@tt01dwifta the way that the TA-05 is made, the lack of slop in the joints and axles, it's belt drive and has a very low Center of gravity, Need I say more? Also you can make a TA-05 into a race winning machine with just a few well bought parts, Carbon fiber chassis kit, graphite molded plastics and a few choice alum. mods(not alot cause alum. is heavier than graphite plastic) and your right with the 416's and TC5's !
You hate tamiya ? you better like them if it wasent for that company alot of the tech. thats on other brands came from them. there are good tamiya cars and there are bad ones just like any othere company ever ran against a trf 415 prob not you would rem. that ass wooping haha and ta05 are good cars set up correctly
I have a TA05 that I have fully upgraded with 3Racing options. I run it in the local 540 class. The car is basically unbeatable. I am moving up to stock next season with a 13.5 turn, 13mm rotor and li-po's. Even out of the box, a TA05 is a match for anything else out there.
it can handle 13.5 and lipo wow i completely doubt it when i bought it today maybe i will upgrade mine its beutiful with the f430 body i cant what to build it
19t class motor , gearing and it looks like ozite carpet so carpet tires as well [ foam ]. fast and very fun but you need to see a 8.5 brushless race , now fast isn't even the word to use for that
I have now bought and built a TC-5 and now run in Super Stock with a 13.5 Brushless. 8.5BL is nothing. We race MOD class and the normal motor to use is a 3.5 Brushless, even seen a guy run a very rare 2.0 Brushless!!!! Now that's FAST!!! Too fast for me!!
elo, i want to race but i dont know what setup i need, i have a 18t brushed motor, carbon chassis, novak fusion no limit esc, and around 4x3500+mah 6 cell batteryu packs, the car is an exeme, same chassis as an tc5, please help me, what kind of gears should i have for quick acceleration around the corners?
TA05R is just a TA05 with some hop up bits. I have moved on from the TA05 to a TC5. But the TA05 is a great car compared to a tt01. Just get a TA05 with metal motor mount and ball raced steering and just keep practicing your driving skills untill you get very good, then get a pro chassis like the Team Associated TC5 or cyclone etc etc.I got a TC5 because the TA05 was great for novice racing but too heavy for 540 Pro
nice i remenber we used 2 talk alot when u had ur tt01 and u loved it lol the ta05 is like the best tamiya ever exexpt maybe trf 415 i used 2 have a tl01 and now i have a hpi hb world champ edit cyclone chek out my vid!!
I only race in Novice class because I am new to RC Racing so we are limited to the standard 540 silver can motor to keep speeds down. But we usually run about 40-45Km/h
just to tell u that heat sink isnt really usefull cos i got and many pros told me this 2 that it heats up more with the sink cos the airflow aint so good
Hey man. i got the mod motor ive been after for a while and its a 15t. but when i bought it, they dude said that i should run a 19t pinion instead of a 20t because it will over run the speed controller even though my speed controller is compatible for the motor.. but your running a 40t pinion? i didn't even know they went that high. whats the stort with that? thanks.
i have to differ, i have a ta05 and i use it on a public road that barly any cars come down but enough to get ris of rocks and pebbles ect. and i havnt had 2 change my gears once since i got it (1 or so months ago with 1-4 times use a week) nice as bodys though and car too, what motor are you running and what pinion and spur? cya
It all depends on what gearing you run. I use 64 pitch gears to give me finer adjustments for racing. I got a pebble about 1mm big stuck on the spur and it stuffed my pinion and spur in 1 minute because the pinion and spur are not protected like the TT01
I've pretty much finished making the video just need to clean up the edits and cut scenes. Just been playing my xbox 360 too much :) Hopefully I'll have it done by This weekend
Well... You seem to be extremley helpful so maybe you can help me. I have a TA05 but i'm kinda bored with the speed so i was wondering if I put in a modified motor, would i have to do anymore hop up options or would my car be able to take it? Thanks man
Hi.If you're kinda bored with the speed, you certainly have a LOT of potential with this car :) For smooth running i suggest you get at LEAST the following.Ball raced bearings ($15) 12 turn MOD motor ($80), ball raced steering ($25). Drop your gearing down to about 25mm (reply if you dont know). You'll be hitting about 75Km/h!!
Thanks dude. That helps me soo much. Well i still have about 22 days to nag my dad before christmas haha but i dont understand what you meen by drop the gearing down. cheers
If the surface is smooth like floor boards or carpet then go a TA05 but if its gravel or even playing in the street then the TA05 gears will get chewed up from small rocks so TT01 will be better for those surfaces.
Depends how you gear up the cars. The TT01 is soooo limited with gearing options so the TA05 is much better as you can put on 96 or 48 pitch stuff and gear it EXEACTLY how you like.TT01 is better for playing in the street but the TA05 is best for serious racing
very nice videos watched them al and im inpressses, im looking to buy a touring car for racing but have no clue on what to buy have 300 pound to spend any ideas?
300 Pounds, I think thats like $600 aussie dollars. Mate, get a Tamiya TA05, it's the RC car of the GODS!! Handles like its on train tracks and gearing options galore!!!!Not for running outside though because small stones can get into the gears as they are exposed inside the car, or you can use 48 pitch gears to stop stones causing you greif.
hey im kinda new to rc cars and i want this as a second car( ihave a dark impact) but i was wondering how much it would cost make the car go really fast. like what motor and stuff you would need and how much. also can you explain to me what a pinion is? thanks please reply
Im pretty sure a pinion is a small gear that connects from the motor to other gears. I have a 20t pinion gear in my car at the moment which means it will go slightly faster than a 18 or 19t but will have slightly slower acceleration. I dont know if that makes any sense but thats the best explanation i can give. Hopefully that helps you a bit. And also, be prepared to spend hundred of bucks to get it up to racing spec
My TA05 is not that fast only 40Km/h. I'm running standard 540 silver motor with 93 SPUR and 40 PINION.If you want STUPID fast!! get a 12 turn motor with ESC (Speed controller) that can handle a 12 turn motor and drop your gears to a 96spur/26pinion
Na I can't put on led wheels or neons cause this is a racing car and neons break in no time, and LED wheels not much use cause we race inside with lights on. LED Wheels would look cool though. I can get a set but their like $80, not worth it.

only reason this car handles so much better then the tt01 is cuz the tt01 is ment for drifting lmao..

tt01 isnt made for drifting, the TT01D was. It handles better because the TT01 was made as a beginner RC car

a PINION is the cog that goes onto your motor. The SPUR is the cog that drives your main shaft.
