On second thought I take that back. All the Myst books together would make a reasonably good Myst Movie. That would be awesome if they somehow in the future even made the books a movie trilogy.

You've never met me. Atrus, however, supposedly met me when I saved him from the prison in which he'd been confined in the original Myst. In subsequent sequels, he doesn't seem to remember the Stranger's name. This, of coure, is a requirement of the game, which invites a generic audience to play the role of "Stranger". I was, of course, being facetious. I appreciate Myst, and Myst clones, because they do not require that the player kill anyone in order to advance to the next level.

That was part of the point when they originally created Myst. The player character is known simply as "The Stranger" and is nameless, ageless, and sexless so that it can be played by anyone.
