I love how none of this makes any sense for most of the show, then towards the end every single scene in this montage is explained. Why Vicious had the gun to her head, why she tore up the paper, why there's a rose in the puddle, etc. But I don't think the love triangle made any of the three of them what they are today, seems they were always that way, and things unfolded because of it

I see what you're saying about love triangles but I could never really see Spike being with Faye. Spike seems to have this aura about him that emits this sense of knowledge and understanding that was beyond Faye. It's obvious that she was developing feelings for him over the course of the show but Julia had this sort of mysterious calm that made her seem like Spikes equal. Faye even noticed this when she was rescued by Julia.

Spike to me, seemed like the older brother who had her back.

When I saw Spike fall, I starting crying... He looked like a little kid that lost his parents.

This was one of the only Anime that really got to me, emotionally. When I saw the end of this show, I actually cried for a good few minutes. You know how it is when you finish watching an Anime, right? You feel like you life has no means of going on, but with Cowboy Bebop, I thought of living my life and never take it or anyone else's for granted, or it may kill you.

I think the love triangle that once existed between the three is much more complex than what is lead on. Vicious appears to be the kind of man who keeps those around him that he cared for (Julia) by means of control, manipulation and power. We see how he put a gun to her head and gave her the ultimatum to murder spike or die with him. /

Spike on the other hand has the laid back, nonchalant persona and the ability to live beyond just lurking for the blood of others. Thats what Julia saw in him

@Somebodylost I do believe he died. It makes so much sense with the flavor of the series to have Spike and Vicious both die at 27. As much as I like Spike, it was a beautiful end to the series. He just couldn't let it go. Jet and Faye both told him not to, but he had too. He succeeded, but paid the price, just like the musicians the show reveres, who express so much in their art, then die tragically young at 27 for one reason or another. The parallels of them both as musicians are very present.
