@cyrilcuevas Seventh-Day Adventists consider this the strongest text in the New Testament for the law. They are constantly quoting it. If this fails, they have no stronger fort. However, a thorough reading of the Scripture in its correct context points out that it teaches no such thing as Seventh-Day Adventism claims.
1. Seventh-Day Adventists themselves admit that Jesus fulfilled and ended what THEY call "ceremonial law". He abolished it at the cross. Well, did he come to destroy that law? Certainly not, and yet he did it away. So, then, it is one thing to destroy a law, and quite another to bring it to a close by fulfilling it. He says he came to fulfill the law.
2. It does not say that every jot and tittle of the law will stand till heaven and earth pass away; but it does say that it will not pass away until it is all fulfilled. This teaches that it would all be fulfilled and pass away sometime. The idea is that sooner would heaven and earth pass away than one letter of the law would fail of being fulfilled. Luke's words make this matter very clear. "It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail," Luke 16:17.
Here we cannot mistake the meaning; the idea is not the length of time the law is to last, but the certainty that it will not fail to be fulfilled. "Fulfilled" is defined thus by Webster: "To fill up, to make full or complete; to accomplish." The Greek word is PLAROSAI and is among other things, "To fulfill, to complete; to bring to a close, end, finish, complete." So Jesus did not come to destroy the law, but to finish it.
At the beginning of his ministry Jesus said he came to fulfill the law. After his resurrection he said: "These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me. Luke 24:44.
And then Paul says: "And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree." Acts 13:29. So it was all fulfilled at the cross. Hence Paul says it was nailed to the cross. Col. 2:14-16. "Christ is the end of the law." Rom. 10:4. "The law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster." Gal. 3:24, 25. What could be plainer than that the law ended at the cross?

Where from Scripture are you able to support he SDA claim that the Sabbath (Saturday Worship) command was given at Creation. It is not in Scripture and like I said to Soldier give us Scripture. He can't because there is none to support it. If there were, SDAs would be able to show us Scripture saying Adam & Eve, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Isaac keeping it. order for us to be saved from the CURSE of the law.. and since we are saved.. how can we show our gratitude to jesus in saving us? that is by keeping his commandments.. we kept his commandments not in order for us to be saved but in order for us to show our love to HIM. Friend nowhere in the Bible does it say Jesus IS the rest. In Matt 11 it states that He GIVES rest. The way in which He gives us rest is by taking His example by being meek and lowly in Heart, basically His character. Thats why the verses then goes on to say THEN you will find rest for your souls. Every Sabbath you keep is a reminder that you can live without sin which is the gospel. The same way Christ spoke and life was created is the same way He can CREATE in us clean Hearts....
Christ never came to do away with His law, simply by the fact that He died instead. He came to fulfill it. Keeping the Sabbath day is the sign that you rest in Him. Anyone can say I rest in Christ yet have go against His law. Thats not rest but cheap grace.

All what you mentioned, you have to look at the life of Jesus as the practical example. Jews today have missed the boat completely because they looked to the law for holiness rather than Christ who can give you holiness and lives holiness in you. Driving, walking, that's not breaking Sabbath.
Also the Sabbaths of the CEREMONIAL law were not even on the 7th day. Those days pointed to the importance of the practices which Christ fulfilled. E.g. Christ is our passover

@Jondadon2006 Yes Jesus is our Passover. Likewise He is our Sabbath Rest. Our Rest is no longer confined to a particular Day, but it is a "state" or "condition" of being. I Rest in Jesus, and that Rest is not dependant upon anything from the outside, it is a Rest within my Soul that no one and nothing can take away. Neither does it change with the days of the week. As long as I abide in Christ, I abide in His Rest, Peace, and Grace.

The Ten Commandments are part of God's moral law. Once a Gentile came to believe in the true God, he was required to keep His commandments, including the Sabbath (Isaiah 56:6). And remember, God blessed the seventh day at creation:
Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made (Genesis 2:3).
@SoldierOfChrist110 The Church says we are no longer under the Law. Our New Covenant is in Christ Jesus, and the heart of the New Covenant is the Holy Eucharist, NOT the Sabbath. The Sabbath is not even mentioned as an obligation for Christians in the entire New Testament. When we go to Church on Sunday, we go to receive the Body and Blood of Jesus, not for any other reason. For a while the Jewish Sabbath (Saturday Worship) and the Lord's Day (Sunday) were observed by the early Christians. It is equally true that as the Gospel spread by Apostles, the Jewish Sabbath disappeared as a salvific requirement while the Lord's Day remained. Hence read Paul's clear writings like Romans 14:1-15:1 and Col 2:13-17 and the entire book of Galatians.

Reading the comments below, I would like to say that if we are saved then we will keep the law and commandments with ever increasing obedience because of the Holy Spirit within us, but we do not keep the law and commandments in order to be saved. We are saved by grace alone, and obedience is thus a fruit of conversion and a means to sanctify us, not to justify us. There have been many times that I have fallen but that only comes down to my lack of faith and my falling into sin doesn't change what the Bible says. When you sin, it comes down to a lack of faith. If I believe God is able to keep me from falling, why didn't I pray about it when I was tempted? Everyday I grow in Christ and I see how much I need Him to live in me because I cannot overcome sin by my self......

2. It does not say that every jot and tittle of the law will stand till heaven and earth pass away; but it does say that it will not pass away until it is all fulfilled. This teaches that it would all be fulfilled and pass away sometime. The idea is that sooner would heaven and earth pass away than one letter of the law would fail of being fulfilled. Luke's words make this matter very clear. "It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail," Luke 16:17.

You quote Isaiah because you believe the Sabbath will be enforced in Heaven so you say it should be practiced it here. If SDAs truly believe that they should also celebrate the New Moon (Jewish Monthly Sabbaths). Where from Scripture are you able to support he SDA claim that the Sabbath (Saturday Worship) command was given at Creation. It is not in Scripture and like I said to Soldier give us Scripture. He can't because there is none to support it. If there were, SDAs would be able to show us Scripture saying Adam & Eve, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Isaac keeping it. Instead Galatians 3:17 rebukes & corrects such teaching saying the law was given at Sinai which is the truth. That teaching is pure Ellen White.

Friend nowhere in the Bible does it say Jesus IS the rest. In Matt 11 it states that He GIVES rest. The way in which He gives us rest is by taking His example by being meek and lowly in Heart, basically His character. Thats why the verses then goes on to say THEN you will find rest for your souls. Every Sabbath you keep is a reminder that you can live without sin which is the gospel. The same way Christ spoke and life was created is the same way He can CREATE in us clean Hearts....

Christ never came to do away with His law, simply by the fact that He died instead. He came to fulfill it. Keeping the Sabbath day is the sign that you rest in Him. Anyone can say I rest in Christ yet have go against His law. Thats not rest but cheap grace.
Love to God and man have always been the foundation of His law. That Sabbath commandment is the sign that states to us that the rest of the 9 can be kept by the indwelling of Christ righteousness. Sabbath should be on our minds at all times

All what you mentioned, you have to look at the life of Jesus as the practical example. Jews today have missed the boat completely because they looked to the law for holiness rather than Christ who can give you holiness and lives holiness in you. Driving, walking, that's not breaking Sabbath.
Also the Sabbaths of the CEREMONIAL law were not even on the 7th day. Those days pointed to the importance of the practices which Christ fulfilled. E.g. Christ is our passover

@Jondadon2006 Yes Jesus is our Passover. Likewise He is our Sabbath Rest. Our Rest is no longer confined to a particular Day, but it is a "state" or "condition" of being. I Rest in Jesus, and that Rest is not dependant upon anything from the outside, it is a Rest within my Soul that no one and nothing can take away. Neither does it change with the days of the week. As long as I abide in Christ, I abide in His Rest, Peace, and Grace.

The Ten Commandments are part of God's moral law. Once a Gentile came to believe in the true God, he was required to keep His commandments, including the Sabbath (Isaiah 56:6). And remember, God blessed the seventh day at creation:

The Sabbath is not even mentioned as an obligation for Christians in the entire New Testament. When we go to Church on Sunday, we go to receive the Body and Blood of Jesus, not for any other reason. For a while the Jewish Sabbath (Saturday Worship) and the Lord's Day (Sunday) were observed by the early Christians. It is equally true that as the Gospel spread by Apostles, the Jewish Sabbath disappeared as a salvific requirement while the Lord's Day remained. Hence read Paul's clear writings like Romans 14:1-15:1 and Col 2:13-17 and the entire book of Galatians.

SDAs cannot point out anywhere from Scripture where anyone else is told to observe the Sabbath. The law containing the Sabbath existed ONLY after Sinai (Gal 3:17), it was told to the Jews (Ex 20:1). Even the first words of the 10C (Ex 20:2) the Preamble to the 10C shows God was talking to the Jews. The 10 Commandments was ONLY part of the law.

I'm a Sabbath keeping Christian, yet I am NOT a member of the SDA. And I agree that the true Sabbath is on Saturday and that's why I keep Saturday day Holy. I love the 10 Commandments and obedience to the Law. HOWEVER, I do not agree with EGW and SDA that we must trust in the Sabbath and 10 Commandments and the Law to avoid the coming Mark of the Beast and to be saved! Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
1. Keep you from falling is to say keep you from sinning
2. Present you faultless means sinless, perfect, unblemished in the context
If all you do is just take words and twist it, you are wasting your own time my friend. You have to listen when people are speaking

You see what you just did? You left out my whole argument because I said it is not I who can be sinless....then you ran with that but you left out the fact I said it is THROUGH CHRIST that we CAN be sinless because when you are dead to sin and alive to Christ, He is the one who does that work.
You don't notice that you are on the premise that we will forever be sinning and that then shows me you don't have the faith that Christ is able to keep you from falling

I did not say that I am sinless. I did not say I can be sinless. I said it is through Christ that we can overcome sin. Not by me but by Christ. That is why those who keep the commandments of God have died to self and allowed CHRIST to live in me

No I don't believe people who keep sunday unknowingly will be lost. Everyone who receives light and refuses light will be lost. I believe there will be loads of people who kept sunday will be in the kingdom because they lived up to what they know. If they had the truth of God, I believe they will reform to obeying His truth

My friend, Sunday keeping came from the pagans. Worship is keeping God's commandments and not just and outward show. Matt 15:9 says in vain do they WORSHIP me (how) teaching for doctrines, the COMMANDMENTS of MEN (worshiping according to man is vain except it is by a thus saith the Lord)

Saturday is the Sabbath day...because it is the last day of the week and we should keep it holy.
And we must labor on 6 six days and after that the Sabbath day (seventh day) we must REST
But still many people keep their Sabbath day in Sunday...

got a Q..i keep asking myself why my family keeps sunday holy..why is everyone arguing sunday or saturday should be kept? both sides say its Biblical.. Prove it for yourselves...i mean really prove it the way the Bible teaches. don't forget who wants us to keep arguing who's right or wrong.

Very good point. What I do is leave the clear passages of scripture and leave people with the conviction because it is not me who can change a person or convert, it is the Holy Spirit that does this.

@Cherubaby please forgive me, but i never said Sunday is Biblical... I presume you misread my comment. My family worships on Sunday... i don't. I did question the Sabbath issue...and im more convinced now than ever why i worship on Sabbath.

@Cherubaby in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth in 6 days...after that he rested in the SEVENTH DAY...seventh day is Saturday...and Saturday is the SABBATH DAY...if I'm mistaken....tell my why we should rest on Sunday...but if I'm right ask me if you want :)

@lyra12padua I think you have misread my post. You should NOT rest on Sunday. I said you should rest on the Sabbath, Saturday. I rest on Saturdays, GOD's Sabbath, NOT on Sunday which is an ordinary work day.

Saturday Sabbath keeping people. If you really search, you can find that 1300 yrs after Christ, all over the world people kept the Sabbath Day. Even the Buddist munks, and Muslums kept it. The Catholic church its self
admitts it change the sabbath, to show their authority. And all the western churches to this day, follow her example. Sad really.

@Daisy2183 No, Saturday was the true sabbath. The roman church changed it, aka, they changed times and laws. Christ warned of a deception so great that if possible it could fool the most elect. And so you've been fooled. The religion you follow haslittle to do with Christ except that it falsely uses his name. The religion is pagan itself has pagan roots adopted by rome and continues on today.

@LordAntonis That's not true at all and your comments are false. The Roman Church did not change the Sabbath at all. The change from Sabbath to Sunday already began 100 years after Jesus' death and at that time there wasn't even any Catholics that existed yet!
EGW Was Wrong About Who Changed the Sabbath. The origin of Sunday keeping began already by the time of the Emperor Hadrian, in A.D. 135. Way before Catholics existed!

I don't understand, EGW wrote about sunday laws, because they were coming in in her time, and were a threat to them. She was not prophesying about future events, but rather present events of her own time.
