The closest u will get to MH is Slayer class; big 2 handed swords, roll/dodge for evasion. Far as hvy weapons they r the most mobile. Zerker is Hvy hitter, but slow with charged moves wide swings but tighter aiming. Combat can b complex, diff evasions or counters can be set off depending on situation. ex.: a slayer getting knocked down allows them to do a massive aoe sweep that can cause knock down. Many classes have special evasions. U dont see a Zerker doing so because they Strike n block.

comparing this to monster hunter is fail...its not a hack n slash....there is no clicking in Tera... Evasion styles are based on class and certain skills. Zerkers weapon weight means slow movement; massive hits, they block instead of dodge; unless u manually maneuver. Bosses have weak points which can be exploited depending on class. The game is 100% skill (player) based. No auto targeting, no auto hits, no macros, no clicking skills. (bind only). The pace is this way to allow strategy over spam

@HwarangXia This is just like MH, you combo out skills and evade/block. All the classes can be compared to MH weapons berzerker=switchaxe, warrior=dual blade, slayer= a combination of longsword and greatsword, archer= bow. The two games are allot alike, Tera has more keys to use and an aggro bar.

well gameplay is not that great from what I've seen... In monster hunter you could dodge anticipate enemy attack and then use timing to your advantage... here you still "click" buttons "skill bar anyone?"... and monster doesn't seems to break any parts.. So its not great game but I gotta say best MMO i've seen in years.

I really hope this is a boss...otherwise this is the slowest "action based game" i've ever seen. I do want to try this game eventually, but even if it is a boss, the A.I. looks painfully stupid, and the attacks look too obvious.

The thing it lacks is the realism in how characters respond when hit by a monster. They don't fall down and have to stand up again, as is in Dragon Nest or Vindictus.

@zimerust There are 3 different rankings of mobs.

Normal- The average 10-30 seconds to kill.

Elite- (in video) Can take up to 10 min maybe more depending on your class ans if you're soloing or not.

Boss- Also possible to solo depending on your skill, but it takes a while.

How do you get periodical hp and mp restoration without any buffs or healer around?

@PotterChristopher Each character can use attack/defense crystals. Some can change your crit chance, create a shield that absorbs X damage when knocked down or in this case, the attack crystals restore mp at a set interval and the defensive crystals restore hp. These can be swapped out with other crystals any time when out of combat and can be removed any time in combat (but not put back in). When you die you have a chance to lose crystals. (very low chance you wont)

Yeah, those elites seem to take their time, but they still seemed as slow and dumb as any other mob.

I can see that you might get beaten up hard if you would not dodge all the time etc. But especially this mob could be a bit more agressive and have it's skills coming faster e.g.
