  • Odd seeing Mr. Bumble Sing Where Is Love.

  • Harry was never in camelot but was in oliver as mr bumble, i loved that movie too bad they dont make them like that any more.

  • Can you tell me the release year of this one, Tom, or what year HS opened in Camelot?

I do know Jack Hylton was involved in the production of Camelot in the UK.

  • I couldn't find the release date for this recording, which is why I didn't include it in the title. Some of them are tricky! HS was never in Camelot as far as I know, was he? This song is from "Oliver" which HS did star in. You could look up the date of the movie for that one.

  • @ILoveJenni47 if it helps, harry's version of this song appears on his album "sir harry" released in 1994. although i don't know if the song was recorded/released before then

  • @wftheassassinwf Thanks for the information. I'm guessing it might be from an album originally released in the 1970's. It sounds like it has a 1970's instrumental backing to my ears. Is "Sir Harry" a complilation album?

  • @ILoveJenni47 also i just ordered a copy of the CD for myself, so i'll be sure to take a look at the CD booklet when it arrives, and i'll let you know if it lists a date for the song

  • @ILoveJenni47 sorry i have no idea. i like harry secombe but i don't actually know many of his songs or much about his career/discography. i just found the song listed on the sir harry CD on amazon.co.uk - perhaps you will be able to tell if it was a compilation or not from the track listing, just serach sir harry secombe in music on amazon to find it. it's the only CD so far i've found which has the song

  • @wftheassassinwf It looks like a compilation from the track list. Possibly tracks compiled from one or two different albums, maybe three. Yes, let me know if the CD booklet gives any information. Thanks!

  • @ILoveJenni47 got the CD today, unfortunetely neither the booklet or back cover lists the release/recording dates for each song individually. it also doesn't say which album each song is from. but the notes of the booklet do confirm it is indeed a compilation release, of "some earlier recordings" of Harry Secombe. the back of the CD says "copyright 1982" and "copyright 1993" but i guess that is just referring to the whole compilation release. let me know if you need any other info from the cd

  • @wftheassassinwf I had a feeling that it might not list the information as some of the older compilations have sparse information in their booklets. Ah well, thanks anyway for the information that you did find out, and I hope you enjoy the album!

  • @ILoveJenni47 yeh it's annoying isn't it. i like to list the years on all my songs if i can. i've been searching google, and i think i've found what album the song is from - "all things bright and beautiful". i found it on the site vinylsolution . com (just search "harry secombe all things bright and beautiful" to find it) BUT it still doesn't list the year the album was released!! annoying. i'm gonna keep searching and try to find the year.

  • @wftheassassinwf I did a search for the album too, and found that it has 21 songs on it, so I think it's a compliation as well. Ah, but the good news is that I think I found the original album! A 1980 LP called "These Are My Songs" has the recording on it, along with some others I couldn't place. It states on the front of the record that the LP consists of original recordings too. Thanks for your help in leading me to this!

  • @ILoveJenni47 great! i guess the "all things bright and beautiful" one is a compilation then. i'd be inclined to think you are correct that the "these are my songs" lp is the original release. the only place i've found so far that lists the date of the LP is a seller on ebay (who says its from 1980). might be the same place you saw it. so assuming the sellers date is accurate, looks like we have our answer and the song is from 1980. no problem, thanks for your help in finding the answer too!

  • @wftheassassinwf You're welcome, yes, I found the date on the Ebay listing.
