@ubizmo Wow cool. It definatly shows, I played recorder when I was about 4 or 5 or so. I played Piano,a nd still do, with organ now, for 9 or so years. I've just started on Ocarina last week, last Wednesday to be exact.

@THEFINALHAZARD You'll find you can do a lot more interesting things, like note bending, with the ocarina than you can easily do with a recorder.

@THEFINALHAZARD That's when you change the pitch of a note gradually, fading from one pitch to another. It's continuous, instead of discontinuous. Note bending on a recorder is difficult, but possible. It's just about impossible on a standard flute, although an open-hole flute makes it a bit more doable. On an ocarina, it's pretty easy, although it takes practice to control it.

Thank you for the kind words. I don't think you sound awful, but all wind players, at every level, can benefit from the Whole Note Drill. It teaches you to get clear, steady, sound.

I'm glad you like them. I pretty much always have the MO with me, so I get to practice for short intervals all through the day. If I think of or hear a song that I think might work, I put a note in my Blackberry to check it out later.
