an assistant to S-J then, once told in an interview how they procured the unforgettable dholak player for that song and recorded it late at night. Suhanegeet has posted the interview. Thank you.
Thank you for taking effort of compiling these jewels for us. It is my favourite Raag.
God bless :)
