For all those talking about her vocal deterioration and saying its due to drugs. That is partially true but also remember that she smokes AND didnt have the BEST technique back then. She used to belt high Es and Fs and Gs that were almost pure head, she did mix but not to the extent others do which puts tremendous strain on her vocal chords . Add to that the fact that she did huge extended tours during which she belted those high belts every day. She simply overused her voice

Aretha, Beyonce, Mariah, Celine, and JHud all sing crazy and do insane high belts, but their voice doesn't disappear in 15 years. Of course Whitney is one of the best voices of all time, and I'm so grateful she shared 15 years of her voice with the world..but it was drugs that killed her voice.

I take great exception to the statement: Whitneys voice is dead. Her voice Has changed.
That happens with age. The others who are thought of as keeping most of their range scream a
lot of those high notes. Loved "I Look To You". Would have rather she waited on the
tour but think that she learned or was reminded of some things she needs to address: smoking.
She still a singers singer. I dare not predict what she can do: but it isn't over for her not by a longshot. She's like Ella. evolving!

This not even showcasing her operatic and coloratura abilties either which is often downplayed by her immense chest register. She really can do it all from scats, baritone lows, coloratura highs, too mid powerful belts, and earth shattering super high chest belts.

the thing about whitney is....she's exceptionally gorgeous and has an out of this world voice. there's no beating that..to be honest. unless another one just like that pops up...exceptionally beautiful and beyond this world of a singer.

I am just gonna say it...if anyone can sing like Whitney sang from 5:12-6:47 let them step up to the mic right now!! And this Pia girl...please..she cant hold a candle to "the voice". Whitney had this amazing talent to just belt like her life depended on it when she grabbed that mic. If you want to see it for your self take a look(listen) to her live performances. The one you cannot miss is her singing How Will I Know live in 1986...from the 2:30-2:50 is incredible!!
