NDEs are actually REM intrusions triggered in the brain by traumatic events like cardiac arrest.
How can people can experience sights and sounds after confirmed brain death? The area where REM intrusion is triggered is found in the brain stem (the region that controls the most basic functions of the body) and it can operate virtually independent from the higher brain.

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." God's holiness (His nature) requires the absence of sin. Without pardon nobody gets heaven. Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (you addressed several good points ineedmoreroom! :) Keep asking the good questions!

(read "My descent into Death") Christians are not the only ones that believe there is a hell. Muslims and Jews believe there is a hell as well. You can't expect that there is only a heaven. @UndergroundWorms I did DMT and "broke through the threshold" as they say. It by far was the most spiritual experience I have ever had in my life. It was very close to a lot of the NDE stories. I traveled through a tunnel, felt an all powerful presence and knew it wanted to enlighten me, Had a feeling of absolute calm and safety, and indescribably intense Visuals. I was literally taken and shown almost all of the ancient civilizations. Not ruins, I was there in their prime. Too incredible.

I think we all have an innate desire for a God that is totally Love, and accepting and forgiving even if your religion does not allow for one. Perhaps allowing room for that Absolute God in your heart allows you to meet that God.
One personal experience may not be evidence but when there are hundreds and thousands, and there is a pattern and a common denominator, it's worth thinking about. It's surprising that many people's NDEs are totally different from their religious expectations. Many expected to go to heaven but didn't.

One should understand that the Universe is not an actual physical place, but rather a mental perception created by the five senses. The physical brain can only be verified to exist within those 5 senses. Life is not coming from the brain. All is spirit. We use this body as a machine. God will not judge people. They have to judge themselves. All the pain they caused another here, they will have to feel that pain until they are pure of heart and until that happens this will happen over and over again.
NDEs and OBEs are natural phenomenon explained by chemical reactions in our physiology. The interesting thing about them is the people who have them, only see the religious figure of their culture/religion. An interesting phenomenon, but nothing to go to church over.

Having overdosed on medication and alcohol, I had a near death experience. It was a real out of body experience where you feel yourself lifted out of your body. From what I can remember, the afterlife was peaceful, but I didn't have a chance to explore before I was brought back to life through resuscitation. I'm still an agnostic. Seems the logical choice.

I traveled through a tunnel, felt an all powerful presence and knew it wanted to enlighten me, Had a feeling of absolute calm and safety, and indescribably intense Visuals. Having overdosed on medication and alcohol, I had a near death experience. It was a real out of body experience where you feel yourself lifted out of your body. From what I can remember, the afterlife was peaceful, but I didn't have a chance to explore before I was brought back to life through resuscitation. I'm still an agnostic. Seems the logical choice.

If you choose to NOT BELIEVE the Bible, then all the teachings within it, including hell, shouldn't matter to you.
It IS a choice. But in the end, there is only one right one.
