The only reason that different butters are yellow or white, depends soley on the season that it is picked from the Shea Nut.. And the method of extraction... So either way, as long as its 100% pure and organic... you are fine. You want to use unrefined raw for your body for best results..

i love coastal scents, the first natural/unrefined shea butter i had (along with some great micas for makeup) came from them. they also have an arrangement to provide healthcare for the villagers who make it for them. pretty good deal. ^_^

As we would when shopping for most things, try BOTH and see how you like them. Kpangya has a powdery-dry-silky feel on the skin/hair that you may prefer to Shea. You may like both and useone for skin and the other for hair. Be careful of buying a DYED YELLOW shea butter if what you intended to buy was Kpangya instead. I hear some merchants do that because the yellow sells better because we are THINKING erroneously that the yellow color means AUTHENTIC REAL THING. It is if Kpangya. End fight?

Afseller, and all merchants, would do well to just tell the truth, or do the research if you really aren't aware that the yellow butter IS NOT shea butter. The yellow butter that we get in korean and african beauty supply stores is actually Kpangna Butter, equally, if not more beneficial to skin/hair. Honest sites sell both shea and kpangna separately for same price or a little more for the Kpangya. Shea Nut tree is grown in desert climate, and Kpangya in the rainforests/riverbanks. Google it.

@marcus23332333 I have tried Butters n Bars and they have pretty good Shea Butter but Coastal Scents Shea Butter seems fresher. I also ordered some wonderful Shea butter from New Directions Aromatics. Great Prices and wonderful Shea Butter from both Ghanna and Burkina Faso. Any of these companies are great!!

@nunaavane I love it, I use the refined palm oil. I use on my skin you know and everywhere else. It has great healing properties. I really only use it when I flat iron my hair straight, and I don't straighten it often, maybe once or twice a year. But its light and my hair absorbs it well, lots of shine and soft. I have tried so many times to get on the shea butter track but it just doesn't agree with me. I buy the palm oil maybe once every 2 years, a lb 16oz lasts me that long.

@nunaavane lol, remember its the "refined" palm oil. I can't remember where I ordered it last, but it was like 5.00 for a 16 oz jar. Not bad right. And see I have tried all kinds of shea butter some where so thick I couldnt even wait for it to melt, and I have tried this stuff Cantu that has gets many raves, it does makes my hair wave right up but its so hard to wash out and I notice those shea beads or whatever. I want to try the creamy stuff you have lol. Can you send me a tiny sample lol

If you want you can use walnut soap to rid your daughter of ecxzema because my son was born with it and he had it so bad that my husband and i were praying for a healing because we didnt want him to have to deal with that in his life so my mother in law has a dear friend that makes homemade soaps out of natural foods and stuff and she got us a bar of her walnut soap and we bathed him with it until the soap was gone and he no longer has exzcema and he had it bad be blessed
