@DW5chaosmodeguide If you consider a consistent way 3 hits per runthrough total 6 hits in 2 run through, Pang De, Yuan Shao, Liu Bei, Pang De, Sun Jian, Zhang Liao, and Lu Meng are actually worse than Gan Ning.

I DO have plans on upgrading him to Lu Bu's tier, but how the ordering will go, right now I'm keeping Lu Bu in a higher position, but yes leaning toward same tier. Kinda like this

I meant for Zhuge in his own top tier, then Lu Bu and Zuo Ci in a 2nd tier. Pang De or Ling Tong would lead the 3rd tier. Lu Bu and Zuo Ci are clearly on a whole different level than all other characters in my mind

@DW5chaosmodeguide I think Gan Ning should be in the 3rd tier. He has very strong offense, and very good at killing multi-officers, and potentially the strongest offense. Is he at least Top 10? I always think 3 hits per run through is possible. I have done this, but seldom occur.

hmm I dont think he's much better than a lot of characters against multiple officers.

And I don't take potential in consideration. What's more important is consistency. That's a fair way of comparing characters. He's not top 10 at the moment - but he's at least top 15, and should secure top 15 no matter what changes occur from now until the end.

I just spent about 15 minutes sitting here trying to analyze for a better way for Gan Ning.

Can't come up with anything, but how bout this.

I have some ideas floating around in my head for him.

I will go back to him this weekend to play around and see if I can do something for him.

1) 3 hits per runthrough

2) a new strategy with circling his musou

3) different offense approach

4) different weapon and item setup maybe

@DW5chaosmodeguide And also Gan Ning is superior against castle weapons or weapons, like siege tower, catapult, jugglernaut, etc. Potentially he has strongest offense, so this might upgrade him as well, but not too much. Yeah it seems that there are many new things about Gan Ning. 3 hit per runthrough is possible, but seldom occur. I admire Gan Ning the most since he is the #1 who can not be matched with in DW3.

@DW5chaosmodeguide If you can do 6 hits in 2 run through, i`d say you are the best Gan Ning user in the world. 6 hits will kill playable officers in one musou. It`s extremely strict to catch the direction and time. Some people say Gan Ning musou sucks, can`t even hit the targets, but thats totally absurd. That is because they do not know how to use his musou properly. It`s unique how Gan Ning fight by sticking his sword and run 60 mph. OMG I love his musou.

@ChrisTheBest1992 Yeah, also Gan Ning is the first character I play in DW3 after my brother has unlocked all characters. Gan Ning is not as good as in DW3 in DW5, but he is still a very high tier character if you know how to use him.

you're pretty good, the only time i beat chaos mode was at Si Shui gate, i ran towards the commander skipping everything including Lu Bu and used a fully charged True Musou attack with Lu Bu at Max Level and still almost died because the enemy Lu Bu came rushing towards me and i was surrounded by enemies, THAT would've been scary if it was in real life.

yup only in xl and yeah you can use it in any battle

god mode is like legend mode or xtreme mode etc.

but it only has 2 levels and you have to do it on chaos mode.

the first level of god mode is easy

its a battle against nan zhong

and the second level is very hard

you have to fight zhang liao and lu bu. its just like dynasty warriors 6 when lubu tried to protect dong zhuo

but this time lubu tries to protect zhang liao. then you get the god scroll that gives you the power to let you defeat any enemy even officers in one hit

Struggle For The Book

on chaos and then beat the level with atleast 40 percent of your life gauge

lol just musou fill and one musou KO, sometimes he looks as fast as fully maxed zhuge, except zhuge fills in very small crowds as well and has faster one on one offense which zhuge almost never needs

aww only thing zhuge lacks is crowd clearing abilities, but if under maximization that means planning the stage and crowds ahead, therez no way zhuge cant get by any stage owning~

zuoci vs liubei is quite interesting haha, when in big crowd zuoci needs a bit leading while liubei can just slash

I like this setup. In fact, I found that there are a few situations where the orb can serve as a setup for safe C4 execution when you using the medium weapon close to a dense crowd (or even inside one).

But again somewhat rare since there's those odd times where some troops slip by.

yep exactly. If you use his C1 orb before using C4, the C1 explosion is timed pretty conveniently for safe C4 execution. But the disadvantage even with this strategy without the Dragon Arms, is that C1 execution itself requires safety execution distance, even though it's less than that of his C4. The Dragon Arms is just awesome on Zuo Ci, as now....he needs even less time or safety distance just to get that C1 out. He basically now has the freedom to freeze officers at 84% rate

The only thing holding me back from placing him in 2nd Tier is because he can't match the offense against playables. His musou filling pretty much now has no delays pretty much. But if you want to get fancy and try to freeze a playable in a large crowd size, then you have to take a bit more time, whereas Sun Jian or Liu Bei don't have to waste this kind of time, so there's a lot of balance here, to reason for Zuo Ci to be in 3rd Tier. Ya I'd agree on the top

yes. These are usually special cases that are determined by defense. Normally, to determine the best setup it's basically "The heaviest weapon weight for the moveset to be safely executed". But there may be cases where medium weight attacking speed is not fast enough to be safe in Chaos. Zhu Rong might be an example, as I've left her with Light weapon with my last guide update. Zhang Fei is maximized with a Light weapon, because of both defense and offensive efficiency

I'll be measuring Crowd Clearing pretty closely after Im finished with Officer Killing. But Crowd Clearing is uninteresting in this game because of the high number of 360 degree musou finishers in this game. Characters that transition very smoothly from regular combat to musou combat by having those whirlwind musou finishers are the ones that are best at crowd clearing. Guan Yu and Zhao Yun should achieve the best crowd clearing results in a stage like Shi Ting where crowds are

abundant.

Thus good crowd clearing means high KO rate, which is just getting KO's faster. Zuo Ci is behind Lu Bu probably, but Lu Bu is likely not the top crowd clearer.
