Actually, another 2007 poll showed even stronger disapproval toward the LDS Church, with 39% holding an unfavorable view and only 27% holding a favorable view (more respondents did not have an opinion in this poll).
Just among Republicans, 48% hold unfavorable views of Mormonism (vs. 28% holding favorable views).

Looks like people are becoming better informed. Don't suppose you could get a comparison from about 30 years ago iqlusion for comparison? That is more favorable than I expected specially for the US
