Rock music as we know it today started in the 1950's as a combination of blues and COUNTRY and gospel music. This combination made up Rock because thats what these artists, who all grew up in the same region, listened to. Metal did not come about untill the 60s and 70s. Most all rock music does derive from the blues but to say it was not at all influenced by country is a downright lie.

@058Noble the only reason Carrie is successful is because her voice is amazing and she puts out successful records. Idol stopped being relevant in her career 5 years ago.

The woman has a million female vocalist awards, and she does not look ridiculous on stage lol. she has been voted entertainer of the year twice in a row ( the ONLY female artist ever in country music to have the honor).
Also American idol was 5 years ago! Carrie is only artist who has had fame last so long. and sold 20 million albums. Idol does not give you shit, only 15 minutes of fame.

Yes Carrie kicked his BUTT !! Carrie's vocals are the most powerful in country music and is known to be pitch perfect everytime she sings live. jasons are not as powerful. Yet Taylor is completly oposite of Carrie and yet wins the FVOTY at the CMA'S! Even Miranda can't compete with Carrie and she wins too!

@Epica124 Ok I actually did take a collegate course in the history of Rock n Roll and you are wrong. Rock music as we know it today started in the 1950's as a combination of blues and COUNTRY and gospel music. This combination made up Rock because thats what these artists, who all grew up in the same region, listened to. Metal did not come about untill the 60s and 70s. Most all rock music does derive from the blues but to say it was not at all influenced by country is a downright lie.

People this is a singing concert! Not a dancing show! Would you rather have her dance like those rap stars? Back in the old days of country music, no one danced. They were like as the term states, a singing stick. They just stood in one spot the whole time and sang. And this is the most dancing I have ever seen Carrie do!

And they say that Rock and Metal music do not have any Influence on anything. I under just how many of those countrys singers would love nothing more then to cover Dio's song Holy Diver or a Black Sabbath song. Heck I bet one of them would just love to even cover a song by Megadeth. Rock, Metal, Punk, Blues, have all influenced country music.

Also if you knew anything about Folk music you would know about Folk Rock and Folk Metal. Which again were not started in the USA. @Epica124 Look I'm not going to pretend that I know this stuff like the back of my hand but if you cared to do a little research you would know that Rock music actually started in the US (in the '40s) before it spread to the rest of the world. Country music was around at least 20 years more than rock. Metal didn't evolve until like the 60s. FYI folk music is not specific to any country. Anybody with a little knowledge of musical origins would tell you that country was a source of rock.
